xxBabyGirlxx answered Tuesday September 28 2004, 11:31 pm: i would still make the guy wear a condom... its not often you get pregnant on the pill but there is always that chance.. so i would make him wear one just to be on the safe side..

snowwalker69 answered Thursday September 2 2004, 1:37 pm: Hey there. From my experience, it's a good idea if your really worried. The first month your on it would be a good idea to be extra safe, but really all you need to do is wear a condom on the first week of your birth control package (when the dosage is the lowest and your ovulating.) But also, if the guy has had sex before, wear a condom just in case of STD's and such [ snowwalker69's advice column | Ask snowwalker69 A Question ]
Pixiemagic14 answered Wednesday September 1 2004, 11:24 pm: well yes because a birth control isn't always effective, and birth controls only protect you from pregnaces not STD's, and condom's do both. you should diffintly wear a condom even if your on birth control [ Pixiemagic14's advice column | Ask Pixiemagic14 A Question ]
silent_x_cry answered Tuesday August 31 2004, 9:55 pm: First of all, you're showing that you're really level-headed by asking this. You seem very mature and responsible.
Second of all, if you're going to take that step and have sex, you need to do the following things:
-Both of you get an STD test (even if it's your first time). Some diseases are sexually transmitted, but you can also get them in other ways (in other words, your guy can be a virgin, but still have an STD -- even if it's herpes that he transmitted from his mouth to his genitals).
-You're on birth control. Awesome.
-Yes, you need to wear a condom. Birth control is only so effective, and you can still get STD's even if you're on birth control. [ silent_x_cry's advice column | Ask silent_x_cry A Question ]

0rangeTape answered Tuesday August 31 2004, 6:12 pm: Birth controll doesnt always work so if you dont want to be extra carefull on not getting pregnant use a condom as well, and they also help from preventing STD's [ 0rangeTape's advice column | Ask 0rangeTape A Question ]
xxoBriannax answered Tuesday August 31 2004, 5:21 pm: No, unless you want STD's.
selectopaque answered Tuesday August 31 2004, 1:05 pm: Definately yes. Birth control does nothing to protect against STDs, so you definately need to wear a condom, or have the guy wear a condom. Also, birth control is not always effective for many different reasons.
UnluckyWishes answered Tuesday August 31 2004, 9:52 am: Yea the guy should definatly wear a condom i mean its not likely you',ll get pregnant but there is always that chance. And birth control cant stop you from getting STD's.hope i helped. Karen answered Tuesday August 31 2004, 8:22 am: Well the guy doesn't need to wear a condom but if you wanna be safer, then he should. Birth control doesn't prevent STD's so a guy should wear a condom to be safe. Hope I helped :) [ Karen's advice column | Ask Karen A Question ]
alisonmarie answered Tuesday August 31 2004, 6:32 am: Birth control is not effective right away, nor does it work if the girl is on certain types of medication. If the girl is on the Pill, she'll want to make sure she is taking it at the same time every day.
Those things aside, no method of pregnancy prevention is 100% effective. I would recommend two forms of protection - I think it is smart to have your boyfriend wear a condom.
In addition, only a condom can give you some protection against sexually transmitted diseases. Such diseases can render you infertile, be untreatable, or kill you. If you want to be the safest you can while having sex, a condom is a must. [ alisonmarie's advice column | Ask alisonmarie A Question ]
HollyAnn2282 answered Tuesday August 31 2004, 3:44 am: Ok there is never a safe way to have sex... a condom just makes it a little bit safer... A guy and a girl can have sex without a condom while she is on birth control but there still is a chance that she can get prego. So be careful! Good luck

juicyfruit answered Tuesday August 31 2004, 1:36 am: A guy doesn't really NEED to but I think it's better to be safe than sorry. So if you do have sex and are on the birth control just have the guy wear a condom...in case. :) [ juicyfruit's advice column | Ask juicyfruit A Question ]
runawaygirl answered Tuesday August 31 2004, 12:22 am: The birth control will keep you from getting pregnant, but condoms are the only way to prevent STDs. Unless you know 100% that your partner doesn't have anything you don't want to catch, then I suggest using a condom. Also, birth control isn't a 100% effective, and neither are condoms, but when used together, the chance of getting pregnant is very very small, smaller than either one by itself. bebecaliente6989 answered Tuesday August 31 2004, 12:13 am: to me condoms would be a good idea to use. theres plenty of reasons why though. 1. being that u can make sure that u decrease the chance of getting an STD 2. there is a small chance that birth control dont work. nothings a 100% sure. so it can eliminate that one small chance of getting pregnant...hope i helped!! Sherry answered Tuesday August 31 2004, 12:08 am: If you want to be extra safe like if the pill doesnt work the condom will..or the other way around...then you should use both..but a girl on the muary show(lol) got pregnant using both things so its not 100% but sure.. MFS answered Tuesday August 31 2004, 12:03 am: if you are worried about the possiblity of disease trasnmission, or that birthcontrol isn't 100% effective, then yes. If you're willing to take the risk that the birth control will work (I know 2 women who were on the pill and got pregnant), and you don't have to worry about STD's... then that's your call.
