When is the best time to do sit ups?
-before breakfast (when I wake up)
-after breakfast
-before lunch
-after lunch
-before dinner
-after dinner
-between lunch and dinner
-before bed time
And how many should you do in a day just to be fit?
it really doesn't matter when you do them. so i guess whenever you have the most time. maybe switch it up every now and then?
i do about 150 crunches everyday plus some other ab exercises and i always do mine before bed. but thats just me and when i have the time. i do them during the commercials of my favorite tv shows :]
just do whatever feels right for you :]
oh and on how many, i would start out small. maybe 50 a day. if that is too hard to do all at once then split it up into 25 times twice a day. then after you feel you can do more try 100. but don't push yourself too hard. i wouldn't exceed doing more than 200 a day. you don't want to hurt your stomach muscles.

ok i need help. i have no idea which class to choose. i thought about pilates because its to tone your body, which is what i want. but i also want to lose weight. oh yeah and im 15 years old, do you think theyd let me in a class? i just think ill feel wierd with like a bunch of 30 year olds
pilates are always a good exercise to do :] but if you are afraid of being the only teenager in the class you could either ask one of your friends to sign up with you or you would ask before you sign up if any other teenagers signed up for that class yet.
okay im 14 and im about 5' 2'' and 97 lbs. these guys at school keep calling me anorexic and i want to take it as a compliment but its getting annoying because they always shove food at my table at lunch. i usually dont eat at lunch because im not hungry. (we have lunch early and i eat breakfast) what can i do to make them stop?

why don't you try eating a smaller breakfast that way you have room to eat something for lunch. even if its small, you're still eating and it will probalby get them to shut up.
try eating a small bowl of cereal for breakfast, and for lunch pack a yogurt & fruit & a snack.

i have cramps...all the time!! Before...during and after my period...and they are really bad...they hurt and i m sick of them!!! wat do i do
I personally don't get bad cramps during my period, but my sister used to. You can try taking Midol or Pamprin, which is made for girls who get period cramps, but for my sister Advil worked the best. Apparently if you read the active ingredients Advil has more pain killers in it then Midol does.
But if these things don't work for you, talk to your doctor. your best bet might be birth control pills. my sister started using them due to her bad cramps. and now they are gone!

no you don't have to be overweight to have cankles. it just means that your ankles aren't as toned as some peoples.

everyone says cardio is the way to lose weight.
well is ddr considered cardio?
cos i like playing it, but like i dont like running.
so could i play ddr and still be doing cardio then do like squats and crunches on the ablounge to tone the muscles?

YES! actually DDR is a great (and fun) way to exercise =]
i don't know about your versio of DDR, but my version has a workout mode on it where i can choose a calorie goal and dance until i reach it.
Just do DDR for a while, and then do about 50 crunches and 50 squats and then stretch! and your good to go =]

and i want to loose 20-30 pounds by april or so.

first off no, you can not loose 11 pounds every 2 weeks. because then you would be losing about 5 pounds per week. at first you might be able to loose 5 pounds for about the first 2 weeks. but after that you will only be able to loose about 2-3 pounds safely a week.
for foods. just watch your calories. just eat what you already are in moderation. avoid junk foods, SODA (thats a big one, if you drink a lot of soda already, just cutting that alone will make you loose weight), and drinks LOTS of water (about 8 glasses a day). also avoid bad snacks. when you do eat a snack eat fruit and vegetables. here is a hint: apples and celery are NEGATIVE calories. yes thats right negative calories. it takes you more calories to eat and digest them then they actually contain =]
for exercise try running or do some form of cardio. they will be the most effective. if you want to slim down your stomach try doing crunch and bicycles.

i want to do palaties or yoga i'm not sure which one is best for me though. i'm a soccer player 15/f and i wanna becaome more flexible and i'm hoping one of them will help me shed a few pounds in my stomach and thigh area. which one woul dyou suggest..and i'll probably just go to best buy and buy a dvd workout thingy
i would go with palaties because yoga is more stretching but palaties is actually exercising and moving around.

i've actually heard that jeans that either have no butt pockets or jeans that have flaps for the back pockets make your butt look bigger.

We start a cross country run tomorrow...it's around 2 nad a bit miles. But i have no stamina what so ever. I am probably one of the fastest people in our year, but i can't run for ages.
What are ways to improve stamina ?
want to know what really helps me? listen to music while you run. if your allowed bring your ipod/MP3 player to listen to while you run. listen to some fast paced songs and this will help you keep running and forget about what your doing. this way you don't realize that your tired =]

