I know this questions get annoying, however I really want to loose 10 pounds before the summer ends. I don't like my body and I want every inch of fat of it gone. I just hate it. Please help me. I need a specific plan, not just a eat plenty of fruits and vegetables and do crunches kind of thing. I kind of want a day my day scheduale of exercises and fitness I can do. Also, how to eat heathly and stop emotional eating tips would be greatly appreciated. Please help. First 5 answers that follow my guidelines are automatic 5s with feedback.
Listen, Im goin to help you out here but this isn't going to be 10 lbs of actualy bodyfat that you lose within the timeframe you have set. You need bodyfat, we all do- it lines our major organs, is a mass energy source for us and acts as our insulator so we stay warm. Your body can't handle very long spurts where its bodyfat is low and when I say low I mean in the 4% range which is about the bodyfat % of a professional bodybuilder but what Iam trying to say is that you need to leave a percentage out year round so your body has something to work with instead of just being depleted. Now you say you want a specific plan- no one can do that really. I don't know ur height, weight, age, sex, eating and lifestyle habits and personal attitude so I can't be specific but I can do my best to make this very general and give you a good template.
1. You have to eat at least 4 times a day and most importantly breakfast. Not a bran muffin or a bowl of Special K either- a good, nutritious breakfast eggs, whole wheat toast, oatmeal (not flavored) just to name a few. This is vital and breakfast is the time where you should take your multi vitamin which everyone should take but dieters especially. Keep yourself to lean cuts of protein such as skinless chicken breast, tuna, low fat cottage cheese, sardines, smoked oysters and as the day goes on focus on faster absorbing carbs. For example in the morning you should have oatmeal which is low in the Glycemic Index so it digests slowly, later in the day wher eyou begin to rest and tend to store bodyfat you want a faster digesting carb such as whole wheat pasta or a potato. Im sorry but Iam not going to tell you to eat Lean Cuisine, Special K, Trail mix and 100 calorie Oreo packs- it just doesn't work that way.
2. Gotta exercise at least 3 or 4 times a week for a period of 45 mins to an hour with an activity of preferably weight training but cardio such as walking, jogging, Stairmaster, whatever your favorite cardio exercise is. Stay away from swimming- contrary to popular belief it actually makes people tend to carry more bodyfat. (Yes it does...trust me lol)
3. Your attitude is the most important element to all of this. Do you find the dieting and exercising to be a chore? Or do you welcome it as part of your newfound lifestyle? Are you satisfied with where you are and have confidence that you can get to any realistic goal that you have set? Make this a part of you and don't just see it as a passing fad and a way to look good because health and a great appearance aren't always interchangable. Focus yourself on getting healthy and all of the benefits and discipline this lifestyle teaches you and understand that the good appearance comes later...wayyyy later. The worst thing you can do is stress over your appearance- its unnecessary and actually causes you to hold fluids and become bloated. Fuck what everyone else says about you or your efforts, you're going to have so much positive energy going through you that it won't matter anyway.
4. You address emotional eating which is a major problem for a lot of dieters. Myself included. This comes from your attitude and the amount you are eating and just exactly what is in those meals. Our Seratonin levels drop at night and we become relaxed and ready to sleep, our emotions ease and our body sends the Endocrine system into a heightened state in preparation for the secretion of the hormones and processes that occur when we sleep. This causes our blood sugar levels to drop a bit and our crave for food go up. Simple solution- eat more frequent throughout the day with less carbs and more protein. This helps keep that blood sugar a little more stable and takes the cravings away.
Before I end this- I can tell you all the fancy terms and make all the great recommendations in the world to you but in the end it is YOU who determines how you use the information and incorporate it into your lifestyle. Is 10 lbs of pure bodyfat going to come off you in time for the beach this year? No it won't- plenty of water weight and a little bodyfat will and you'll look better but it won't be all bodyfat. Will it happen? Yes it certainly will- it takes time and dedication and that's all on you to do.
Which burns more calories, biking or jogging?
No matter what kind of distance you do for any cardio exercise its generally 100 calories per mile. Focus on decreasing the time it takes u to complete the exercise over the distance.
Hi I'm 15/f
and I weigh 148 lbs, and i am around 5'7''
and I want to go down to 130 lbs, and I know its not easy because I used to be over 170 lbs but I exercised through out all year, losing some, gaining back some, then losing some more.
