Being Big

Ok, so i'm not like tottaly fat or anything. but i am big. my weight is around 160( a little more, but bettween 160 and 170). i want to loose weight but everytime i try, it never works. i've tried to stop eating junk food, but it only works for about a day. and in P.E. we always run a mile and i want to have a good time and not be embarresed infront of others. what do i do?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???????

i have Dance Dance Revolution Extreme 2 which is like a dance game. theres a mode on the game that is called workout mode. it keeps track of how many calories you burn. its really fun and you burn calories while youre doing it. i usually play for about an hour a day. for the disc and dance pad its about $60. you can get it for pretty much any game system. PS2, X-Box, etc.

another thing i would reccomend is joining the YMCA. they have like alot of workout machines. theres a pool you could swim laps in.

i think somethink you should do is get a couple of friends and turn some music on and make up a dance ruteen and add a couple jumping jacks and jogg in place in the middle!!!!!

you dont have to totally cut out all junk food. but instead control your portion sizes. if you havce a craving for something like icecream then have your icecream but you dont need a huge bowl of it. only eat until the craving is gone and then stop.
I've also heard that cutting back on dairy can help you lose weight. like things such as mmilk and cheese.
also cut back on fatty foods and things such a soda.
stop eating 5 hours before you go to bed also. this allows your food to have time to begin to digest. (if you eat and then go straight to bed those calories and carbs are turned directly into fat)

as for getting into shape...
i'd recomend running since you want to be able to run a mile.
start small and work your way up. and remember to keep a steady pace that you are comfertable with. also make sure you stay hydrated while you work out.

you shouldn't start out by just cutting junk food all together. if you just cut junk food, then that will make you want it even more. you should start by only cutting calories a little. like for breakfast, try eating a bowl of healthy cereal (like cheerios or a cereal high in fiber), and if you can use skim milk. for lunch cut out one of the snacks you used to eat with lunch and replace it with a piece of fruit (apple, peach, pinapple, etc). like if you used to eat a sandwhich, chips, and juice. try eating a sandwhich (perferably on wheat bread), with an apple, and water. drink about 8 eight-ounce glasses of water per day. water helps flush out your body. for dinner try to stick with having only one helping of food. don't totally deprive yourself of junk food, just limit yourself. start out by just eating a couple chips instead of a huge bowl of them. another thing you could do is instead of eating a greasy junk food like chips replace them with pretzels.

just start out slow and work your way up. you will also need to exercise to lose weight and get in shape for P.E. try going for a brisk walk or jog. or if you have a treadmill you could do that. or you could ride a bike. and if you have DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) that is a fun way to exercise. i know that on DDR there is a workout mode that tells you how many calories you are burning and you can set a goal on there.
