Q: Do you usually use pads or tampons? Do you know any brands that work good?

Hahah, well it always depends on what kind of period you have. My period is always very heavy the first few days. Like, I'm talking REALLY heeavy. So I'm forced to wear pads majority of the time, because tampons just don't cut it for me...and If I do wear tampons then I have to keep changing them every hour...which doesn't happen. I always use the brand 'Always' And I usually go with the overnight ones for everyday. But, again, I'm not sure how your period is. If it's lighter you can get the lighter version pads. I use Always for tampons as well. I go for the regular size.

Q: my boyfriend is 14 and will be 15 in a month and im 15. we've done everything but sex(hj,bj,finger,eat out).
we both want to have sex, but when i actually think it over i'm scared out of my mind.
i DO NOT want any STD's and i definitely do not!!!!!!!! want to get/be pregnant.
is this a good idea?
he will use a condom but i dont know, i'm still worried.
plus i'm alergic to laytex gloves but not laytex like balloons and stuff so do you think i will have a reaction to condoms??
i will not go to my doctor for anything so PLEASE HELP ME OUT!

Girl! You're only fourteen! Stop the hormones! They seem to be taking over your life! Lol. It's okay to wait for certain things. Fourteen is definitely NOT a good age to have sex...there is definitely a chance you could have an infection or even get pregnant! Wait a few years...if you're still with this dude then sure try it out I guess.

you might be able to waitress at some random little restaurant if its like a small non-franchised business. Also, you probably could get a job at the grocery store stocking things or bringing in carts...i'm pretty sure mcdonalds would not care haha. Hmmm, if you need other help visit my columnnn..

Q: Ok, so i got in this ridiculous fight with my friend in the beg. of school, right? And we havent really talked...at all since then. And i REALLY regret everything i said because i was just mad with other things and took it out on her. and now she might move to like..illinois or something..something with potatoes...and i want to become friends with her again but she ignores me.
Do you think i should try to become friends with her or just be "nice" even if she kinda, sorta doesnt like me at all? Thanksssss ....

PS- Do you know when they're actually going to show a new Hannah Montana? Seriously. I am in love with that show and they keep showing re-runs every friday night. RAWR. Thanks again!!

hey if you really want to be friends with her again why not give it a shot? Tell her you were really angry and stuff from other things and that you didnt mean anything you said. If she still ignores you well, at least you tried right? Sometimes we all say things we don't mean so it's not anything new. Just say you're sorry, and hope she listens! =]

Q: to start a career in acting would it be best to get an agent?.. if so.. how much are they and where can i get a good one? are there any other ways to get started? thank you!

Hey to start your acting career you should really start at your local community theater. Maybe take a few classes. Be in a few plays and maybe in your highschool or middle school or wherever be in school plays! Oh By the way AGENTS DON'T COST! Yep you read that right. They don't cost. Usually agents look for experience on your resume to see if they would like to represent you. If they do they'll call you and say they will. Then they will look for auditions for you. If you get a job they get a certain amount of money i think around 15-20% of what you earn. See? They dont cost they just take a percentage of what you make on your acting career. Hope I helped! Q: i cant get over my fear of singing infront of people. my dream is when io finish college is to move to California and become a singer and actressand if that doesnt work then like a phsycologist for kids. i cant even sing infront of my own family. if done it infront of three of my friends but that was it and i wanna sing infront of my mom because i get my talent from her. she has the best voice. i wanna do the talent show too but i cant do that. i get real embarresed when i try singing in the shower cause if my dad hears me hell go,"sing brianna sing," and then that makes me nervous and then i stop. i really want to become a singer. i can act just fine. i do it in a heart beat. i dont get nervous or anything. ive been in chior and everything. so what can i do to get over my fear. ive tried singing in the shower and in my room. i only sing by myself too. when nobody is home. so if you have any answers please tell me!! thatks to everyone who helps!!!

