My mom decided to get my hair cut to 3 or 4 inches shorter, which devastated me when I saw how short it was. That was about one month ago, and I thought by the end of the summer my hair would be longer because I've only straightened it once since then. I want my hair to be medium-long. But my hair barely grew. It's longer, but still way too short for me. What can I do to make my hair grow faster and longer?
One month is not enough for your hair to have reached the length it was before you got it cut. Some people's hair grows slower than other's, and there isn't much you can do to change it. There are vitamins and supplements you can take such as Biotin (http://www.thinknatural.com/cats/Biotin.htm) which claim to promote hair growth - so you might want to try that. You could also try massaging your scalp daily, as apparently it stimulates blood flow/growth (I'm not entirely sure how it works). Make sure your diet is balanced and healthy, a bad diet will slow down growth. Another tip is to get your hair trimmed regularly. You may think that it's a bit counterproductive but it will keep your ends healthy and will speed up growth.

i've been molested, as a child. it happened often and i've tried so hard to block it out but now i feel like it defines me. nobody knows, i can't say anything nobody will believe me. everybody will hate me. he ruined me. i picture how my life would be if it never happened, the way i am now is horrible. i make so many mistakes just trying to make myself feel better but nothing works. i dont know what to do, i cant talk to anybody. im 16, this happened the summer going into 5th grade then into the year.

Almost a year ago, one of my best friends was moving to another country with his family. At his leaving party, his father molested my other best friend's younger sister. It then came out that her older sister had been abused by him from the age of 8 (she is now 18), in addition to sexual advances on several other women (including my mother). They were going to keep it secret and hope that it went away when he did. He was arrested, charged and is now a registered sex offender serving eight years in prison.
Has this made everything better for them? No, of course not. The emotional pain is still horrible, but now that he has got what he deserves and they now have people to support them, they can begin to move on from their ordeal.
My point is that while this person is still out there and no one knows what you have been through, you can't even begin to move on. I can't stress enough that you need to tell someone. You have done nothing wrong. Of course there will be some people who don't believe you, but there will be many who do and you can only tell the truth.
You've made a big step by telling us here. The next step is to tell a trusted adult, someone that can help you - a teacher, counciller, a parent or relative. It might help if you tell a friend who can then support you with telling one of those adults. There are people there who will help you.
This is probably something that will never fully go away, but that doesn't mean you can't learn from it and become a stronger, happier person.

It's only two more weeks, just tell yourself you're already half way through and that you'll be able to see him soon. Don't count down the days, that will make it seem slower. Instead, keep yourself occupied to take your mind off it. Go out with friends, read, teach yourself to cook etc so that you can impress him when he gets home. If you sit around moping then time will only go slower, you need to get out there and do something. It's only two weeks, you can do it.

I have a really good friend that I've been friends with for a good 4/5 years. I feel like I always want to be around her because she's just so amazing and i love her with all my heart. I'm not a lesbian or anything, she's just always there for me and I love her so much, she's amazing to me. The bad thing about this is when I look at our photos from the past and everything we use to do we did it together, like we were always together and everyone was like "nobody could break them up". Now we're still really good friends and we see each other a lot during the summer cause we're on the same soccer team. But when soccer's over were not going to see each other for like the whole school year because we don't have any classes together ..because let's just say I'm not as academically eligable as she is so I'm not in the advanced classes that she's in. What happened when we both went to high school was we were in NO classes together so we didn't see each other a lot so we started to drift apart. During the summer we're really close cause we're on the same soccer team but then when school starts I rarely see her and I'm afraid we're going to drift apart like we did in the beginning of freshman year (we're going into our sophomore year). I just don't know what to do, and please don't say "IF SHES A GOOD FRIEND THEN SHE WON'T DRIFT AWAY" because i really don't think she means to do it, i just wanna stay close to her because she's one of the best friends i've ever had, and i don't wanna lose her. When you go to high school, friendships always change. I've had the same best friend since I was four and when we started high school, we didn't have any classes together - the maximum number of classes I've had with her is probably about two. Did it make us less close? Not at all. If anything, we're closer than we've ever been. We still see each other at lunch and outside of school.
My point is that your friendship is what you make it. If you go into it thinking you'll drift apart, then you'll be going into it with a negative attitude. She sounds like a good friend, so talk to her about it. Make an effort to see her at lunch if possible, and if it's not, see her outside of school.

You wait.
Like Razhie said, it can be very hard to forgive someone. You might have swindled them out of money, or you could have just insulted them - both are hurtful and both take time to get over.
By apologising, you have shown maturity and remorse, now you have to act on that. Show this person that you are truly sorry for what you have done by continuing to show that you regret and have learnt from your mistake.
Maybe over time this person may forgive you but there is a possibility that they won't. If this is the case then you can't make them, as hurtful as it might be, you just have to accept that you have done everything you can to make it up to them and that they are being the immature one by holding such a strong grudge.
Whatever happens, learn and grow from this mistake and make sure it never happens again.

Personally, I always make a big effort to use correct punctuation, spelling and grammar. This is partially because it's just the way I've been brought up, partially because I want to be a writer (sloppy spelling does not go down too well in that line of work) and partially because I do think it's good to present yourself well.
I'm not saying that forgetting to capitalize makes you unintelligent or incapable of answering questions, those suffering from disabilities such as Dyslexia often find it difficult to use correct spelling/grammar etc but it doesn't make them stupid.
If your answer was good, then of course the fact that you didn't capitalize shouldn't have such a big impact on your rating but the way I see it, if you can, then you should.

