high school is 1029384756 better than middle school. don't worry about being a freshman either. you won't get picked on unless you're totally obnoxious. [:

Remember the feeling you got when you were scared of moving from elementary to middle school, only to find out that it isn't hard at all? The transition from middle to high school is exactly the same. There's not as much homework, but there's more studying and note-taking. But it's super fun. I'm sad because I'm already halfway done. I remember freshman year like it was yesterday, or even 5 minutes ago.

No one really gives you a hard time [students and teachers included]. So no worries.

Yesterday was my first day of being a freshman and honestly, it's not bad. You will get to see your friends and older kids don't pick on you. In the movies they make high scool seem really bad but it's just for entertainment and it's not really like that. There are cliques and a lot of hall ways lol. Teachers and people will show you where your classes are and you'll catch on pretty quickly. I was also very worried about not having anyone in my class.. like my friends and I was wrong. I know a lot of people in my classes and you will make a lot of new friends. So yeah, high school isn't as bad as people make it seem.

it's not bad. it's quite fun.
i mean, people are mature so obviously they won't do anything bad.
there's some idiots in there that like to scare the freshmen but if you stay with your group of friends, then it's okay.

be happy. have fun. talk to people. and it goes by *so fast* so make the most of it.

it feels like i'm still a freshmen but i'm not.

you're just making it seem bad.
and whatever stories you hear... are wrong.

Don't worry! It really isn't as bad as it seems in the movies and on television. As long as you make good friends (who don't go around doing drugs, breaking the law, or anything like that) and don't misbehave in class, you should be fine.

As far as the classes go, you might want to go to school a little early on the first day and see where your classes are, if your school allows you to do that.
The classes aren't much harder than in middle school, unless you're in honors classes. Those are a bit tougher than standard classes, but it's good to take them.

STUDY. Don't slack off. Even in middle school, you should stay on top of things. But in high school, you definitely have to. Listen to your teachers, too.

The people aren't that bad, either. Just be nice to everyone, and you should be fine. There are more people in high school than in middle school, so some of them will be mean, but just do your own thing and don't let their words get to you. If someone is being mean, it shows that they're insecure.

Stay open to other people. Stay with old friends, but make some new ones, too.

You say you're going to high school in a year, so you just started 8th grade, am I right?
Don't worry about high school now. Enjoy your last year of middle school. 8th grade was a great year, at least for me.

After the first week, everything will fall right into place, I promise.

I hope I helped, and if you have any more questions, feel free to leave one in my inbox!

its fine. dont worry. i was worried too but its really not a big deal. people will say rude things once in a while if you mess up (older students) but its fine. and movies usually arent like real life anyway so try not to look up to those for advice.

High school is not bad. Sure, it's a little more stressful at times, but it's doable. It's actually pretty fun. You get more liberties and there are more fun things to do in school. I loved high school, it was great!

Luck,
Teacup
