How many grams of sugar should can I consume for a fat burning diet???

I am male, 6 foot and 217 pounds....

Depends on the kind of sugar. If you're talking table sugar like the kinds in doughnuts, cakes and other sweets then it's zero.

If you're talking about fructose or fruit sugar- then that's ok because its natural and comes from fruit. Don't want to have too much- don't worry about the grams- just don't eat 5 bananas a day or doughnuts at all. If I had to give you an estimate- I would say below 15-20g a day and that's only from natural sugar sources (lactose, fructose, etc.) not sucrose.

My friends and i used a quiji board i didn't really want to. And without asking my friend asked when i was going to die and how. It said i would only be 36. And in a car fire. Now i'm really scared. I beleive heavily in god and jesus and i need to know thats it's all bull. I don't really beleive in it but i'm still scared. I'm 14 and i kinda wanna know what it is moving the board. Why do guys lead girls on and then stop? Like just completely stop and act as if you guys were just friends and all that flirting never existed?

lol...girls crack me up. But who couldn't be that way when most of the opinions come from girls who are the same age as a guy when he is going through the peak of his "natural urges" phase and is a testosterone fountain. God forbid a guy says anything though- then its sexiest..but I digress.

The long and short of it-

Girls look for commitment and all that stuff and they do it when they're 15 under the quixotic notion that the boyfriend they have now is the same one they're going to marry.

Guys just realize that this isn't the case earlier and wait. Basically we fear commitment and we don't want to lose our freedom to hang with the boys when Sunday rolls around and the game is on or just do whatever we like to do and spend it at the mall with a girl. Who wants that when they're young? You have the rest of your life to worry about being tied down to a single guy/girl.

Just have fun and flirt and don't worry about relationships and trying to figure guys out because theres no such thing as love when you're young. Despite what the Notebook or A Walk to Remember might portray.

So, I just got a Weslow Pursuit machine. It's one of those exercise machines that's like a bike, but stays in place. I was wondering what kind of results you get out of this kind of equipment (bikes). Along with curlups and a fairly well based diet (yes, some snacking), how well does this help out with weight loss and toned body?

Nobody can tell you for sure how your results are going to be. That violates the Principle of Individual Differences.

Honestly? You're not going to get very far unless you have a balanced exercise program. Besides; we're made up of more muscle than just abs. This means you have to work out your whole body- and you should be doing that anyway.

I don't like bikes because most people just sit there and cycle at the same pace not knowing that they are completely wasting their time. After a few minutes of pedaling- your body has become so acclimated to that workload that you're burning no calories whatsoever.

They say that Variety is the spice of life- and that is especially true with fitness.


Just so you know- I do not recommend eating Lays chips or any chips- fat free or not. It may only be 450 calories but its 450 calories of empty energy that gets stored as bodyfat since the body can't use it- something they don't tell you on the bag.

What is your view on veganism, when done with consious effort to get enough calcium, protien, and B12 in the diet?

Good question.

I really have nothing against veganism- it just isn't in harmony with my own beliefs since my background is bodybuilding. For someone who doesn't really exert themselves as strenuous as serious bodybuilders do and doesn't need the raw tools for growth and recovery; I think it can work fine when there is enough protein especially in the diet. Calcium and B12 are important and everyone should try and get as much of both from whole foods- but there really isn't a difference in synthetic and natural nutrients such as vitamins and minerals- our body will digest them all the same whether it is from a carrot or a capsule.

I do believe that just as Americans alone we get a sufficient amount of protein in our diets and that since our makeup is protein it is very hard to become deficient in it- I am not a bodybuilder who eats 300 grams of protein a day..I just find it unnecessary.

If there is a particular way of being a vegetarian that I agree with most it is a lacto-ovo vegetarian who simply does not eat any red meat, fish or fowl in their diet but supplements the protein deficiency by adding dairy products such as milk and eggs.

So I've been doing curlups for a WHILEE now, but the closest I've gotten to 'abs' is the formation of some lines, not really muscle. I was really thinking of buying a 'heat belt'. I'm not sure of how many people have heard of this, but there's a commercial/infomercial about this. It's basically a wrap you can put around your stomach (or theighs, if you want) which makes you sweat, revealing your muscle under fat.
It's basically a sauna effect only on the area it's covering. =P
I was just wondering if anyone actually knew how well this worked. How long does it take to see results? And, does it help in actually losing weight, along with exercise?

ok well i'm really really thin.. i've always been this way! my legs and arms and very bony and small. i want to 'beef up' a little bit lol.. i eat allll the time! i just don't know where it all goes! idk if i have a digestion problem or what, but before i look into that, is there anything i can do to maybe, put some meat on my bones? thanks a lot =]

Hit those weights and don't be afraid to use ones that feel a bit heavy (not Arnold heavy lol)

Weight train and just keep on eating is all I really can tell you. You're young and have plenty of time to worry about this and make the changes...it takes lots of time- I won't lie- but that's the name of the game patience and persistence.

can anyone list me some healthy things I can eat for break fast? That's healthy though because this year, I want to eat really healthy stuff to improve my complexion (no i'm not fat, but I have really ugly skin, not just in my face either). So bread with sugar is executed thsi year..Can I eat yogurt for breakfast? My parents said it's a snack so they took it away from me =(

Why this year? Why not commit to healthy eating and living for the rest of your life? It shouldn't be a passing fad- and the truth is if you treat it as that then you will get nowhere.

