Bikes.

Question Posted Saturday January 6 2007, 6:18 pm

Hi, Everyone!! :D *waves*
So, I just got a Weslow Pursuit machine. It's one of those exercise machines that's like a bike, but stays in place. I was wondering what kind of results you get out of this kind of equipment (bikes). Along with curlups and a fairly well based diet (yes, some snacking), how well does this help out with weight loss and toned body?

Thanks for any help. =)

Nobody can tell you for sure how your results are going to be. That violates the Principle of Individual Differences.

Honestly? You're not going to get very far unless you have a balanced exercise program. Besides; we're made up of more muscle than just abs. This means you have to work out your whole body- and you should be doing that anyway.

I don't like bikes because most people just sit there and cycle at the same pace not knowing that they are completely wasting their time. After a few minutes of pedaling- your body has become so acclimated to that workload that you're burning no calories whatsoever.

They say that Variety is the spice of life- and that is especially true with fitness.

Just so you know- I do not recommend eating Lays chips or any chips- fat free or not. It may only be 450 calories but its 450 calories of empty energy that gets stored as bodyfat since the body can't use it- something they don't tell you on the bag.

as little snacking as possible i would hope

I prefer the treadmill...along with a full balanced strength exercise...

heres a tidbit of info...

45 minutes of moderate exercise a day...while cutting 250 calories from your diet...will lose you 52 pounds in a year...

push ups are also wonderful....actually great try ladders it goes like this

15 curl ups
15 push ups
14 curl ups
14 push ups
13 curl ups
13 push ups

etc...

ALSO

some GREAT diet foods

please friend ignore the low carb bull...instead low calorie and low fat...with exercise

eat no more than 30g of fat a day...no more

also i would reccomend a 1600 calorie a day diet

here are some GREAT foods

Lays Lite potatoe chips...YUMMM eat a whole bag for 450 calories and 0g of fat!!!

Dannon lite n' fit yogurt...YUMMM

Ball Park fat free hot dogs....50 cals a frank with no fat

be sure to get lite bread and buns for hamburger and hot dogs too...and sandwhiches....

and if you do eat hamburger get lean meat...works great...tastes great too

.........

and that will DEFINATELY help you...especially if you stick with the 1600cal 30g of fat a day diet...and the exercise 45 min a day...you will lose and tone

I did...I lose 23 lbs....and gained 3-4 lbs of muscle...and the diet satisfies me...I dont even think I'm on a diet :D

it worked for me...itll work for you!!!