I'm 15 and I'm a virgin but I've done other sexual things (the first time when I was about 13). Some I regret, some I don't. The occasions I've regretted have been the ones that meant nothing with people that meant less. The friends I know who aren't virgins don't regret it but it isn't about them. Do what feels right and is safest for you, never rush yourself or try it before you're ready because that will almost definitely end in regret. As cliche as it sounds, whatever happens, ALWAYS use protection.

At what age do teenagers usually get past basic levels of thought and begin thinking more intellectually?What I mean is...when do they start to form their own opinions,have some idea of what they want out of life,and just generally gain a more adult outlook?

Almost immediately I guarantee that you will find a 13-year-old girl who claims to have been through 'so much' in her life. The same girl is then likely to then go on to give terrible advice that shows how immature her outlook really is. No, I'm not saying that all teenage girls are stupid (that would be foolish, being one myself) but in general, they're not as adult as, well, adults.
At the same time, I've seen a fair few people in their 20's here who are no better than those 13-year-old girls. Are they mature? Do they have an 'adult' outlook? Probably not.
Without sounding bigheaded, I've always been told I'm mature for my age and so are the majority of my friends. We're only 15, but we have our own, well thought out opinions on more than just abortion - I'm constantly arguing with a guy I know about politics, as nerdy as it sounds - and we're definitely not stupid. No, of course we're not adults, but there is a big difference between thinking like one and being one. It's not just us who are like that either, I've met people my age on here and in the real world who are probably more mature than plenty of adults you see on the news.
Does that mean that I'm not selfish and stupid sometimes, don't argue with my parents and know how to pay taxes? Of course not, but there are plenty of adults who don't either.
As much as I respect DangerNerd and know that he is older and wiser than me, I don't think that it's possible to pinpoint an exact age like that. You don't have to be young to care about fashions, there are adults who buy them or base their entire careers on it and do incredibly well, sure, some of them are unintelligent and immature, but you find people like that everywhere. It isn't to do with them following what the media says, because everyone does that in one way or another - whether we like that or not.
There are children all over the world who are forced to grow up and gain an adult outlook to look after their siblings and sometimes the rest of their family too. They probably have a whole lot more experience on what it's like to be an adult than a lot of the ones we know.
So when do we gain a more adult outlook? There is no right or wrong age. On average, it's later rather than sooner (although teenagers, of course, know it all) but we can't generalise. It's all based on your experience of the world, how you've been brought up by your parents, taught by your teachers, what you do with your life and how you do it.

There is no right or wrong answer.
Don't shave it all off just to please your partner. If you want to shave it all then that's up to you, everyone's different. Some people like to leave some, others don't want any and there are people who would rather leave it natural. It's your choice.
If you choose to shave it all off, then make sure you use a sharp razor and lots of shaving cream. I also highly reccomend you moisturise the area well with lotion before and after you shave.
Additionally, if and when you sleep with this person, make sure you use a condom, the pill or preferably both.

I seriously doubt he has the regard for your feelings that someone who was truly in love with you should have if he is continuing his relationship with someone else.
Speak to him, tell him exactly how you feel and that if he wants to be with you then this is his chance - make him choose between you and his girlfriend.

Speaking from experience, being rejected is never nice, no matter how polite it is.
First rule; never, EVER say anything like 'you're a great friend' because it's hideously degrading. Obviously, if this girl is already a good friend then it's okay to say something along the lines of 'I don't want to ruin our friendship'.

I do not believe you truly want to commit suicide if you want to 'hook up' with someone before you do.
I don't know you but I think that I can make a pretty educated guess and say that you are not really depressed and this stems from a relationship gone wrong or similar.
I can also guarantee that you are not alone. I know I for one have been in a situation where I've been broken up with for the first time and I've felt that my life is over, but it's not, evidently, or I wouldn't be here telling you this.
Suicide isn't something to joke or pretend to be serious about, it really isn't. Last week a boy who's grandmother is a family friend's mother overdosed and died. She also left behind two small children aged one and two. When I was nine, my mother also attempted to overdose on anti-depressants. Thankfully for me and my family, she failed but the scare was enough to teach me that suicide is not the answer and is not worth the devestation left behind.
Go and talk to someone. A friend, relative, school counciller, teacher...anyone. Just don't kill yourself, or hook up with a guy you don't care for just to feel wanted - it will have the opposite effect.

hi, so how does our (british) voting thing work. the little elections are for your cities government? and the big, generel elections are for primeminister, and leading government? and does the winning government govern the whole of the uk, or do all the parties-labour, conservative,liberal democrats- govern the country? thanx
We have local elections which are held once every year (I believe, you might want to check on that one). The local elections are for choosing councillers for the local area. Say you had a city, within that city there would be many different areas with candidates standing for each of these areas. So nearly every area of the city would have a different counciller elected. For one area, there could be a counciller from the Conservatives, Labour, Liberal Democrats and then smaller parties (e.g Green) as well as independant candidates (people who do not belong to a particular party).
In the local elections, the number of areas won by the different parties is not relevent to the general elections, although it can sometimes be used to predict the outcome.
The general elections are usually held once every four years. In the general elections, the public vote for the party they would like to be in government and these votes go towards seats in the House of Commons. The party who win the largest amount of seats are the party who will govern the country.
In answer to your last question, there is only one party who govern the whole country but the other parties have seats in the House of Commons and still govern areas of the UK.
I hope that made some sort of sense, it's tricky to explain.