But since its summer again, (because i started exercising last summer), I want to try to see if I can lose 10 pounds, or maybe 8 pounds before school starts again.
This is my plan...
eat all three meals, but dont have anything that isnt meal. as in No junk food whatsoever, no soda, no nothing. Maybe except for fruits and veggies, on occasion.
and get up early in the morning, around 6:30 to do these 2 abs exercises i got from Seventeen magazine(they are not long. it maybe took me 15-20 min doing them)
then during day, I probably will go skateboarding, but not a lot because its really energy draining thing and I have really low stamina. Maybe skateboard for 30 min to 1 hour a day.
Then about 1 hour after dinner, do 25 min of pilate crunch video thing
Then take shower then rest, and around 8:00 p.m, do 200 sit ups.
(But none of them applies on saturday, or sunday because I have to work and I get back late so that plan of mine only works through monday-friday)
So anyone have ANY idea if I can lose 8 pounds in about 2.5 months or so?
any suggestions that will help me lose more weight??
*** Most importantly, any suggestion that will keep me from snacking? because I can do it for couple days, then I always crack...
Well thanks so much in advance!
Well you have the right idea, but I would recommend a little bit different of an execution- With that much exercising you will need more than 3 meals (Actually we all do). I would recommend 5 small meals spaced every 3-4 hours broken down to approximately 40/40/20 Protein/Carb/Fat ratio- thats just a guideline for your meals you can tweak it. Get yourself a good multi vitamin as well and take it with breakfast (Look for high potency, time released)
Secondly you are too inconsistent during the day with the exercising. Your body responds much better to one all out full effort workout than 4 little ones and you won't be involving enough Type 1 and Type 2 muscle fibers in order to introduce change in muscle if you space it too much. You're doing way too much volume on your stomach region and you're going to overtrain yourself if you continue to do it- this of course means that you will see no results. I would say the Pilates workout is enough and you can ditch the 17 magazine workouts and the sit ups and focus on your skateboarding and Pilates- more isnt always better. You're going to have to at least keep your diet in check on Saturday and Sunday because one slip-up will ruin this whole effort and you'll have to start over. I should also mention that I like the goal you have set being 8 lbs in 2.5 months instead of some ridiculous 10 lbs in a week- very good on your goal setting.
Now most importantly- your snacking.
The reason you feel the need to snack is simply because you aren't eating enough throughout the day or you are having not enough fat and protein and too much carbohydrate. Everyone's body reacts the same way before we sleep- our Seratonin levels drop and your body usually needs more blood sugar to fix this (This is why you crave bread or pasta or cookies or some kind of carb). However if you eat enough- you give your body enough nutrients to handle itself and not go into a major insulin spike crave mode.
Simple solution- Eat more meals with more protein.
Hi, I am recently 15 years old and have been suddenly feeling selfconcious about my body. I am about 5'6'' 5'7'' ish and i weigh 130 pounds or so. Is this considered over weight? I exercise constantly (cheer practice, running, abs, etc) but im still terrified to get cellulite ( back of my thigh area) Is there any way to prevent cellulite? and is it true once you have it you cant get rid of it? also what are some exercises that slim up you abs(under belly button) and the back off your thighs. (right under your butt) any answers are appreciated =)
p.s. i am in no way anorexic/belimic just for the record.
Weight is such a bad guide to go by- honestly, Weight is deceiving- a mirror is a much better guide. When I was starting out in bodybuilding I used to be obsessed with my weight too and then a guy with more wisdom than me said "What the fuck are you obsessing about- are you going to be carrying around a scale to show people how much you weigh all the time or are you going to shine by example in your appearance?" Now Iam willing to bet that you're a solid 130 from all of the exercise that you're doing and that you just have a tiny amount of bodyfat accumulating in genetically predetermined areas. It's just a fact of nature that females store their bodyfat in their triceps (the "flabby underarms"), hips and glutes and that males store their bodyfat in the lower stomach and love handles. This is why girls usually can be a higher percentage of bodyfat than a guy and still have reasonably defined abdominals whereas a guy with that much bodyfat % wouldn't have visible abs. The best way to prevent cellulite and banish fat forever is to find exactly what foods you are eating that make you that way and then just never eat them. You're going to hear people talking about cheat days and all of these radical ideas of diet that really aren't beneficial at all- learn the basics because in fitness it takes a little bit of knowledge and a whole lot of discipline. Don't stress and count every single calorie and run on a treadmill for an hour and do 1000 crunches a day, just introduce things slowly and get into a groove. Don't worry so much about the exercising as it sounds that you get plenty but try and make adjustments to your diet because we really are what we eat.
