Hey Everyone :) I'm Kate and a level 2 mod on here. I've had this account since July 2004, so I've been on here since I was 13! Wow ... crazy for me to think how long ago that was. I will admit I don't check in as often as I once did, but being away at college, being in a sorority, and having a job when I'm not at school is very time consuming. I still try to help out as much as possible, and if you send me a question I WILL answer it. This site helped me a LOT when I was in high school and had a lot of questions, and I'm here to help anyone who needs it :) Feel free to write in my forum or send me a question any time!

I'm really scared. I will soon have to have 2 teeth pulled! I was wondering how much it hurts, can you feel them actually pulling the teeth out, and how long it takes for it to stop hurting after you get them pulled. Please help! I'm really scared!!! I rate 5's by the way.
I'm the master at getting teeth pulled, I once had to have like 3 done at one time!!!! I was so scared, like I was sitting in the dentist chair before the people came in and my teeth were chattering, and I was soooooo nervous. I've had mouth surgeory before, and teeth pulling made me more nervous than the gum surgery. Well, it didn't hurt for me, and I'm no where close to begin able to tolerate pain. Let me just say when I have a phobia of neeedles.. yet Ironically I used to cut myself... maybe that's why I have a needle phobia. But I will seriously hypervenalate. If someone wanted to rob me, screw the gun or the knife, just get a needle and I'll do whatever you want. But for someone as afraid of numbing needles, and as afraid of the dentist as I am, and I don't think teeth pulling is that bad, it'll be fine for you. They sit you back in the chair, then numb you, and when they stick the needle in, there's a little pinch, but it's all good, then it takes 5 minutes or so for the stuff to work, and then they get to work. You can feel them like pushing on your teeth, but there's no actual pain. Like if someone was to cut your arm with a knife, you could feel the knife pushing against your skin, but you can actually feel the scrape. I think the worst part is being numb, since the numbing takes hours to wear off. And there's blood. They give you gauze that they put in your mouth, then depending on how much you bleed (it varies every time) you change the gauze every few hours or so. And you can't use a straw for a few days, and no spitting, if you wanna get the bloody saliva out of your mouth, you have to drool it out (EWWW ha ha. ) I hate the numb thing because it's hard to eat and drink, and your face feels completely terrible. That in my opinion is the worst part. But you'll be fine. It was not normal at all for your friend to have experienced that much pain. She must have broken one of the rules, and the black the openend up and caused a nerve to get hit. It's very important that you follow the rules they give you, it's not like braces, you can't bend the rules, you have to follow the rules they give. Well if you want to go out with someone older I think 16 should be the limit unless you're super close to 15, then 17. Trust me, I'm your age and I dated an 18 year old... don't get into it with someone that's 18+ unless you're 16+ it isn't worth it. But if you're under 18 and your boyfriend/girlfriend is 18+ then they legally can not (at least in some states) be more than 4-5 years older than you.

Nobody knows this... yet lots of my friends look at my column, so it will all be out in the open... I'm same age, and I haven't gotten mine yet either. My doctor just told me I was lucky. If you are thin or athletic, then it's completely normal for you to not even get it until you're 16 or older. My doctor told me I didn't start because I got all messed up after I was anorexic, but there are lots of people I know who didn't even start until 17 years old. All I can say is we're lucky, we don't have cramps, we don't have to worry about not wearing white pants/skirts because of leaks, and all that 'good' stuff. Well hope I made you feel better. Be lucky you don't have it.

