Please don't delete this question, because I am actually very curious about this. Why do people join this website who aren't even serious about helping people or receiving help? People who need help come here and some ignorant people joke around and even insult these people in need. Don't you think it's time we suspend or expel these rude people? I'm sick of it myself.

Actually I reported someone today for sayin mean stuff to a gay dude... and as far as i can tell, (sadly) nothing has been done about it. Personally I think it's just downrite rude for people to do thing's like that, and i dont think they should be aloud on this site.

this is just because, in these centuries people got education, knowledge of power, very easily. but accordingly wisdom is not blooming. more over their physical , mental, energy state is such that it has not evolved still to its full potential. they can't sit quitely at one place not even for few minutes. because education, there is basically two types of education, based on culture, eastern and western, western is something just offering knowledge with out preparing the human being to evolve full, eastern mostly as a process of experience, so in ancient days they will not offer education to people unless the person who realises himself, or the education itself will a process to lead that. so that the person will explore true identity . now with that wisdom, he will enter to the next phase of life. because of the wisdom, experience, process, his physical, mental, energy everything evolved. so he can be matured in every way and will be sit quitely, merge into meditation, union with existence is allways possible what ever be the tool he handles in life. may be you watch yourself, just try to sit quitely , silently, no talk to anybody, no response in anyway,(prepare the external condition before itself) even if you sit, for most people, first body itself will not cooperate, even if body cooperate, he simply can't close his eyes and enjoy himself because of mind process. if you really want other people to settle themself, first you must work with you and identity your true nature, explore your true identity. this process is called as spiritual. it can be done in many ways, but a living master always makes different than scriptures, established institutions. because he can work with you in every possible way. you can't expel anybody since it is a disturbance for you. then for you and hitler there may be no difference only the power but basic is same. at the same time if you sick of yourself, you are the person should be worked at, because as for the other person concern it is just relaxing himself, just outletting himself.even if you expel , how many people we can do. they will keep on come. but if you explore this highest dimension, you can always add your flavour and colour to everything around you. i can name a spiritual institution which offers this highest dimension in scientific way with the knowledge of ancient master and with the guidence of living master. if you wish you can visit. www.ishafoundation.org

I havnt been on this site very long but every once in a while I run across rude people who just say nasty things to people who really want help. I think its because they think its 'fun' jsut because they can. I agree, these people should be banned. This site is for people in need and not ignorant people making fun of others. If I were you I would email the person who runs this site and ask him to go through the columns and ban people who are not being resonable. Hope it works out!

I used to be that way.
They shoulda banned me a loooong time ago. But then I decided to actually HELP people, and occasionally I get on to really answer someone's question - excluding the normal "Idk how to tell my boyfriend I like him" stuff. It gets tiring, and if I don't have something nice (helpful?) to say, I just won't say it.

RussianMailman is right. Many people here have very shallow needs. And what's the big deal, anyway? These people are just bored kids who think that they are eccentric by coming up with dumb answers. Most of them don't say anything genuinely harmful [if they do, you can report them]. A 5-year-old blows a raspberry at you and calls you a name. Are you insulted? No, you just ignore it, laugh and go on with your day. The same rule applies with the "insulting people" on this site. And hey, some of them are pretty funny...

i do agree with you if you are not serious about helping people then you should be on here you could hurt somebody and and give them the wrong idea and make them suffer and just mess up there lives if not serious so everything youre saying about being expelled suspended. maybe we could do something about that

People are idiots. Face it, people like to laugh at other's expenses even if it hurts the other person. If someone gives advice like that you should report them. But I agree, don't waste your time coming here if you don't even want to help anyone.

If you're so sick of it, why are you here still? For me, I am serious about giving help, but like I've said before, sometimes it's hard to take a person seriously when they can't take their question seriously enough to type it out coherently. Sure, you could suspend the people, and I'm sure they get suspended and you just don't hear about it. Either way, it's just how the real world is. There are going to be your rude people, your nice people, every kind of person...and it's something that needs to be dealt with. If you think some advice web site is bad, maybe you need a reality check.

If someone is being mean and insulting then please file an abuse report. Be sure and send a link to the question so it can be found.
There are so many questions and answers on this site that everyone needs to help by doing this. The moderators just aren't able to catch everyone, so please, file an abuse report. :)

I agree with the point you're trying to make. Let's just face it : people think they're hilarious with the way they act stupid and they do it for attention. I think advicenators should delete people's advice collumns if they act like this because they're not doing what this site is for, which is helping people. No matter how much we all complain about these stupid people though, nothing is going to change with all the people on this web site.

I so agree with you. People should be serious because someone might believe them and get into trouble so i agree with you. I try to give god dvice and actually this person who asked a question needed more advice so he AIMed me and told me. We have rules against people abusing this site. Notice that being rude isn't an offence you can get banned for. Giving bad advice isn't an offence either. People are allowed to be idiots, and they are allowed to suck at being a columnist.
What they aren't allowed to do is give harmful advice, illegal advice, or use questions for things that are not adivce (and there is more, check the reasons.)

I totally agree with you! I wanted some serious advice and all I got was a get over it or a lol. Try e-mailing the sponsor guy of this website and suggesting that he monitor people more closely so that if they are not doing what people are here for then they recive warnings or suspensions.

I know people are so mean. You ask a question on here thats important to you and they get mad and leave you a terriable answer. Thats why advicenators has a good Abuse System. If anyone pissed you off or made you mad, just report abuse and ignore them.

I completely agree with you, because I have asked a question to recieve good advice, and this one person responded in a sarcastic way. But it doesnt really bother me I pay no mind, to those who are immature and cant think of a real way to answer a question. I dont really think we should suspend them, it doesnt really matter, because compared to those 30 or so people who are rude, we have hundreds of people who actually care. The moderators have had countless discussions about individuals who cause trouble on this site. We always come to the conclusion that we must either ignore them or report them using the report abuse feature. It's virtually impossible to suspend every single user who is abusing the site, just ignore them. The people who do it are just bored and have no lives, instead of answering questions well they waste everyone's time with stupid pointless answers. Like I said, report them or ignore.

On any form of interaction on the internet, be it a site, chat room, message board, or whatever, there will always be trolls. Fact of life, dude. You either ignore them or run along with them, but you do not oppose them. It's a waste of time and effort and makes both of you look dumb.
To suspend or expel would be a neverending process. The majority of mods can only ban for 5 days, and guess what happens 5 days later? At any rate, in the extreme cases of profanity and offensive behavior, bans are placed. We deal with the worst, and there is nothing more we can do other than that.