honestly, are there any serious side effects
with smoking marajuana?
like there is with heroine and acid etcetc.
thank you
Think about it this way- cigarettes are legal and nothing like herb, and yet cigarettes have been proven to kill people.
You are taking a disgusting cancer causing agent and inhaling it into your system. Why wouldn't there be any serious side effects?
i do 100-200 pushups a day and theyre not getting rid of the flab under my arm any ideas how i rly need help i dont wanna wear sweatshirts forever. ill rate 5's
Iam sorry to say and I don't mean this to be degrading or anything but basically what everyone said is wrong. Push-ups primarily target your chest and secondarily target your triceps and front deltoids, not the abs- Gatorade is among the worst drinks in the world and you really don't need to do weighted triceps extensions in your situation. Here's what you do and it's simple:
-Bring your hands closer together when you do your push-ups and if you can do them with the hands together then you are putting the maximum stress on the triceps muscles that you desire. The farther apart your hands are- the less arm becomes involved and the more the primary chest muscles become involved so all you need to do is bring your hands closer together to take a little more chest out of the movement and bring in more arm.
does anyone have any good workout songs? that are like upbeat and fun.. thanks for the help. if you name 5 or more then an automatic 5.

-Stormtroopers of Death- Fuck the Middle East
-Testament- Disciples of the Watch
-50 Cent- Many Men
-Metallica- Disposable Heroes
-Slayer- Angel of Death
-Rob Zombie- Superbeast
-Radiotrance- Plasma
-DMX- Whats my name
I'll warn you that these are rather heavy.
when you do crunchs or situps with your legs straight up does it do more to your stomach then it does when your legs are bent? thansk.
It does the same thing...just gets you to the result a little faster by tiring out quicker and using a few more stabilizer muscles. Your choice.
hey, this is a dumb question but im gonna ask it. why do people tend to eat when they are bored? caitt♥
This is exactly America's problem- there are too many problem and boredom eaters who don't get any exercise. People eat when they're bored because its fun, you can really feel a sense of satisfaction physically, it sends hormone levels skyrocketing and really it all boils down to that its a circuit for people to release their aggression. Some do it through art, some music, some weightlifting or whatever they do and some just eat- its whatever your niche is. Boredom makes people do weird things- the best thing to do is obviously keep yourself busy.
What are some exercises that work that area right below your butt? because when i wear a bathing suit my legs always look so fat under my butt =[
i rate 5's
Redline is made by VPX Nutrition and it sucks- it's the same company that makes Endorush.
I personally always like to have my clients mix weight training with calisthenics. Generally with a glute specific program my two recommendations are-
-Weighted lunges
-Leg scissors
Try and do this in a circuit or you can take a 30 second rest in between if need be. these aren't the only exercises and factors which determine the shape of the glutes- but they're the best and don't forget that diet is key.
I want to go on a crash diet, yea its bad for me but w/e iDc. SO my meals everyday would consist of:
Breakfast: Some sort of fruit
Lunch: A small snack maybe a sandwhich or something of that sort
Dinner: Maybe a bowl of rice and some meat. or just anykind of plain meat.
That way i get some of the pyramid into my daily meals.. So tell me if that is good enough or not
and no i will not be throwing up any of this food. im not belimic or anorexic.
You don't care anyway so why ask if it's good enough?
Go ahead rate me a 1 but you know that what everyone tells you about how bad it is, really is the truth.
I'm having my wedding dress made in a few weeks, and I need to quickly lose some weight! It was suggested to me to do a high protien diet. What are some good high protein foods i can eat to help me drop the pounds?
Don't do "High" anything. Just eat sensibly there aren't any shortcuts. But to answer your question-
-Eggs and egg whites (best)
-Skinless chicken
-Tuna (2nd best)
-Jerky
-Nuts sparingly for their fat content
These are your best sources. Don't eat anything frozen like those Lean Cuisine things- just eat sensibly and don't rush it. I promise you that High or low anything diets aren't going to work for you in the bigger picture.