My sister got her "I need a hug" shirt at hot topic. They also have a lot of cute other shirts like that. They also have a lot of harry potter, and tinkerbell, and happy bunny (i love that bunny ;-p) I also like clothes at aripostle. I think they're pretty cute with cute slogans and stuff. ok.. i put on my base and the rest of my makeup..and my face just seems shiney, like its reflecting the light. I have no idea what that means or how i can make it not shiney..any ideas?
Did you use any shimmer powder, or any regular powder that has sparkles in it? If not, then it could be the light, or it could be that you used too much. Take a tissue or a little bit of toilet paper or something, and just like super super gently whipe i across your face, like barely let it touch your face. It's get of most of like the sparkles, and it might take off a small amount of the base and blush or anything, but usually it'll only take off if you use too much. It'll make it less shiny... unless it was just the light, then it'll just make it look better. Sorry if it doesn't work, or if your confused with my answer, but it works for me. Good luck.
I'm a thirteen year old female. Recently Iv'e started eating super healthy. When I'm at home eating the food there, or eating foods with nutrition information I'm fine, but whenever I eat at someone else's house or eat out and the food served looks fattening or sugary I panic. I don't know whats in it and so on. Sometimes I make up excuses for not eating things. My friends jokingly said I was anorexic before. That didn't bother me. However, now they have started to say it seriously and my own mum said I was eating in an anorexic way. I know people suffering from anorexia have poor self image, but I think I am at a perfect weight. Please tell me if I am anorexic or not. Honestly.
Wow, I don't know how I can top Mandee's answer, but I don't think you're anorexic. My opinion might matter since I used to be anorexic. Some doctors will also consider anorexia being severly underweight, not just the whole not eating factor. You might have some type of eating disorder, but anorexia isn't it. You might want to talk to your doctor about your eating phobia. I think that's what it is, more of a fear of eating unhealthy foods. Truly, no, not anorexia. But yes, some type of food phobia, or some other type of eating disorder. I would definitley talk to a parent or councilor or doctor to see what you can do about your phobia.

Well like it letters, the X means hugs, and the O means kisses. It can also just be something decorative. But pretty much it's just saying Hugs and kisses.

Very slim chances since all it did was touch it, but as you say, maybe went in a little, yes it is possible to get pregnant.

If you mean about dating, then don't date someone over 18 if you're under 18 unless you're 17.

Save and print the conversations you are having, and take them to the principle at school. That's just about all. Or you can ignore her. Thought I'm not taking you as seriously since you "laughed out loud" at the end. What's so funny about someone wanting to kick your butt at school. I had a friend who I ticked off really bad, and there were rumors that she wanted to kick my butt, I knew she'd win so I was scared as all, my mom found out and flippin called the school (i was super mad) it was all a misunderstanding though, what those people told me was a complete lie. But your school does not want fights to happen, so you warn them before one could possibly brake out. Seriously, print out the conversations you are having, when you get to school ask to see the principle, or like if you have seperate administrators, or if you want to see your guidance councilor, or just a teacher you'd trust talking to, and show them the conversations. Hey. I'm a cashier at a store thats like Linens and Things. Its my first job (i'm sixteen) and I've realized that its not the kind of job I want. I don't like the fact that its a big place and its busy allll the time. I enjoy interacting with my co workers. At my place, I feel like I can't do that. We're all busy helping out the customers, which is good... but I feel like I don't know the people I work with well. What are some good places to work at, where you're working...but you still have opportunities to get to know your co-workers? Preferably not a fast food restaraunt, a grocery store, or big places. I want something small and fun. I was thinking about working at a tanning salon?? Does anyone have any good ideas?
Well a fun little places to work can be like small stores in the mall. Such as Aripostle, American Eagle, Hot Topic, PacSun, ColdStone creamery (that'd be a fun place to work to) you can work in Claire's/Icing (not too packed, and a very small place)
Hope you actually know what some of those places are. I guess it all depends where you live. Sorry if I'm not helpful, but I hope I was!

Heck yes it's bad. I used to have a terrible habit of doing it. I didn't do it for attention either, I had some stuff going on, and it really did help. It sounds crazy that hurting yourself relieves pain, but it did work. It's very dangerous though. You could pop a vain, and that's it, you're done. You should seek help. I got help, sort of. I told someone, and I also told that someone when I was contemplating the thought of suicide. You should really tell someone. PLEASE stop cutting. It gets to be a very addicting habit... wanna know how addicted I was? I pulled a needle out of my bookbag in the middle of class, and cut my initials onto my arm. Luckily you can only see it if you're looking super close. Though the scars on my wrist are still there. That would be an interesting story to tell the grandchildren when they're staring at the scars on your arms and legs. It's a terrible habit, and it's very dangerous. If you can't stop it on your own, then you need to tell someone and get some help!!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get help!!!!!!!!

this really isn't advice but i was just wondering what would happen if you had sex while you were pregnant?
Absolutely nothing. If by what would happen, do you mean would it effect the baby, then NOPE. It might be uncomfortable for the pregnant party, and I'm not sure how safe it would be once your a few months in. But for the first little while, like the first 2 months it's fine. It's not like the penis will hit the baby or anything. Now once you're like 5-6 months pregnant it'll be very uncomfortable, and once your like 7-9 months it could possibly effect the fetus, but the first 1-2 months is fine, I'm not sure if it's okay for the 3-4 months. Sorry I'm not of too much help, but I remember learning in parent/child development that it's okay to have sex while pregnant for definitley the first 2 months, though after a while it becomes uncomfortable.

