Question Posted Wednesday May 24 2006, 7:00 pm

Hi, I am recently 15 years old and have been suddenly feeling selfconcious about my body. I am about 5'6'' 5'7'' ish and i weigh 130 pounds or so. Is this considered over weight? I exercise constantly (cheer practice, running, abs, etc) but im still terrified to get cellulite ( back of my thigh area) Is there any way to prevent cellulite? and is it true once you have it you cant get rid of it? also what are some exercises that slim up you abs(under belly button) and the back off your thighs. (right under your butt) any answers are appreciated =)

p.s. i am in no way anorexic/belimic just for the record.

You are deffinatly NOT over weight, infact your weight is perfectly healthy for you height.

You can see from this chart that you are in the OK section, you are miles away from even being slightly over weight

You dont need to lose weight or excersise constantly or be worried about cellulite, you are only 15 and if you keep worrying like this and doing this to your body then you will end up making yourself ill and make yourself look discustingly skinny or over toned.

just relax and be thankful that you have the perfect body! :-)

You are actually at a healthy weight! 130 pounds is healthy. And it's awesome you're exercising a lot. Ways of preventing cellulite is taking lots and lots of vitamins!!!! Get some chocolate which has antioxidants to help cellulite, vitamins C and E (especially C) can siginificantly help with cellulite. Don't try those creams you see on TV - they don't work for the most part. Vitamins for your skin (like I mentioned) can really help from preventing (even treating) cellulite. You can find them in fruits and vegetables. Taking multivitamins can work, as well.

Weight is such a bad guide to go by- honestly, Weight is deceiving- a mirror is a much better guide. When I was starting out in bodybuilding I used to be obsessed with my weight too and then a guy with more wisdom than me said "What the fuck are you obsessing about- are you going to be carrying around a scale to show people how much you weigh all the time or are you going to shine by example in your appearance?" Now Iam willing to bet that you're a solid 130 from all of the exercise that you're doing and that you just have a tiny amount of bodyfat accumulating in genetically predetermined areas. It's just a fact of nature that females store their bodyfat in their triceps (the "flabby underarms"), hips and glutes and that males store their bodyfat in the lower stomach and love handles. This is why girls usually can be a higher percentage of bodyfat than a guy and still have reasonably defined abdominals whereas a guy with that much bodyfat % wouldn't have visible abs. The best way to prevent cellulite and banish fat forever is to find exactly what foods you are eating that make you that way and then just never eat them. You're going to hear people talking about cheat days and all of these radical ideas of diet that really aren't beneficial at all- learn the basics because in fitness it takes a little bit of knowledge and a whole lot of discipline. Don't stress and count every single calorie and run on a treadmill for an hour and do 1000 crunches a day, just introduce things slowly and get into a groove. Don't worry so much about the exercising as it sounds that you get plenty but try and make adjustments to your diet because we really are what we eat.

no i personally think its a LITTLe overweight (like TWo pounds -- nothing to worry about) but the thing is, if you are muscular, then you are VERY THIN> MUSCLES WEIGHS ALOOOOT! so yea i dont really know what cellulite is, but i would say your underweight in a positive way (not too underweight) if you are strong

Well theres no "normal" or "average" weight because everyone is different, you just need to be healthy, and if you are healthy and athletic, you should be fine :)

Ab exercises, crunches, situps, leg lifts, squats, .. yeah :)
go to your school gym or something, work out there :)
