well my ex boyfriends birthday is coming up and we decided we were gonna spend the day together after school or the following day together! weve been broken up for almost 7 months now! ya i know a really long time! but through it all weve been like best of friends and we talk all the time! and weve hung out twice this summer! well he does tell me he knows we both want to be together but it wont work right now because he is dating another girl but they arent going out cause she cant have a boyfriend! and even after being broke up hes like i love u and i always will! and just last night he said he missed us! and i still really care about him! but anyways for his bday i wanna do something really cute! i was already thinking about making him a cake and decorating it all cute and getting him a card! but i was trying to think of something else special i could do to show him how much i care! any ideas? thanks so much!

That's really sweet, baking him a cake would definitely be a good idea...and maybe for plans for the day you should take a walk outside and have a picnic. Something that'll keep you both busy in case you don't want to spend every moment talking would besomething like going to the arcade, or ask him what he would like to do after you've done something you wanted to do with him. He'll probably either pick something really fun and energy consuming or somewhere where you would definitely talk. Boating is really fun, or if you like to roller skate or bike...maybe even swimming, it depends what you can and can't do and what the weather's like. For a rainy day you could rent movies and stay inside, or a really hot day go swimming or go somewhere air conditioned. Lots of possibilities, let me know if you need more. Hope I helped. maybe you can make him a mix CD with love songs and all his favorite songs. your idea is really good so maybe you could maybe make him a cake that says i love you forever" or something like that. you could take him out for the day and take him to all his favortie stores then go out to dinner. maybe you two can rent a nice movie and make home-made popcorn or something. anything like that would be soo cute!!

The best way to show someone that you care, is to give with your heart and not necessarily with your wallet. I approve of your cake idea, but instead of a card, why don't you write him a long note or letter telling him exactly how you feel about him. This is the best thing to do as it will clear up everything between you. After reading the letter, you will have expressed yourself clearly and he will have no doubt in his mind about you feel about him. It is alot easier to tell people things in writing then it is to say it aloud.
It seems to me that there is alot of drama going on between you. Letting him know how you feel straight up will be alot more valueable then anything you could possibly buy/make him.

The cake and the card sound wonderful! For an additional special treat you could get him a little stuffed animal and attach a poem of how you feelabout him to it. Or you could, plan a day out together like going to a park for a picnic or even just playing on the kiddie toys together. It's sounds childish but it will give you all a way to laugh and have a good time you will always remember. My bo and I like to go fishing together. We like to make fun of each others reactions when hooking a fish.

you know what would be really cute, is a dinner at a nice place like, lets say applebees, i dont know if you know the place but when its your birthday at applebees they sing you a song and you get a free icecream or sumthing, if you went to a place that did sumthing like that for him, that would be cute! or you could just have it simple, your house with a cake and a few old friends over just to show you care about him. But the one thing that really shows you care is a suprise party, it doesnt have to be big and fancy, but it does show you really care!

Well since his birthday is durring the school, you should decorate his locker and fill it up with balloons. And then if you wanted to do something with him after school you should go out to dinner or something or go to a movie, but dont tell him. Send him notes and clues durring the day of what you are going to do with him after school such as like(if it were like idk, a movie theather or something): "Popcorn" and then attachted to that had a mini popcorn bag idk just do some things that are really cute! You know what I've always wanted for my birthday? A cool million dollars. Haha no just kidding. Time. Simple and sometimes complicated, the greatest gift you could ever give to somebody. Since we are all have a limited amout of it, giving some of that to somebody is always appreciated and very valuable. Make that day special for him. Draw him a picture with crayons. Glue a picture of you two together, or one of each of you next to each other and decorate it with whatever you can find; no it doesnt have to be hearts and such, but it can be something eye catchy, or even in big letters: best friend. Hand write him a letter. Write about his birthday, your friendship, your wanting to do something special, funny moments, inside jokes, etc. Those are all things that are kept in the shoe box in the closet filled with other random stuff.
You know what else would be neat? Take a piece of oak tag or a big piece of paper, and one by one, with glue draw the letters out Happy Birthday '____'. Before the letter drys out, stick M&M's really close onto the glue to spell out letters [preferably regular ones, and use random colors, dont make each letter one color]. then fill the rest of the oak tag with M&M's, but don't glue them. If you can do this at your house or something, or even at a store, like a place you could leave it at, have him go over to it and lift it up. At first he wont see anything but M&Ms on the paper, but when he lifts it up, everything will fall down and the glued ones will stay. Of course, give him a bag of M&Ms afterwards, because who doesn't love chocolate. Hope those ideas were creative or practical enough, maybe even helped you think of something on your own. Good luck.

Well, thats a very complicated situation and you definantly dont want to get him something that says "I want you now" or "I care about you a lot", because he has (techinally) a girlfriend and you really dont want to be that "other chick" especially being his ex!
Anyway, I would go with something really personal, you obviously know him well so something simple, but personal would definantly do the trick. I know that seems fairly broad, so Ill give you some pointers.
1. <b>EBAY.</b> So lets say he has a favorite band if you search that band on ebay maybe you could find something thats signed by that band or something else really special.
2. if you dont that much time <b> visit a place he shops </b> like a clothing store or something and find a thing or two that you think he would say wow I love this, I have to have this. If it something that he really loves, it will mean more than the amount it was.
3. anything you get, make sure you <b> add a card. </b> thats something that is priceless (not too mention you can get it for free). Just take a pen and paper and write something that really opens you up. Thats what my boyfriend did for my birthday and it was the best thing he got me. The best part is, it will be a big deal to him without showing that you put too much effort into something.

I think it's very sweet that you guys still hang out, but I'm skeptical about him dating another girl and telling you he loves you...Don't you think it's a little shady? I mean, don't you think it would hurt the other girl? I don't know this guy but I'd be careful what you say and do, I would hate to find out that he used you.
Some cute ideas for his birthday would be to take him to your/his house and make it seem like you didn't plan anything special, but when he walks into the dining area, have it all lit up with candles (safely, not anywhere near flammable things) and have a nice, romantic setting and have his cake decorated all nicely right in the middle of the table with his candles on it. You could also (if the table is wide enough) have a small vase on either side of the cake, one with seven roses and the other with one rose. Tell him to tear the petals off the seven roses and then spread them on the table and tell him that those were to the end seven months ago and then (make sure there is a ribbon around the single rose, maybe his favorite color?) and hand it to him and say "This is to a new beginning," and kiss him sweetly on the cheek or hug him. Then bring out a nicely prepared dinner and then dig into the cake. You might even make/buy a small cake that just the two of you can eat.

I think thats a really cute idea!! Make him a scrap book or a picture frame! Scrapbooks are not only for girls! If you decorate it with things he likes and with meaningful pictures he will really like it!! That means you took the time to make him something special and it means you care a lot about him!

I don't know how arty you are, but you could make him something personal. It can be anything, something you have decorated or made.
For Christmas, my best friend made me a stocking and made a fairy to go on it, this is something I will treasure forever, so you could do something similar to this?
You could get a photograph of the two of you together and put it in a frame. You could decorate a frame, or just find a nice one he would like. Or perhaps put a picture of you both on his birthday card, or just make him a card personal to him.
You could organise a trip somewhere that you spent time together. Perhaps a picnic at a beach or park? It doesn't have to be expensive.
Having said all this, are you sure he is the right person for you? He says you should be together, yet is dating another girl (who can't even properly have a boyfriend.) I wouldn't like to think of you putting lots of time and effort into his birthday, only for him to hurt you by remaining with this girl. Perhaps you should talk to him first?
