Q: hi. i read another question on here about heaven and for the Christians out there..what does it take to be in heaven? i go to church, i try to be nice to people, and i pray daily but how do i know if im doing enough? =(

I understand how you feel. Sometimes we feel like there's something we're missing, something we're not understanding, but we don't know what.

Please listen to this, I promise it will help:

Q: 14/F i am really confused rite now i have this boyfriend who is id say about 3 years older than me [ 17 ] hes a senior im a freshman & hes not a virgin and whatnot and i am . . we`ve been goin out for almost 5 months and hes starting to hint around that he mite want to mess around or somethin and the whole idea really makes me nervous considering hes my first real relationship & considering hes had more experiance than me and i am absolutly clueless . . hes never asked anythin be4 and im afraid that if maybe i dont do anything he mite break up with me . ? or something but i think its more of the fact that im nervous . what do you think i should do?

- confused & clueless
You say that you are afraid he might break up with you if you don't have sex with him.

Think about this for a second though... If he would break up with you over that, then he doesn't really love you, does he? Love means that he would stay with you no matter what. If he leaves you because you won't have sex, that's not love. He was just wanting you for what your body parts could do for him.

Bottom line: If he loves you, he'll wait. If he won't wait, then he doesn't really love you, and you should be glad to find out now so you can move on and find someone who does love you.

Q: I have problems remembering things. Here are some examples:
*for World history we had to make folder covers and had to label it "world history" but i forgot that it was world history so i put "world geography."
*i was talking to my grandma one time and i told her "ill never forget that time when..." and then literally 2 minutes later I forgot about it and I couldn't think of it.
*if I'm writing down a sentence from a book I have to look at the book every 2 words because i forget.
*In math or history I forget what happens or how to do a problem so when it comes to test time I don't do so well(i do good in math but HORRIBLE in history.)

those were just SOME things. What's wrong with me and is there any way to fix this??
I have had a similar problem for many years. The 2 things that contributed to it for me are:

Prozac

and

Aspartame (NutraSweet).

If you drink diet soda with NutraSweet in it, don't. It's poison. Not only did it hurt my memory terribly, it caused my heart to skip beats, and my hearing to get bad.

Q: Okay, My name is melissa, and i'm fifteen. Theres this guy at my school who keeps calling me fat. He says that i'm obese and that i should just stop eating!!! The problem is, that i'm 5,4 and i'm 105 pounds. I dont think that's fat, and all my friends say i'm stick thin....but, i dont know. If he calls me that, do other people think that? And...if not, how do i get him to stop?

Please help! I rate high!

~Melissa~
You are NOT fat, you are very thin.

It's just a well-known fact that if you want to insult a girl, any girl, just call her fat. No matter if she's nothing but skin and bones... or if you don't even have any idea what she looks like because you've only talked to her on the internet, she will still get insulted and upset. So it's the all-purpose female insult, don't take it personally.

By the way, it's possible he likes you but he feels that you are out of his league so he insults you to make himself feel better.

Q: What is an approiate age to have sex? I'm 15/F but I want to wait until I'm married. Is that the best time?

You're going to get a lot of different answers to this one, but if you want to wait until marriage, then wait! Don't let anybody pressure you into doing something you don't want to do, just because it makes them feel like less of a slut if everybody else is doing it, LOL. ;-)

Other people wait until marriage too, so you aren't alone in your feelings. Hubby and I both waited until our wedding night and we were 26. And yes, I absolutely think that's the best time. It's the best way to find a guy who really loves you for you. You'll know you haven't wasted yourself on someone who lied to you and was only interested in what your body parts could do for him. You only get one chance to give that gift to someone, you can never take it back.

Q: Hey, anyone heard of the Internet Directory www.dmoz.org? Well for those who use it, can anyone tell me how you can submit your site there? I tried "Suggest URL" but they just told me how to do it, not the form. Can anyone here help me?
Don't click the "Suggest URL" link from the home page...

First, you have to click into the exact category and sub-category you want your link to be in.

Once you are actually looking at the page of links you want your link to appear on, *then* click that "Suggest URL" link.

That's the page you use to submit your link. They also give you tips on that page. Following those tips gives you a better chance of being listed.

Q: is having sex before marriage a sin
The Christian Biblical answer is: Yes, it is considered a sin.

