Why do guys lead girls on and then stop? Like just completely stop and act as if you guys were just friends and all that flirting never existed?

lol...girls crack me up. But who couldn't be that way when most of the opinions come from girls who are the same age as a guy when he is going through the peak of his "natural urges" phase and is a testosterone fountain. God forbid a guy says anything though- then its sexiest..but I digress.
The long and short of it-
Girls look for commitment and all that stuff and they do it when they're 15 under the quixotic notion that the boyfriend they have now is the same one they're going to marry.
Guys just realize that this isn't the case earlier and wait. Basically we fear commitment and we don't want to lose our freedom to hang with the boys when Sunday rolls around and the game is on or just do whatever we like to do and spend it at the mall with a girl. Who wants that when they're young? You have the rest of your life to worry about being tied down to a single guy/girl.
Just have fun and flirt and don't worry about relationships and trying to figure guys out because theres no such thing as love when you're young. Despite what the Notebook or A Walk to Remember might portray.

Well, who KNOWS why guys do what they do..honestly. But, heres my theory. Guys flirt and flirt because its fun for them. Sometimes they dont want to have a relationship with you. Its kind of like a test to see how much they can get in a little bit of time. But, they forget girls have um, FEELINGS?! So, they forget to plan for that. The first clue they get the girl actually likes them and might be looking for something morree than what they want, they freak out and get scared. Then, they think the only way to get the point to the girl is to never talk to her and pretend it never happened.

Because thats how guys are, they will flirt with you like they are obsessed with you, and drop you the second they think they see something hotter, thats how they are.

Because you hang around with the wrong guys. It may or may not surprise you that I have (in my youth) experienced what you describe quite a lot from girls. This is not an issue of being male or female, its an issue of personality and/ or maturity. Kind of people who do this usually look upon it as a game, and/ or as a way to build up their self esteem.
Im suprised by the sexist answers to this question. I wonder how such comments about the opposite sex would have fared coming out of the mouth of a male.
