ill rate 5's

That is so incredibly dumb to do, do you really think that you can fully function on 300 calories a day? Don't even give it though just use some common sense. Nothing good will come out of it. Period.

is there a good way to slim your thighs?
like i know that running is good, but i've been doing that && i havent been seeing much of a result.

is there any good ways to do it && how long should it take?

Thats because running doesn't slim your thighs. It conditions your heart. Makes sense right?

You can try the old school most sensible and best approach of eating right and exercising more although as far as I can see from your question you won't like what I have to say when I tell you that it takes time. What do you care how long it takes? What about feeling good and really making yourself a whole lot healthier through diet and exercise? Let's get beyond the appearance and putting a timeframe on it and get into concentrating on the real benefits- better mood, better health, more discipline...the looks come as a secondary award a very long way down the road.

i want to start eating healthier but i am a VERY picky eater. does anyone have some recipes that are healthy that i might like.

Get yourself a piece of whole wheat pita. You can put a little olive oil on it, then get yourself some reduced fat or fat free shredded cheese and slice up some fresh tomatoes and bake it in the oven until you get the crispiness you desire for pizza.

Get whole wheat pasta and slice up some steamed veggies and make yourself a pasta salad. Again you can add some olive oil to it.

For a fat free, high protein snack get a packet of sugar free/fat free Jell-o instant pudding and a cup of fat free cottage cheese and 1/2 cup of skim milk and mix all contents in a blender until it is like pudding....you wouldn't know the difference and if you do then get over it because it isn't supposed to taste like candy, it's supposed to taste healthy and just good enough to enjoy :-)

Let's say I take the rest of the year off (until summer) and do nothing but work out, like ATLEAST 3 houres/ day. Sometimes more. How much will I lose in that amount of time?

Another scenario, let's say I run 2 houres a day, for the rest of this month ( + eat healthy/ drink lots of water) would that be better? And would that help me loose the extra fat I have?

Don't even waste your time thinking of this scenario. I mean take off until the summer just because you want to lose weight? the President works out everyday and he's the busiest man in the whole world...you can squeeze it in without worrying about taking off.

Now you probably aren't going to listen to me anyway and will probably think I don't know what Iam talking about and that's ok but:

You better be using $20,000 a year worth of steroids to be working out for 3 hours a day everyday. Unless you are using steroids- there is no reason for you to be taxing your body that much for any reason. All you have to do is eat better and exercise for 45 mins to an hour at least 3 times a week...more is not better. It isn't coming fast, and if it does...it isn't staying very long. I think people's main problem when it comes to their approach to fitness is that they think about it too much and they worry about every single calorie and every daunting minute of every workout and worry about their results and just quit after a month or 2 because they don't see the results they want. Especially with fitness- the more you think you know...the more you realize you really don't and everyone, myself included is always learning because simply...we don't know that much because our bodies are complex specimens. However there are always constants and plain facts and here's one Iam going to give you right now that you are going to remember whether you totally hate me for saying it or whether you take it as good advice:

The more you think, the more you stress, the more you do in excess...the more impossible it's going to be to make the changes you want.

It takes time, patience and a whole lot of hard work and discipline. Nobody teaches you discipline..you earn it.

i'm female 14 years old...well you will think this is normal and everything but i still feel weird:

yesterday it was about 11:30 at night and i was still awake listening to some radio then i became thirsty and i wanted to go downs stairs to get something to drink and then on my way downstairs i heard me parents having sex.... it was soo weird my mom was like making this really weird sounds and i heard how my dad kissed my mom and i dont know i was just standing there listening i couldnt move... but yeah then when i couldnt hear anything i went back to my room... and then my little sister (she's only 11 years old) also heard it cause her room is right next to my parents bedroom and she came into my room and she was really nervous and scared! and so am i and i dont know i just have a weird feeling about all this...what should i do?? its just freaking me out!!! and my sister also totally dosnt get it and she said she cant trust our parents or something :-/

any advice???

i'll rate

Your parents are human too you know and have urges just like everyone else. It's not like they meant for you to hear them and it probably happens a lot without you even knowing about it, you should take it as a good thing since it shows they're still very much in love and attracted to each other. Besides...how do you think you and I and everyone all started out?

Hi, I heard that you could maybe help me out with this problem since you're a fitness instructor and all! =] Anyway, one of my guy friends (we're both 14 yrs. old) is kind of obsessed about his body and weight. He is somewhat short, 5'3", and weighs 150lbs.. I don't think that he looks fat; yet he is convinced that he is. He wants to lose weight to impress a girl in one of our classes. I've tried to tell him that he doesn't need to worry about his weight, and he looks fine, but he is stubborn and won't stop talking about it. He says he doesn't eat anything for breakfast anymore and he has cut back on a lot of food. I'm really worried that he might start starving himself or end up becoming annorexic. I suggested that he ask his doctor what kind of fitness plan(s) he should try, and he says, "no, they'll just tell me to excersize,".

Should I back off? Should I help him? How do I help him? What should I do?

He's lucky to have someone who cares to begin with really. No 14 year old should be that obsessed over their appearance and I'll be fair here and say that nobody at any age should really be that obsessed. It's especially bad when it's a 14 year old. Whether you're a girl or boy, a whole lot of changes are going on when you're that age and its critical that nutrition is taken seriously. Not eating isn't the answer...eating the right way is the answer. Iam sure he looks just fine and this is just stress about not having a 6 pack or a 17" pair of arms. I've said this before and its very unfortunate but everything in today's society is all about getting things fast, here and now and of course all you see on TV is the rock bodies and all of these shows chronicling a celebrity's workout like they know the first thing about it from what they get from some asshole trainer. I mean really...I could care less what J-Lo does for a workout and frankly if she was on fire I wouldn't piss on her to put her out. Sorry my rant is over and I'll get back to what I was saying now lol.