I used to be like that. Where I was scared to sing even in front of my family. But you should tell your parents not to disturb you when you're practicing your singing. Like when he said sing brianna sing that just makes you more embarassed. You should tell them that you will practice a song and sing it at the end of the week for them maybe on like a friday or saturday night. And they have to promise not to say anything or come in when you're singing. So that you'll be all ready when the time comes to perform. It's a start so you should try it :)

Q: Okay, I'm friends with benifits with my bestfriends boyfriend!him and i were friends with benifits before they started dating though!, His name is Houston, And he is so in love with me, and recently he told me he wanted to be more than friends with benifits with me. He's charming, hot, nice, flirty, cute, tall, muscular, and just wow, hot! But he is going out with one of my BESTFRIENDS now and i don't know what to do, him and i are still friends with benifits, even though he is dating my bestfriend! AHH! I know he doesn't like her though because he told me that he loves me and he is gonna break up with her, and I guess you could say, I'm way more popular than my friend, i get every guy i want, and she hardly gets any guy, so i don't want to like, ruin her relationship, but like, i had him first! But I'm the kind of girl that if a girls boyfriend is interested in me, I will go after him, too, ( If he's cute)! But usually the guy isn't going out with my best-friend! So I don't know what to do, and I told my friend EVERYTHING that has happened between him and I, and she's still my friend, and she understands, but Houston and my friend are still dating, and I like him a lot, and she likes him a lot, and before they were going out, him and I were friends with benifits, so really I had him first! But I don't know what to do, I can't tell her that I had him first because she would be sad! HELP ME MARISSA! I NEED YOUR GREAT ADVICE!

hey thanks for the compliment first of all. Well, you really like this guy? Or is he just another guy you will go out with for maybe a few days and then break up with. I mean your friend sounds really good. She sounds like a true friend because she did understand what you told her. But you know part of being best friends is not keeping secrets. You have to be completely honest with your friend. You should tell her. And if she's okay with that then that's good. If she's not just give her awhile to cool off and then you guys might be cool again. You could also tell her that you could maybe set her up with someone else or even try to help her find somebody else. That would be nice since you are way more popular than her. She would be very thankful if you found her somebody else. Then maybe you guys could double date sometime ;)

hey wow! we have lots in common! I have like downloaded all of the Hannah Montana Episodes onto my computer lol. I love it to death. Hmmm. I love Miley Cyrus she is such a good actress and has such an amazing voice. YES, i think dylan and cole are veryyyyyyyyyy hot! My friend and I love hannah montana and miley cyrus and we also love Rachel Mcadams. They are both amazing. I watch disneychannel Soooo much lol.

okay well the other day my best friend whitney was talking to my other best friend jael on the fone...im closser to whitney but like them both. and jael told whitney that one of my friends was talking about me behind my back saying i was annyoing and stuff. of course being a good friend whitney told me..i wanted to know who it was so i confronted jael...we got into this huge argument cuz she woiuldnt tell me who was talking about me. i told her that it was bad that the person was talkin about me but it was worse knowing that she was letting it happen. she told me that shes just keeping her word to the other person but its really bothering me....please help!

If somethings hurting you she should definetly spill. Ask her if keeping her promise to the girl is worth making you suffer. It's one thing to know that someone is talking about one of your friends behind their backs and another when you know who it is and won't tell them. That's just mean and RUDE. Q: Ok, hopefully this isn't annoying, but I read your column and I liked your advice, A LOT! So I would like your advice! I like this guy named Thomas, he's 16, and he's gonna be a Junior in High School. I'm 13, only gonna be in 8th grade. He's so perfect, and I know he likes me, too because when he is driving in his truck he makes a point to just stop and say hi, and when he is in his bedroom, when I walk past his house to go to my friends house, he runs outside, sometimes in just boxers, just to say hi, and he ALWAYZ asks for a hug, like, always! And I live in a VERY small town, not even 1000 people, and In our Jr/Sr High School, most couples are three years apart, and we are too, but idk, I just need help, he's way older than me, and another problem is that he has slept with (had sex with), half the girls in our Jr/Sr High School. He's everything I look for in a guy, and I just don't know what to do, PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Hey if you really like him then you should go out with him. But the warning I'm going to give you is that he might want to you to have sex with him. I mean look at the pattern he's slept with a lot of the girls from the jr/sr high school. Has he gone out with those girls? But yes i think he likes you by the way you've described what he's done. It's really up to you if you want to go out with him. But remember relationships that have age difference are kind of harder because if the guy is older he sort of EXPECTS things if you know what I mean. So it's up to you. I hope you make the right decision :)

If you don't feel comfortable around someone (ESPECIALLY A FRIEND) then you should just not hang out with her anymore. If you said something she might say something nasty to you so just don't say anything hun :)

Q: ok so I got my period about 1 and half years ago in february 15,2005 but that was the only time. it nvr came back once a month and stuff it nvr came back...is this normal?

