SuGaRuSh3810 answered Thursday March 17 2005, 6:56 pm: Its pretty normal. I mean, if you dont get your period by the time you're 17 then you should see a doctor. but right now its okey because you know, some girls mature faster than others. I hope I helped.
hailebop answered Wednesday March 2 2005, 9:55 am: Everyone develops differently. It's perfectly normal for a 14 year old not to have started their periods. Although it may feel like you're the only girl you know who hasn't started yet, there will be others that haven't either, so don't worry. It will come soon enough, and when it does you'll probably be glad you had a few hassle-free years longer than some of your friends - so seriously, don't worry about it. gessyka answered Wednesday March 2 2005, 12:55 am: Don't worry..it's not a bad thing at all. Some girls don't even have it until they're like 17 or something. It seems hard to believe but it's possible. I once heard of this woman who didn't have it until she was 30! How crazy is that? Incredibly rare and unheard of..but crazy. And she's perfectly healthy.
Don't be worried about it though. You should be having it soon but you're body is just developing a little slower then some other girls, but that's not a bad thing and you don't have to be worried.

JennyP23 answered Tuesday March 1 2005, 7:24 am: That is a really normal thing. I know a lot of people who got it before that age, a lot at that age, and a lot after. Bodies mature at different rates, and you are right in the middle of puberty age ranges. You have nothing to be worried about. You are completely normal. S_C answered Monday February 28 2005, 7:26 pm: Nobody knows this... yet lots of my friends look at my column, so it will all be out in the open... I'm same age, and I haven't gotten mine yet either. My doctor just told me I was lucky. If you are thin or athletic, then it's completely normal for you to not even get it until you're 16 or older. My doctor told me I didn't start because I got all messed up after I was anorexic, but there are lots of people I know who didn't even start until 17 years old. All I can say is we're lucky, we don't have cramps, we don't have to worry about not wearing white pants/skirts because of leaks, and all that 'good' stuff. Well hope I made you feel better. Be lucky you don't have it. [ S_C's advice column | Ask S_C A Question ]
azngemini answered Monday February 28 2005, 7:25 pm: well, that's not NOT normal. my mom got hers when she was 16, and she said that at that time where she was, most of the girls got it at 16 also. I got mine when I was 12, and I know some people my age that have also gotten it at 12 also. and I know some people that still havent gotten it yet, and they're like 13 or 14. soo it's normal. everyone is different, so there's nothing to worry about. But i think that if you still havent gotten it by age 16 or 17, you need to consult a doctor because that's like too old. but you're 14, so it's fine [ azngemini's advice column | Ask azngemini A Question ]
xoPandaBabyxo answered Monday February 28 2005, 7:20 pm: Thats okey, I guess. But if you dont get your period by the age of 17 or 18, then I suggest that you go see a doctor.

Karen answered Monday February 28 2005, 6:18 pm: Don't worry, it's definitely normal to not have gotten your period at the age of 14 and it's not a bad thing at all. Every girl develops at different times and some get their first period earlier or later than others. If you have noticed that you are getting discharge, that is a sign that your period is coming. It will come one day, don't worry.

Shortie answered Monday February 28 2005, 6:07 pm: dear period,
of course its normal! don't worry! i know people who have gotten their periods at age 16! you'll probably get it soon, ask your mom, or a female adult you know that you "trust." sometimes they can easily tell wehn you're probably going to get your period by your weight. (thats what my mom said!) but you have no reason to worry
FrEe2bMe answered Monday February 28 2005, 6:04 pm: In short, no there is nothing wrong with this fact and yes it is normal. Girls have their periods at all different ages. If you don't get your period by the age of 17 then you have something to worry about. Until then, just be glad you don't have to deal with all that mess! You're time will come soon enough. Some indicators that your period maybe coming: you may start getting som discharge, or clear substance in your panties and you may start to have some cramps. But no, it's not a bad thing! :) [ FrEe2bMe's advice column | Ask FrEe2bMe A Question ]