Just approach him and tell him that you're concerned for him and that there is always help available from people who are well qualified. Tell him to give it time and enjoy it...not find it a chore just because he wants to impress some girl. If you're looking for facts to give him or whatever, feel free to ask me again.

Hi, I am the maid of honor for my best friends wedding on May 13th. I got a dress that was too small, but I've been woorking out and I've changed my eating habits. I can now fit the dress, but I am a little uncomfortable with the top. The dress is a halter and the area around my chest, breast, and upper back are kind of squished in. Are there any particular exercises I can do to make it fit better up there? I have less than 3 weeks to go. I've upped my cardio to about 1.25-1.5 hours a day plus weight training. I just want to slim down up there. Please Help!!!!!

It would be great if we could pick where we could lose inches but unfortunately our bodies don't work that way. A total body effort is needed and you're going to need longer than May 13th to see dramatic and retainable results. Now Iam not saying it is impossible to lose a good amount of inches within this timeframe, but you aren't going to keep it off until you train for a considerable amount of time.

Iam sure that you look fine to begin with, and that from what you say about your cardio schedule..you are obviously in shape and this is all a question of diet over exercise. Keep your diet as clean as possible and do the essentials- dont eat junk food, rest plenty, eat often, etc. I trust that you have knowledge of these concepts. That is my best advice for you- just keep your diet sensible and don't take it to an extreme. Relax, enjoy the ride and it will come to you.

16/f.the other day i went on the elliptical for 30 minutes, (which i havent done in a while) its 3 days later and my arms are killing me! what are some ways i can stretch them out and help them feel better?

Actually you can't do anything. It's called DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness) and the only thing which heals it is time.

can anyone tell me, how many calories a body burns with 100 sit-ups?

Not a lot- It's not exactly the most strenuous exercise to be doing.

I'm on a low calorie diet right now, and I've already lost about 5 pounds since I started. I'm just wondering if I eat junk food every so often, but still stay at an amount of calories that I've limited myself to so I can lose weight, will it have any affect?

Will the junk food, although within my daily limit of calories, affect my body negatively by gaining back weight or anything like that?

Any health teacher who says that is an idiot. Sorry but I had to say that.

Look let's take a logical look at the situation-

-You are on an already restricted calorie diet so you body is not performing at its peak.

-You probably don't eat freuqently enough (6 meals) throughout the day for this to work

-You want to ingest empty calories that have absolutely no value to them at all whether it's a low calorie diet or not.

Cheating doesn't mean eating a whole bag of cheese doodles or a half a pizza...maybe a few cheese doodles and a slice or 2 at the most of pizza every about 4 weeks. If you cheat every single week...guess what's happening? Thats right you are going to get fat and your diet will crash. I could get all technical and all that stuff but here it is simply:

Yes your body will be affected negatively.

Yes to your feedback by the way.

How long can someone go without eating food but drinking water? if you happened to stop eating food would you die?

You can go pretty long without eating...some people have gone a month or more without eating and survived. Can't go more than a few days without hydration though.

Get a lotion with a tanning accelerator and bronzer. You can feel the tingle on the skin whne you go into the sun when you get a good lotion.

i know there are like excerisizes to make a guys penis bigger, but are there any to make your breasts bigger?

LOL You're joking right?

Exercises to make a penis bigger? I wasn't aware that it was a muscle all this time...silly me- took me 18 years to figure that out.

No there are no exercises to make the penis or breasts bigger because they aren't muscles.

I read about a type of crunch called the Jackknife. * You put your hands be hand your heads and your legs straight out then bring you body up and your legs/knees to your face * and I read that this is a brutal but very effective excersise and it really helped several girls get that washboard stomach. Has anyone else ever done these and what type of results did you get?

Jacknife crunches aren't as good as you may think. Stick with the basic crunch- it's tried and true.

If you really want a challenging variation...try doing regular crunches on one of those big stability balls all the way to failure. Ow.

I'm 13, 5 foot 9 and 166 pounds [All my weight is on my stomach].

I was wondering how much weight I could lose in a week if, every night I do 300 crunches, then on Tue. and Thurs. morning I swim and do about a 20 min dryland[Ab work, push-ups,jumping jacks, etc.]

Then on Monday Wensday and Friday I go in the morning and do weights for an hour.

But I also will swim for 2 hours every day in the afternoon plus more drylands and running[When we run, we run about a mile and a half] and such. I swim on a team so the swimming is hard swimming, not just laps.

But my question again is if I did that for a week, how much weight do you think I could lose at most. My goal is 7-10 pounds.

Thank you in advance :].

You'll lose weight....but you aren't going to keep it off. That takes a LONG time. It takes a lot longer than a week to tap into and eliminate a lipid cell....so you'll lose a lot of water weight but you'll gain it back. Why a week? Why not make it a point to be like this for the rest of your life?

I ussually do a lot of exercise but whenever i stop my face seems to get fatter and not my body, weird. Well to let you know how fat i'm 78 kg at the moment and my face is like a face of a 90 kg person and my body is like a 70kg person. Its seem like all the fat tends to move toawrd my face.

So is there anyway that i can do to keep my face in proportion with my body? i prefer my face looking skinnier. THX in advance

Not much you can do- it's just where you carry your weight and that varies from person to person.