And I know it may seem like everyone is doing it anyway, but it's not really everyone. My husband and I were both virgins on our wedding night at the age of 26, so there are people out there who do wait, for whatever reason. ;-)

Q: hi i was eating a jawbreaker today and since i licked it a lot i have cuts on my tongue, and they hurt a lot. does any1 know how to help it heal faster? cuz it feels like its nvr gunna heal.
ill rate 5's
Swish some hydrogen peroxide around on your tongue. It kills bacteria, oxygenates, and promotes healing. (it does sting some)

Q: um, i am a virgin and all. and thats kinda the problem. most of my freinds arent virgins, and i get made fun of. even my father had sex when he was like 12. and its driving me practilly INSANE! im sixteen years old, and i "enjoy" myself almost daily. i am speaking the embarassing truth. one of the minor reasong why i bought a computer was so i could look up porn. and i tell myself all the time ill stop "enjoying" myself once i actually have sex. and thats put me at ease for awhile. i mean, other that that i ok, besides sucking my thumb.one time, a prostistute was asking if i wanted a good time, and as sad as it may sound, i was saeiously considering it. and thats when i knew i had issues. so the actual question would be: do i have problems? is this humane? shold i go out and see a shrink? please, this took alot of courage to admit this, so, please, dont judge me.
There's nothing wrong with you.

My husband and I were both virgins until we were 26 years old (on our wedding night), so not *everybody* is doing it at your age. It might just seem like it, sometimes. ;-)

It's much better to wait for the right person to come along, than to just do it for the sake of doing it and not being a virgin anymore. That's a horrible reason to lose ones virginity and can lead to much regret. You only get one shot at it, you can't take it back.

Q: How can you make yourself believe? Can you write "I Believe In God" a thousand times on a sheet of paper? Because I've been having trouble believing lately.
The fact that you are trying to *make* yourself believe in God shows that you do *want* to believe in God, and I think that's a good first step. But you can't *force* something like this.

Writing it down like that, isn't going to do it, though.

I might be able to help more if I knew what things you think about that make you want to *dis-believe* in God. It may be as simple as examining the things you have doubts about.

Email me at DangerWench@gmail.com if you want to talk about it.

Q: im 13/f and i am a very strong believing catholic. i masterbate once in a while. im wondering if that is a sin. i read in books and stuff that its completley natural but i wanna make sure that its not a catholic sin. please help. i rate high!!
...

To the best of my knowledge, this is the scripture that many people point to in order to say that masturbation is a sin:

(Genesis 38:8 - 10) "And Judah said unto Onan, Go in unto thy brother's wife, and marry her, and raise up seed to thy brother. And Onan knew that the seed should not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in unto his brother's wife, that he spilled [it] on the ground, lest that he should give seed to his brother. And the thing which he did displeased the LORD: wherefore he slew him also."

See, Onan's brother was dead, but Onan was supposed to marry his brother's widow and make her pregnant and the resulting baby would be raised as his brother's baby, not his. Some people translate these passages as saying that instead of making her pregnant, he masturbated, then got killed for it because he "spilled [it] on the ground" (his seed).

If you read it, it's pretty obvious that's not what happened because it first says "he went in unto his brother's wife". So basically, he had sex with his brother's wife, then pulled out at the last second in an effort not to make her pregnant. He didn't want to "donate" his seed to his dead brother, but he still went ahead and had sex with his brother's wife, you see?

That's the way, I read it, anyway.

If there is another reason that the Catholic Church thinks it's a sin, I don't know what it is. If they have a different reason, it might be from one of the exclusively Catholic doctrines.

The Catholic Church believes that the Bible is not the only authority. Their teachings include such documentation as Catechisms, and Papal Encyclicals (defined as "authoritative teaching instruments from the Vicar of Christ" (the Pope)) which have been written and added to throughout the years of the history of the Catholic Church.

Because of this, the Catholic Church has many teachings, beliefs, and traditions which are different from a Christian who believes the Holy Bible is the exclusive authority of Christianity.

Their belief that masturbation is a sin may come from one of these other authorities, rather than the Biblical scripture I quoted.

Q: Hey! Please don't answer saying OMG YOU'RE ANEROXIA or how ever that is spelled.

I'm 15 5'4 female about 135 pounds. I'm not really fat but i'm not skinny, but i use to eat way to much. Like i was bored, so i grabbed a cookie. Lately i've stopped eating and only eat when im hungry. Unfortunaly, i took this to the extreme by accident. I realized today i hadn't eaten (it's 6pm) all day and i should eat, so i had cheese and crackers and now im really full. I honestly hadn't realized how hungry i was. im afraid my body is going to go into starvation mode if i only eat once a day and make me fatter/ is that true? or is eating light once or twice enough to keep it satisfied and use the calories i eat?!
Yes, that's true... Going hungry throughout the day will cause your body to go into starvation mode, AND it will lower your metabolism on top of that.

