I have sort of a...strange question I guess: What exactly are a girl's hips made of, and is there a way to get rid of them once they develop? I mean I know that during puberty, you start getting hips, but I really don't like mine.
And also, I don't like the fact that my thighs touch when I walk or just stand with my legs parallel to each other. What can I do about this?

Sorry, there's nothing you can do. They're made of bone.
And as for the legs widening thing, as your hips widen, they push your leg bones angling in towards eachother, which is why your thighs touch. You can't do much to make that any better too, really all you can do is hope you get taller or lose a bit of weight down by your legs, if you can even do that.

Dear Advicenators,
One and a half years ago my brother *Henry* was diagnosed with hemophilia, which means that his blood does not clot normally. If he gets a cut, it's really hard to stop the bleeding. If he loses too much blood, he could die if the blood is not replenished.
Henry and I always liked to spend time together (he's two years older than me). We'd ride bikes to the park and shoot basketball hoops. He couldn't be too active, but he was my best friend and I felt safe around him.
Anyway, he lost a lot of blood one day, and was taken to the doctor for another blood injection. The horrible part was, that the person who had donated that blood was carrying the AIDS virus. The doctor proclaimed that Henry now had AIDS.
Henry is 15 years old, is in diapers, and must be fed through an IV or a tube. He has about 4 months left to live. My entire family is sad, and angry about it. My parents must monitor him all the time, so I always have to get a ride to my volleyball games. All three of us never have extra time, because we are always there for Henry and when he must be hospitalized. I had to drop out of volleyball for him.
Henry has been the butt of the jokes from the kids at school lately. They make fun of the fact that he has been in diapers. They are unaware of the fact that his brain is slowly being devoured, and he can't feed himself. The AIDS is tearing the whole family apart. But luckily, my friends are there to console me, but I always feel resentment towards the cruel kids at school. Can I please have some suggestions on what to do about that?
Anyway, as I am spending my last Christmas with my brother, I have no idea what present to give to him. Could I please have some ideas? I want it to be special and something he'll remember when he goes to Heaven.
Also, how can I comfort / cheer up my parents? They have been having lots of mood swings lately and have been very stressed.

I understand it's very hard to give up your son for adoption and I'm not saying you don't love him but you need to realize that your son will live a happy life if his parents are happy together.
If you really can't that much though, the guy you're currently with has to go, because you two can't support the child with a good relationship together.

hi, next month i have my first appointment for the gnyo, becuase im 15 and have had my period irregular since i starting getting it 4 years ago,so my mom made me an appt...so anyway my concern is that, a couple months ago my boyfirend and I of 9 months decided to take are relationship a little farther and he fingered me, quite intensly and has done it a couple times..(but I have never had sex, and dont plan on it anytime soon)I am worried that the gyno will tell my mom,(becuase i know the gyno will be able to tell,becuase i am quite stretched out from it) and i really dont think that my mom wants to hear "oh by the way your daughter has been fingered" and she will be quite dissapointed in me. If i ask should the gyno keep my information confidential?
Firstly, the doctor is not allowed to tell your mother anything you don't want him/her to.
You can ask your mother to step out of the room at any time during the appointment, you can even ask her to sit the entire thing out because it's your body and it's personal to you. Just tell her you're uncomfortable with her being there.

If you two are having serious problems staying together then maybe you need to consider splitting up with the father, and giving the child up for adoption.
Try and act as mature as possible, because you have a kid now. If you can't do that then you need to give up the kid for adoption.
You're only 18, and you don't seem fit to be raising the kid yourself, and I can only assume that the father is the same, seeing how you're both young. You have to decide what's best for the kid in your own judgment.
Can you really maintain a relationship with the father that supports the child with a strong parent-son/daughter relationship? You don't want to have to make the kid live a crappy life.

Back in August I missed the registration date to go back to school. (I should be a junior in high school.) I was pretty much just having a bad year and didn't care about going back so I've been out of school all this year. I was wondering if I could go back now or if I would have to wait until next year to go back. I always thought my wife liked my body. But recently, in front of a whole group of friends, she stated that I'm "not allowed" to wear a swimsuit, which got a laugh. She then expounded on this, stating that I am "very white, and very hairy, and when I wear my work shorts, I get a "tan line" from just above my knees, to just below them. This shows in my swimsuit. Everyone thought it was really funny but me.

I think she let the truth slip out but I think it was in a constructive criticism sort of thing -- that's part of being married.
You should probably ask her about it and try and find out for sure if she really meant it. Her opinion of you and the way she views you is very important for you to know, it shouldn't be kept a secret by her.
But if she was just joking everything should be fine, but you should mention that you didn't appreciate how she did it infront of your friends.

i put this under Random Weirdos cause it doesnt really fit anywhere else. every winter i get painful dry skin on my hands. the skin cracks, splits then bleeds. it is only my hands and only in the winter! lotion helps a little, for about 10 min, but then my hands hurt again! what can i do/put on my hands?!

Well, let me start off by saying me and my best friend camaran have been best friends forever. Well, over the years her mother, Tara, has been having some prblems. She is overweight, smokes, and drinks. Well, about a month ago she got into a car accident from "Drinking Under the Influence". The police scheduled her to have a court day yesterday. But with her illness symptoms, she couldn't make it show she wrote a letter to the judge. Obviously they didn't care and had her arrested for not going to court. She was in jail all last night, but was let out this afternoon. Now they're rescheduling her court date sometime in January. After court she is going to be arrested and go to jail for "Drinking Under the Influence" and causing harm to another person. (she hit the other car when she was drunk and the person who she hit had to go to the hospital)
She probably is hiding some feelings from you, unless there is some aspect to the relationship between her mother and herself that you don't know of yet; maybe she thinks the jailtime will set her mother straight and prevent a similar incident from occuring again.
If she is hiding some emotion then it will become obvious over time as she'll look worse, talk to people less, and other anti-social things.
As of now, I wouldn't try to push any thing out of her until you start seeing some of those things I just mentioned; you're her best friend so you're obligated to be on the lookout. Just stick near her for now, and let things develop.
