icey0990 answered Sunday February 27 2005, 9:33 am: Yes, cutting is wrong and its a big deal. Just because you dont want attention from it doesnt mean its good...wanting attention isnt bad..its he cutting that is. Cutting is NOT the way to deal with yourslf. Theres so many other options that dont involve hurting yourself..nd these options actually help you. You could talk to a counselor, punch a pillow when you want to cut..write poetry..read..listen to music. I would say anyone who cuts should get help right awa if they cant stop on their own right away.

ImHere4u answered Sunday February 27 2005, 9:32 am: Cutting is bad and it's best to get help. Some people do it for attention yet otheres say it so it'll take the emotional pain away. None of those reasons are good exscuses for you to cut. If this is you, or a friend who's cutting you best talk to a parent, cousler at school or someone trustworthy because you don't want anyone dieing from something that you knew could be helped.
XxLiiLSiiNgErXX answered Sunday February 27 2005, 9:27 am: No matter what cutting is bad... I learned that the hard way... No matter if your doing it just to deal with yourself and other problems and not trying to get attention, osmeone will find outsooner or later and they will always think that its for attention or somehting like that. They will not believe you when oyu say that you're not and also they miht try and send you to a phsyc hospital or something or put you on anti depressents... and then tell you to deal with your problems in a less destructive way... So I suggest that you stop unless you want that junk to happen to you... Just a little hint of advice from someone that knows
Karen answered Sunday February 27 2005, 9:24 am: Yes, cutting is wrong and it is a big deal because there are other ways to fix your problems and such without cutting. You can talk to your friend or a conselor and they will help you. In my opinion, it is a big deal, even if you cut like once in a while but you really shouldn't. You need to get help if you do cut because one cut could take your life. That's what I tell people that I know who do cut and they take that as consideration and they try to stop by that phrase.

Princeton_Girl answered Sunday February 27 2005, 8:42 am: if you cut you do not need exactly "help". you just need to decide whats more important, your health or your happiness. either way there are better ways to make yourself feel good. S_C answered Sunday February 27 2005, 8:04 am: Heck yes it's bad. I used to have a terrible habit of doing it. I didn't do it for attention either, I had some stuff going on, and it really did help. It sounds crazy that hurting yourself relieves pain, but it did work. It's very dangerous though. You could pop a vain, and that's it, you're done. You should seek help. I got help, sort of. I told someone, and I also told that someone when I was contemplating the thought of suicide. You should really tell someone. PLEASE stop cutting. It gets to be a very addicting habit... wanna know how addicted I was? I pulled a needle out of my bookbag in the middle of class, and cut my initials onto my arm. Luckily you can only see it if you're looking super close. Though the scars on my wrist are still there. That would be an interesting story to tell the grandchildren when they're staring at the scars on your arms and legs. It's a terrible habit, and it's very dangerous. If you can't stop it on your own, then you need to tell someone and get some help!!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get help!!!!!!!! [ S_C's advice column | Ask S_C A Question ]
Shortie answered Sunday February 27 2005, 7:24 am: dear cutting,
yes it's bad! yes it's wrong! and yes you do need help if you do cut! cutting is a way to releve stress and to kill yourself. but why relive stress that way? why not play a sport? go running? if its too cold out try indoor soccer, or basketball, or whatever you can think of. there's plenty of solutions compared to cutting yourself.
volley ball
baseball
softball
soccer
basketball
etc.
if you don't want to do a sport try getting "involved" try an after school program or take up a hobbie! anything is better than cutting. if you do cut, tell somebody right away because somebody is gonna find out anyway if they see all the slits on your writs. once they find out, you'll know what to do and so will they. you'll try and break the habit (if it is one) and all i can say is good luck