Just to name a few off the top of my head.

I don't recommend yogurt- it causes a lot of subcanteous fat storage between the skin and muscle and only a teaspoon of it per week is needed to help maintain flora in the digestive tract- some extra info for you there.

is it possible that if i excercise a lot my shoe size can get smaller? im a size 8.5 or 9 (please dont say that my shoe size is right or normal, i want a smaller foot) and i would like to get to a size 6 or 7 if its possible. but if not, are there any other ways to get a smaller foot besides surgery? thanks!

how does a eliptical machine work? I want one but I'm not sure how to use it.

The feet go onto 2 tracks and they spin in the shape of an ellipse.

It's ok but I honestly recommend you get a Stairmaster or other kind of stepper machine instead of a treadmill or an elliptical.

seriously. why the hell does everyone have a problem with emo kids? like..i dress emo but that doesn't necessarily mean that i go around cutting myself. and even if i did, why do people notice emo people more than everyone else? and why do people say stuff about them? its stupid. half the kids are obviously depressed and i don't think people should make fun of them. then the other half just dresses this way because they really like music.

I think that i am fat. my mom does to. she calls me fat all of the time, and now my sister does. honestly i hate myself and the way that i am. ive always wanted to be an actress or a singer, but my mom told me that i wont make it because i am way to fat. she tells me that i will never get a boyfriend if i am this big. i way less than 160 and am about 5'4". i kno that i am huge, but i cant lose the weight. i used to cut myself becuase of how terrible i am, and now i am giving up at life all together. if i have to be fat all of my life, than i dont want to live at all. please help. if you can give me ways to lose the wait. i thinking of suicide, and am only thirteen. my family and all guys hate me. i need help and fast.

Well I can tell you that nobody gets anywhere in this game of health and fitness with hatred and sadness as the primary motivating factors. You need to look yourself in the mirror and say "This is who I am now" and then picture yourself into the future after the hard work and see what you want to become.

Negative vibes suck- I used to be told constantly that I couldn't break the 300 lb bench mark by the time I was 17. I used that as motivation; but didn't take it too serious because I knew that I was going to do it because I willed myself to do it.

Don't hate yourself for how you look now- you didn't know any better; and now you realize that there is a problem that needs to be fixed and you really have to have the desire to want to fix it. I won't lie- it isn't easy but it also isn't impossible. Trust me- you CAN lose the weight - but it's all up to you to have the right mind frame and do the necessary work. Once you start to see that the pants you have now are beginning to become a bit more loose- you will feel great and if you continue to work at it- soon they will be too big for you and then you will feel and look like a totally different person.

You are the boss of your body- own up now to how you look and say "You know what- I can change and I WILL change"

I don't mean to sound like Richard Simmons; I certainly don't want to look like him- that's for sure :-P But put your best foot forward- erase these negative thoughts and get yourself in the right mind frame- I'll give you some guidelines to help you get started in the right direction if you're interested.

I have an issue and I cant seem to resolve it.
I go on a diet and I loose weight , very easily.
I go off my diet and gain it back, just as easily.
I wish I could stay on my diet, i always tend to eat so much after maybe loosing 3-7 pounds.
when I eat, I dont eat anything un healty though.
But I stuff my face with yogurt, fruit, pretzels, trail mix, light popcorn, cereal.
You name it.
But ive been going to the gym and working off 800 calories.
But after that I come home and eat!
I dont know what to do anymore, Ive tried so many times !

You need to put things in perspective. You're 13 years old and it is important for you to know that you need a lot of nourishment to grow and to support the changes going on with your body- especially as a female.

You're taking it wayyy too serious- I'll tell you because I have been there- I started training at 13 and was obsessed and went through a few tough injuries. I lived and I learned and I gained experience from it; educated myself further and now I try to educate others from both education and personal experience.

You have all the time in the world to worry about serious dieting and exercise. Don't worry about eating immaculate- just try to eat sufficient and don't beat yourself up when you fail. It happens to everyone- even to those like myself who should know better. Failing isn't what should determine how you look at yourself- the mistakes you make and how you rectify them should be how you judge yourself.

Health activist eh? Well here's the truth from a trainer/bodybuilder/health activist:

-Health does matter

-You probably haven't been doing it right this whole time. Maybe it is because you lacked credible information; maybe it is because you're too ignorant to just be honest with yourself. Only you know that.

-Loss of quick weight = Even quicker weight gain

-You are operating under some HUGE delusion if you think you can get slim that fast.

-Those who bust their ass and have patience get the best results; and they actually keep them

-You really need to adjust your attitude/mindset if you are going to attack this problem with the proper energy.

Dancing is good, high impact aerobics like Tae Bo is even better. Jogging, walking, sprinting.

4 or 5 clean meals throughout the day. Plenty of water and don't forget to grab plenty of sleep. You'll get there; just be persistent.