well there is no way to lose it like really fast. but you can lose about 3 pounds in one week. it really depends on your body.
you should probably cut back on junk food and stop drinking soda all together. if you drink a lot of soda, then stopping will help you lose weight fast. you should try eating more fruit, drinking milk, eating more fiber, and never skip breakfast. i actually read somewhere that people who eat breakfast are thinner than people who skip breakfast. here is just a sample meal plan:
BREAKFAST: a bowl of high fiber ceral with skim or low fat milk. and a piece of fruit of your choice. this will give you fiber, calcium, and energy all in one meal =]
LUNCH: try a turkey and low fat cheese sandwhich on wheat bread. then eat a piece of fruit, and maybe a small snack like a few pretzels or sugar free jello.
DINNER: if your parents cook dinner then just eat one serving of whatever they make and try cutting down on the amount of butter and salt you put on your foods. another healthy trick is to use tomatoe sauce on spaghetti instead of butter and salt.
SNACK: try eating some low fat yogurt, or a healthy granola bar (try Quaker Chewy Bars in the 90 calorie packs)
TIP: drink a lot of water! it is recommended to drink about 64 ounces of water a day. water helps flush out your body. so drink up!
now you should probably exercise as well. try doing crunches, squats, bicycles, or any other exercise about 3 days a week. then on your off days do a cardio workout such as running, jogging, dancing, pilates, DDR, or even riding a bike.
i know you said you are not patient...but there is no miracle solution out their or why else would there be any overweight people left?? so really patience is the key and if you cave and eat badly for a day or two don't get discouraged and quit...just steer yourself back on track.
also don't let this weight thing control your life. for example if your at a party don't just sit there and not eat, go ahead and eat that piece of cake and drink soda...just don't go overboard. try one piece of cake and one soda then switch to water or juice.

are you the cheerleader who asked about losing weight? sorry but you didn't say who you were and i answer a lot of questions. but asuming you are then yes i have done some of those things before. i know that cutting down on junk food really helps. currently since i eat a lot less junk food then i used to i weight a lot less. and soda is just unneccisary calories. i used to drink a lot of soda too. i drank a can of pepsi every night. but now i only occasionaly drink a diet coke. so i do know from personal experience that not drinking soda does help.
well since you couldn't practice for 6 weeks that might be the reason that you have gained weight. try doing some extra exercises at home to make up for the practices that you missed. trying going for a jog or doing some crunches at night. but don't overdo it or else you will just gain muscle and then you won't lose any weight.

well since you're probably already exercising enough since your a cheerleader, i would take a look at what your eating. try cutting down on your snacks, stop drinking soda (if you are), and don't eat after 6:00 at night. if you happen to eat dinner after 6:00 then just don't eat anything after dinner.

i'm 15, 5'3", and i weight 106 and i STILL have a little pouch of fat below my belly button. i mean my pouch is small but it is still there. so the point to this is that your weight is not what makes you thin or fat.
but anyways on to you =] for your stomach do crunchs (like the girl below me said) and also do bicycles.

and ive never needed to work out
i eat alot

but im unhappy with mythighs
because i hate the fact that they touch when i walk

to get nice legs in a fun way join a dance class or a pilates class. i do jazz and tap dance and i have great legs (not bragging, but people have told me that i do). dancing is the only sport that i do all year long. i also do field hockey for two monthes in the fall, but i think that dance is what has given me my nice legs.

weights work wonders! start with something light, like a 5 pound weight. you should hold in in your right hand and then put your arm behind your right shoulder (kinda like if you had an itch on your back right behind your right shoulder). then just lift the weight up to about where your shoulder is and then back down again. do this maybe 25 times with your right arm and then 25 times with your left arm. after about a week or so move up to a heavier weight, or if that is too heavy, then just increase the number of reps you do (like instead of 25 go for 50)

Ok, so i'm not like tottaly fat or anything. but i am big. my weight is around 160( a little more, but bettween 160 and 170). i want to loose weight but everytime i try, it never works. i've tried to stop eating junk food, but it only works for about a day. and in P.E. we always run a mile and i want to have a good time and not be embarresed infront of others. what do i do?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???????
you shouldn't start out by just cutting junk food all together. if you just cut junk food, then that will make you want it even more. you should start by only cutting calories a little. like for breakfast, try eating a bowl of healthy cereal (like cheerios or a cereal high in fiber), and if you can use skim milk. for lunch cut out one of the snacks you used to eat with lunch and replace it with a piece of fruit (apple, peach, pinapple, etc). like if you used to eat a sandwhich, chips, and juice. try eating a sandwhich (perferably on wheat bread), with an apple, and water. drink about 8 eight-ounce glasses of water per day. water helps flush out your body. for dinner try to stick with having only one helping of food. don't totally deprive yourself of junk food, just limit yourself. start out by just eating a couple chips instead of a huge bowl of them. another thing you could do is instead of eating a greasy junk food like chips replace them with pretzels.
just start out slow and work your way up. you will also need to exercise to lose weight and get in shape for P.E. try going for a brisk walk or jog. or if you have a treadmill you could do that. or you could ride a bike. and if you have DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) that is a fun way to exercise. i know that on DDR there is a workout mode that tells you how many calories you are burning and you can set a goal on there.

I'm sorta pale and have dark hair so alot of people asume I'm goth and it really ticks me off! I just dont like outdoor activities and have a huge fear of bugs...I even think pale guys are way cute! I'm afraid maybe a guy wont think I'm as pretty because of my skintone...which isnt PAPER white I'm part native american so even when my skin is VERY base there is a little color in it and I have freckles. I dont know...I'm just worried guys wont think of me as cute/hot because of it..help?
if it really bothers you, then don't wear dark eyeliner, and wear lots of pretty colors. and if guys only judge you by your appearance then they aren't worth it anyway.
