Back in August I missed the registration date to go back to school. (I should be a junior in high school.) I was pretty much just having a bad year and didn't care about going back so I've been out of school all this year. I was wondering if I could go back now or if I would have to wait until next year to go back. I could make up the work that I've missed instead of just waiting until next year and being a whole year behind.

Or maybe you could ask about going to school now and taking summer school and getting full credit or whatever. I would talk to the principles about that [ bAhAmAmA0250's advice column | Ask bAhAmAmA0250 A Question ]

I'm going tomorrow to talk to the counselors and see if I can make up the semester of work I've missed at home and come back when I'm ready. Although after being a drop-out it may be harder then you think to get back into your school. You may find yourself at an adult education center to get you GED. But I agree, the sooner you do something about it, the better. [ jbdreamer's advice column | Ask jbdreamer A Question ]

So go see someone at the school and show them how much you want to carry on...
mysticpixie05 answered Wednesday December 15 2004, 9:26 am: you might wanna try homeschooling. that way you can work at your own pace with things. this might make things a little easier on you. or if you really want to go back to school then talk to your school. i dont know how your school ditrict works. i dint know how they will handle this situation. but the least you can do is try to go back. so talk to them and see what they can do. Scribble answered Wednesday December 15 2004, 7:48 am: I'm from England so I don't know how High School works. Over here you HAVE to attend school until a certain age and if you don't you get fined. But after that date, you can enrol in a college and get the same qualifications as you would in school at any age, so I dont see why you couldn't just go back. Talk to your local education officer or the principal of the High School. Or alternatively, look in the library for information, they normally have stuff like this. Shaylee answered Wednesday December 15 2004, 12:45 am: Home schooling might be a great way to do it as you can work as hard and pace yourself as you like. This might be a really good option for you.
However another way would be to talk to your school about it, they might let you just join in the class without a bother to it, they might mind. Its really up to them, I know a friend of mine went on an exchange for half a year and the school didn't mind that she had missed half a year of work- as long as she was willing to work hard and catch up. This isn't standard procedure because most people would just have enrolled before hand- so we can't tell you what the school will say. So bascially just turn up- or get your parents to make a call to the school and see what can be done. You might feel uncomfortable as you haven't learnt anything so do it at home but then again it would be nice to see your friends again. Get your parents to ring up the school and you can have a talk with them. Most likely you can just join a class as long as you work hard- keep up your education at all costs, it truly will get you places. [ Shaylee's advice column | Ask Shaylee A Question ]
