Try tensing up your leg muscles and then poking them. If they feel hard, then it's muscle, and if they feel soft and flabby, there is a layer of fat over the muscle.

There is no type of food that will go to your legs. Excess calories will be stored all over your body as fat deposits, but some people are genetically predisposed to store fat more in some places than in others.

To avoid it, just keep the number of calories you're consuming in a day below the number of calories you're burning.

I did karate for 7 years, and it was great for my health! I've always been overweight, but although I gained weight because of karate, it was all muscle. I ended up looking a lot more toned, and it makes you feel great about yourself.

I ended up getting a black belt for my efforts too... so put as much effort into it as you can, even if it's a little difficult at the beginning, because it's worth it!

A really good book (and series) is Ender's Game, by Orson Scott Card. It's sort of science fiction, but not really to a Battlestar Galactica point. It's very well-written, but not too difficult of a read. I found that I couldn't put it down, and neither could my sister when she read it!

Well, it all depends on your personal beliefs. Personally, I think that although the Bible makes for great guidelines, it should not be taken literally, since times have changed since it was written (Then again I'm an atheist...). The Catholic church has traditionally been against it, but religion is always open to interpretation.

If you're going to try and get money, you should be saving up for school, not wasting money on a revolving door wardrobe. Clothes really aren't that important in the grand scheme of things.

If you want to tutor, you should try applying through your school... I know my high school had lists of tutors that they would give to people who were looking for them. I tutored math students from Grade 10 until I graduated.

Here's what you do... go to a different hairdresser, tell them you want a haircut that will look good for your hair type, give them a rough length restriction. Let them go crazy :) It's what I always do when I get a haircut, that way I get something that works with my hair and doesn't take a lot of effort or products.

It could be a urinary tract infection, caused by irritation due to friction. It's happened to me before, and I know it sucks! Do you have a walk-in clinic nearby? You have to get on antibiotics as soon as possible, and a walk-in will be as fast as it gets.

Other than that, try drinking lots of cranberry juice... it's supposed to have antibacterial properties. Drink lots of water, too.

Pretty much, in my circle of friends we were all preoccupied with getting into post-secondary. We did have parties occasionally, but usually they just involved getting a tub of ice cream and watching movies... none of this drinking and drugs stuff that seems to be everywhere else if you believe Hollywood.

There were the cliques, but really it wasn't such a bad thing. There wasn't the mass clique war thing going on that you hear about... the jocks left the nerds alone, the pretty girls ignored the band geeks, etc.

It wasn't so bad, but it's just an awkward age. A lot of people place a lot of expectations on you, and you're still trying to figure out who you are and what you want to do with your life. That's why a lot of people probably hated high school...

Now, you can definitely get pregnant from having unprotected sex. You never should, even if the guy doesn't come, because there is a good chance of semen entering your body.

The symptoms you have listed don't seem like typical pregnancy symptoms... at your young age, gaining a pound or two is normal. Quite normal. And a stomachache could be caused by everything from stress (which it sounds like you're under) to the flu.

I would say don't worry, because the chances are low that you're pregnant, BUT you should be sure about something like this. If it's been around a month since you had sex, then try taking a pregnancy test. You can buy them from a drugstore without an adult, and although it may be embarassing, it's better than not knowing!

I've been having my hair thinned since I was two... all it is is them cutting extra layers into your hair. It shouldn't cost any more than a hair cut, or last any longer, or damage it any more. Usually they've used these weird razor scissors on me, they look kind of like scissors with combs on the blades.