My alarm wakes me up every morning at 6:00; but I usually hit the snooze button until like 6:40. How can I make myself wakeup and kick the urge to press snooze and go back to bed?
You can go to sleep earlier.
Hello, I was just wondering if anyone out there has tried that 6 second ab thing, where you put it on your lap & you push down until it clicks 3 times? Does it work, because I am not really feeling it. Also, I am actually not HUGE, but, of course everything I eat must stay right in my stomach. Any ideas on how to make it flatter by summer?
Can I ask what is the OBSESSION with the abs on this website? Does it really make sense to have a 6 pack and not care how any other bodypart looks? This is asked every single day and the responses are always the same...
A razor sharp 6 pack isn't happening in 2 weeks, a month and not even a year and let's not forget the work it takes to maintain it once you have it. And no- don't listen to people who say that we all have abs and that a layer of bodyfat just covers them from view- that's just ridiculous. Work for it.
I dont want to loose a lot, just like 5 or 6 LBs. anyone have any good tips on how to loose a few pounds fast?? tell me please!
Do you know how much 5 lbs really is when it's actual bodyfat and not water? Thats a lot of weight. Do you really need to ask- it seems pretty obvious, just eat right and exercise. Theres no shortcuts.
what are some ways that I can get better at eating healthy.
13 female. I'm not fat also.
It's good to see that you're getting interested in your health especiallt at your age where nutrition is vital. It's just like anything else- good habits begin at home, if you were always given sugar as a kid and always have sweets around the house- you grow and adapt to that situation and always feel the need to have junk. It all really starts with baby steps- learning to have breakfast everyday that consists of good foods and not a bran muffin or a Pop tart, eating frequenlt throughout the day- you just have to take each step little by little and make yourself adapt to them so they will be incorporated into your lifestyle. But let me tell you this-
Diet soda is not healthy, reduced fat potato chips are not healthy, etc. Use your common sense and stay away from as many processed foods as you can and just enjoy the ride- don't miss the good life and become a slave to your body thinking you have to count every single calorie and all of that.
so my friend gave me a lil bag of farenheight diet pills (100% safe dnt worry) but i dnt know the dose i need. does ne1 know if i take 1 or 2, or one a day or one every 4 hours or what!?!?! i dnt want to overdose but i dnt want to use so little where it doesnt work. please help.
Obviously you have no clue what you're talking about or you would understand that Fahrenheit with it's flashy appearance and false promises is just another piece of garbage useless money making gimmick designed to sucker people just like you into thinking that it's some kind of magical substance. So take your "lil" bag back to your friend and do this the old school way- eat right and go to the gym. It's that simple :-)
LOL I need to get my facts straight? Keep listening to that retarded coach and see if those "Results" stick with you by next year...but don't come bitching on here when you find out you were wrong.
What is the difference between a sit-up and a crunch? My teacher said it was the same thing...
Very very different exercises actually. The main function of the abs (Rectus Abdominis if we wanna get all technical) is to draw the pelvis and chest closer together in a crunching movement. Hence we have crunches which engage the abs in their most natural range of motion doing their job.
Sit ups on the other hand do not crunch the pelvis and chest closer together, but simply bend the body at the middle in order to bring the chest and eplvis closer together and this works the Iliopsas or Hip Flexor muscles which run from just about above the glutes and go to just about below your lower ab region. This hence means that the abs aren't worked at all in a sit up movement.
If you really wanna see this fact at its best just stand up and hold onto something for support with one hand and with the other hand hold your lower ab region and lift one of your legs (This is like doing a sit-up except reversed)....you'll notice that you feel no contraction in your abs, but a strong pull below your abs which is the Hip Flexor muscles that are targeted during sit ups.
After proving your teacher wrong you can tell him to maybe study a little more before he gives another wrong bit of information to people he has a big influence on...
Hope it helped ;-)
Is there an effect when you do situps on a bed? My friend told me it wont even matter or have an effect at all...
Your friend is right and sit ups are useless enough as it is on a floor. Do crunches instead.
how long can you go without eating before you pass out?
Thinking about doing it aren't you? Don't.
