One of my closest and dearest friends is suicidal. Or was, rather. Her mother mistreats her and she was slitting her wrists out of frustration. None of us knew. Finally we found out and she swore to stop. But just recently her mother and her mother's boyfriend (who they were living with) split up and they have nowhere to stay. I'm worried and really care about her. If I could, I'd let her stay at my house... but that's not an option because my mother won't have her. What do I tell her, how do I help?
Talk to her and let her know that you're here for her no matter what. Make sure she knows that you'll do anything and everything in your power to help her. If you think something's happening again (as far as cutting, or other self-injury), you need to talk to someone. School counselors are great people to talk to, and they'll keep you anonymous if you want. If she's hurting herself, someone needs to know so that they can help her.

Well if you're 14, it could just be a part of puberty. Your breasts are probably growing and while it's uncomfortable, I don't think anything's wrong with you. If you're really worried though, talk to your mom (or even a school nurse) and if one of them feels uncomfortable, you can go see a doctor!

Well, obviously she's moved on. That's pretty much all I can tell you. I wouldn't suggest telling her how you feel (not right now anyway), because that could make her uncomfortable and mess things up with her current relationship, which could lead to her being angry with you. I say that you find someone else for the time being, and if it's really meant to be, you and this girl will get together. =)

I think that Frank's being really insensitive to your feelings and I think you should tell him that. What he's doing is called sexual harassment, and you shouldn't tolerate it. Tell him that if he tries to make a move on you again, you'll lose all trust in him as a friend. It doesn't matter that he's your friend -- he should respect you and your wishes (and your relationship with your boyfriend) enough to stop being this way and leave you alone.

Im in student council and we have elections for officers (pres, vice pres, secretary, treasurer) tomorrow. I kinda wanna run for vp but my friend wants to do that too and i don't wanna run against her becuz i don't want to run against a friend. I could possibly win but i don't want to do that to her and if i don't get to do my job with the class officers (not student council officers) i'm gonna be mad. We decided that we were gonna nominate each other, but i'm not sure i want that responsibility that comes with the job. I don't want to run for any other positions because i don't quite think i can do those as well. On the other hand, if i don't run, i can still do my job as a regular student council memeber and hang out with my other friends. Should i run for vp or just not run at all? plz help soon. the elections are tomorrow.
I think that if you really want to be the VP, you should try it. If your friend can't accept a win or defeat against you, then that's her problem -- but you shouldn't limit yourself just because you're afraid of hurting her feelings or making her mad. I say go for it.

Well, I know how it is to move away from a friend or not be able to go to school with them anymore, because you don't get all that time that you could be spending in class or at lunch together. It really sucks to not be able to hang out as much as you want to.
It sounds like you and your friend really want to be close again, so here's what I suggest:
-go to the movies, concerts, or clubs together. Spending time together as friends is awesome!
-go to each other's houses; it means that you're truly letting each other back into your lives.
-be penpals. I have a friend that I haven't seen in over 5 months, but we stay close because we write letters at least once a week. We write about anything and everything, and sometimes fill up whole pages with meaningless drivel. But it's fun.

Talk to your sister and let her know that you're here if she wants to talk, and that you will be no matter what she decides she wants to tell you. You can't make her tell you anything, and you can't make her want to open up to you or your family, but letting her know that you're there for her with open ears should help her out a little.

ok my friend jessica has a HORRIBLE problem! she never stops sweating. even shes sitting down shes sweating. People usually sweat when there hot or doing physical activity but she sweats when shes sitting on the couch and watching tv. she was too embarased to ask this question online so i told her that i would do it for her (ima good friend lol) shes tried ALL diff deoderants and NOTHING can stop it. its only under arm sweating and its gotten so bad. please help her! thanks!

Ok I have my cartilage pierced and it's beel pierced since the end of May. I ran out of the cleaning stuff the store gave me and now it's infected and swollen. I was wondering what I could use to clean it. I have hydrogen peroxide and isperyl alcohol (not sure if that's what it's called). Would either of those work or should I use something else? Thanks! I'm not one to take medicine for pain, but if they're really bad, Midol and Pamprin work very well for me. You can also try lying down with a heating pad on your belly, or taking a long bath. Another great thing to do is get active -- go for a walk or go swimming. Getting active loosens the muscles in your stomach and tends to get rid of cramps.

I think that if it's something that happened in the past, and you don't think she's still doing it, you don't have much reason to worry. If you think she's still doing this, then you should talk to someone. A school counselor, a parent, or your pastor at church. Cutting a serious problem, and if you think your friend is hurting herself, something needs to be done.
