Sorry, if that sounded rude or something but I've had friends who have tried this. I almost lost two friends in a roew because my best friend stopped eating because her boy friend was in a comma and they didn't know if he would wake up.
ALN424 answered Thursday April 20 2006, 10:30 pm: you can go about 3 weeks without food, but only about 3 days without water. please don't try to fast to see how long you can go. hope this helps
OnlyTheRightAnswers answered Thursday April 20 2006, 10:12 pm: Well, when people fast they can usually go several weeks to over a month without food, but it all depends on how much stored energy they still have. Water is a different story though. After a few days, people can get delirious without any liquids. so basically the deal is, don't deprive your body of what it needs. I can't help but think....why do you want to go without food for so long? This is severely unhealthy for you. If you're doing this to try and lose weight, it WILL backfire on you.
When you don't give your body fuel (food) it goes into starvation mode, which means every single morsel of food will be directly stored as fat, because the body is starving. So in the long run, you will likely gain weight.
It makes far more sense to eat sensibly. Starving yourself can also lead to death as your internal organs will eventually shut down. You need to eat!! Take care.
MikeCFT answered Thursday April 20 2006, 9:20 pm: You can go pretty long without eating...some people have gone a month or more without eating and survived. Can't go more than a few days without hydration though. [ MikeCFT's advice column | Ask MikeCFT A Question ]
Tickle-Me-Pink answered Thursday April 20 2006, 8:55 pm: a person can not live without food, nor water. it takes a longer time to die without food then water. the time depends on body weight so somewhere in a week or two with no food, probably a few days without any water. x0brittany0x answered Thursday April 20 2006, 8:49 pm: It depends on the person, the weight of there body, how much fat they have, etc.
I got this from google.
-A person can live a surprisingly long time without food. A heavier person may be able to survive for several weeks. The reason is that the body breaks down its own stores of fat and protein to survive. Of course, people who survive long stretches without food are very weak, because they've lost a lot of fat and muscle. Instead of digesting food, your body basically digests itself.
thats pretty gross. [ x0brittany0x's advice column | Ask x0brittany0x A Question ]
Nallie answered Thursday April 20 2006, 8:45 pm: It depends on the person. If a person has more fat, they will probably live longer than someone who is thin. More likely though we'd develop diseases and disorders from the lack of nutrition before we died. Muscles become contracted, the heart would beat irregulary, breathing will be labored and we wouldn't be able to think clearly. We'd probably be in severe pain too. Starvation would be a miserable long drawn out death. [ Nallie's advice column | Ask Nallie A Question ]