It's normal to not get your period regularly when you first get it. But it'll start coming regularly after the first year or so.

Q: 14/f. i really don't want to come off as full of myself or anything because i'm definitaly not. but i've kinda started to notice that a lot of guys stare at me (in a good way lol), or check me out. like at the beach two REALLY hot guys were checking me out (and its not like i have a really good body or anything like that). even my parents noticed them checking me out. and i've been noticing this going on a lot lately. but the problem is that nobody even notices me like that at school. i think it is because i'm shy.

so my question is...do you think that the guys at my school don't notice me like the other guys do because they actually know my personality and they know that i'm shy? if so, what can i do to get them to notice me like other guys do?

hey the guys at the beach had to have a reason for checking you out. Give yourself more credit. You have to be pretty :) You don't really sound full of yourself believe me i know this girl (she's my friend) and she's totally full of herself. Even when guys AREN'T staring at her she says they are and shes always complimenting herself. It's actually really scary. But maybe the guys at school think you're really pretty but maybe they are intimidated to go up to you and talk or flirt. Have you ever been mean to a guy before? Or blew him off? Guys watch for those things when they have a crush on somebody and if the girl blows a guy off the guy gets too scared to go up to the girl. So what do you have to lose if you go up to somebody at your school and talk? Maybe more guys will start coming up to you and talking/flirting! I love the quote - "Why go through life unnoticed." I use it a lot (maybe even on here Lol). But it's definetly true you should live everyday like it's your last and you should'nt regret not doing something that you could have done!

Q: hey im gonna start 8th grade in august, and i still havent gotten my period. is this normal??

Yes it's normal some girls dont get theres until they are at least 17 or 18! But you are VERY lucky you dont have it. It's a nuissance believe me. Your lucky you dont have to deal with cramps or changing pads or leaking through. So just relax and enjoy not having it :)

Q: is there any way to relieve menstrual cramps?
i've taken advil, and i'm home alone so i can't go and get midol or anything else.
but the advil doesn'thelp.
and... i know everyone says those rice heating bags and putting them on your stomach, but i don't have one.
anyone have ideas??

What I do for cramps. If I have midol i take it but midol never seems to help me so it's basically useless for me anyways. Umm..i turn on a REGULAR heating pad not rice or whatever and i put it on my bed or the couch and i just lay down and try to relax. Or if it's really bad i'll do pilates cuz it gets you stretched out and it DOES help. :)

Q: is it worth going to a dermatologist for acne? i have little acne - but a lot of blackheads.should i get a facial for the black heads? i just dont know what to do with my face any more!!! what are some REALLY REALLY good brands to fight away acne and blackheads? any help is appreciated- thanks!

For some people Pro activ works. For others it doesn't. But its defintely recommended. It works for the first few weeks but then it stops but it clears it up so you can start over with a clean face. Ummm i've been using something called Nature's Cure. It's really good. My parents have told me that my face looks clearer. You can get it at drugstores. You take a pill in the morning and at night. But it's not a drug it's made with natural ingredients. Then theres a face cream you put on at night. Kay good luck :)

Q: ok im scared senseless of using a tampon like im jus scared itll hurt. ive tried puttin one in like 3 times & i cant even do it bc i tense up so bad. ive heard people say that you cant even feel it when its in but ive also heard ppl say you can feel it just enough to tell its inside you soo which is it???

I had the same problem. I really wanted to go swimming but I was scared to death to put one in. It says on the instructions that it's very difficult to put it in if you're not relaxed. So RELAX it doesn't hurt. If you put it in the wrong spot and push it might but you have to get it in the right spot. Usually people spread their legs on the toilet to insert it. When you push it in the right spot it shoould just slide in. If you change tampons too much it starts to hurt your vagina so don't wear them day after day after day. But you DO need to change them because there are diseases you can get if you dont change them. Hope I helped :)