Ok well yesterday i was playin tackle football with my friends well now i am covered in bruises and i am in alot of pain any suggestions to help me get rid of th pain dont say take advil or anything like that because i tried that like a hour ago and it didnt help so any suggestions to help other than that. Any advice will probably be appreciated
I know a lot of people who when after sports, or after just jogging/running who use icey hot. I'm not sure how well it works, but I know that some of the coaches at my school, or at least my old school reccomend it.

my cousin who is like one of my best friends is a little theift...she steals from my sister and me all the time she got caught stealing from walmart...well this girl(we'll call her bob) bob thought my cousin was her friend...but that night my cousin was at her cousins b'day and she took bobs cell phone and took it apart and hid it in her cousins bathroom...she told me and i thoguht how could she do something like that! so like to weeks later, last night i was on the internet and so was bob...and if ur cell was stolen and taken apart wouldnt you like to no where it is... well i told bob where it was and bob told my cousins cousin who told my cousins brother whose dad was looking at my cuzs bros ims and saw what it said and so now my cousin is pissed at me...should i say sorry for doing the right thing!!!plzz help me
You shouldn't have to apologize. Your cousin had no right to do what she did. And you were just trying to help someone out. I mean if I had a cell phone that mysteriously went missing I'd like to be informed about it's whereabouts. That sounds weird the way I put it, but your cousin should be the one apologizing not you. You should NEVER apologize for doing the right thing. You should also (though this doesn't really relate to your question) Never apologize for saying how you feel ('cause that'd be like apologizing for being real) You should seriously never ever apologize for doing the right thing. I mean you just wanted to help someone out.

I like them both. I think the first one has a bunch of writing on it, but for the second one, you'll probably have a lot of people ask you what advicenators is. The first one you'll get a lot of people staring at you to read what it says. I'd probably buy the one with all the writing. I'm sorry I'm not much help, I agree, it's a hard choice. I do however thing it's wonderful that you want to buy the merchandise and support the site. I wish I could buy my parents don't allow me to buy anything online. here is something i dont understand and i sont know if anyone here understands it. Why are we here just why i dont understand it we were put here by god but why it makes no sense. i mean think we live just so we can die it makes no sense so i dont understan why we would be put here by god it makes no sense because one day we could be alive and the next we could be dead just why.
You're put here to make a difference. Are you religios? Do you go to church, if so, ask a preacher, a pastor, a pope, or whoever is 'in charge' of the church/synagogue/ect. that you go to. If not, then I guess you still believe in God. We were put her to make a difference for someone/something/ and or ourselves. Everyone has a purpose, you just have to pursue life to find it. It's a confusing thing, religion, but it's what you believe. This is just my opinion, yours can and just may be completely different. I use to question how God made us, and before God created everything where was he? People always told me he was always there, I was just wondering, if there was nothing, then he was always where? You just have to believe. I know I'm not the most religious person, I know I sin probably everyday of my life, and probably more than once. I'm catholic, for lent I gave up using bad language, I'm trying really hard to stop, but it's difficult, and I admit I've slipped up when I got really frustrated or something, but I try and that's what counts. What you need to do is either just believe in faith, or just look at it as the glass is half empty. But to answer your question, we only get one life, live it best you can. We were put here to live, to have a purpose, try and find yours. I think I found mine, I used to believe I didn't have one. I wanted to committ suicide. I eventually told someone that I wanted to committ suicide, I came as far as planning how and where it was going to happen. I made a when, but I decided that I'd live until then, make a new when, and if I still felt bad I'd do it, I'd take my life. But you have to realize you need to get out there and find your purpose, live your life. This probably doesn't answer your question at all, because my opinion doesn't matter, yours does. I'm here to give you some thought and some insight. I hope you find what you're looking for!