The ideal way to boost your metabolism is to eat numerous smaller meals throughout the day, and don't overeat at any one sitting. Spread it out throughout the day. Going hungry and only eating once a day will not help you lose weight, trust me. It only makes things worse. Been there, done that.

Q: what is the difference between a Baptist and a Cathlic??
...

The Catholic Church believes that the Bible is not the only authority. Their teachings include such documentaion as Catechisms, and Papal Encyclicals (defined as "authoritative teaching instruments from the Vicar of Christ" (the Pope)) which have been written throughout the years of the history of the Catholic Church.

Because of this, the Catholic Church has many teachings, beliefs, and traditions that are different from a Christian who believes the Holy Bible is the exclusive authority of Christianity.

To the best of my knowledge, a Baptist is one of those churches who believes the Holy Bible to be the only authority, and no other documentation.

Q: Ok. I just had minor surgery on my left big toe. To be more specific, the surgeon ripped off half of my toenail and now it is wrapped up in a big toe turban. But the problem is, because the toe turban is so huge, it won't fit comfortably in a shoe! And I'll be having that toe turban on for a long time until my toenail grows back! And I'm going to school next week! What can I do? I really hate (and don't have any) sandals!
Buy a pair of super-cheap tennis shoes or canvas shoes. Then cut the tip end off of the one you'll be putting the hurt toe in. I wouldn't cut the sole/rubber part, just a cut-out in the top/canvas part. Just enough to keep your toe from being pressed on.

Then at least you won't be wearing sandals. ;-)

Q: I have a friend who is over weight and is always saying Im so fat!! Even though she kind of is I dont want to be mean so I say no your not.I dont want to keep lieing to her but I dont want to just say Yeah you are.How can I just make her stop saying she is fat and ugly without hurting her feeling.I rate high..PS If we say something mean to her she freaks out and says omg I cant belive you just said that.
Hmm.. Well if it were me, it might go something like this:

Her: I'm so fat!

Me: Well, if you're unhappy with yourself, I guess you need to either change it, or just accept it and learn to like yourself the way you are.

If she asks for help on losing weight, don't tell her to diet. Tell her to exercise. Dieting will lead to more weight gain in the long run (and can be unhealthy), exercise is healthy and promotes real fat loss.

If she keeps whining, and she won't exercise to do something about it, I would tell her that she needs to stop whining and just learn to be herself and not worry about size.

If all this fails and she still whines, you did your best. That's when you might just say... "Yeah, I guess you are kind of fat, thanks for pointing that out, I never would have noticed." ;-)

Q: ok... I'm 18 yrs old... So for my question... like the beginning of this month I had a gyno appt and she told me that everything was ok... Well now.... my period is suppose to start either today... or tomorrow.... well... it kinda started today.. but its not like my regular period... I mean.. I'm hardly even bleeding at all... not like my normal one where its heavy... I was put on a Antibiotic and the doctor never told me that it could affect my birthcontrol and i never new that... and me and my boyfriend have been having unprotected sex for like 6 months now.. but ive always always gotten my period on time... and the usual everything... now i'm scared because i'm not sure.... Could I be pregnant???? ;/

When having sex, there is *always* the chance you could get pregnant, unless one or both of you have had surgery that makes you sterile. Even without the antibiotic, the pill is not 100% effective. (different sources say it's somewhere between 92% and 99% effective if taken perfectly with no missed pills) So there is always a *chance* of getting pregnant. The antibiotic you took just raised that chance for you.

It is absolutely possible to be pregnant and still have some bleeding during your period. I would wait a couple of weeks and then get a pregnancy test just to be sure.

Q: how do you get over boys? i was with this guy for 7 months, we never officially dated but it was known that we were together. we had a sexual relationship and i fell for him big time. he suddenly started fooling around with his ex girlfriend behind my back and told me that he never really liked me to begin with. we hadnt had sex until about 8 days before we split and so he had no reason to keep me around to use me. he wasnt getting any benefits for staying with me for 7 months because i never really "did" anything for him. i know hes in denial that he never liked me. once i found out about him and his ex girlfriend (he never told me, my frined did) i decided to stop talking to him completely. i havent spoken to or seen him in 2 weeks. i unfortunatly cannto stop thinking about him. any advice...i know this was long sorry ill rate high
I hate to tell you this, but it sounds like you were a "challenge". And once he conquered the challenge, he moved on. It's quite possible he was seeing his ex (or other girls) on the side the whole time, and so it wasn't any big deal to wait for you to give in to him.

He's a jerk. Forget about him, you don't want to deal with someone like that.

Here's an idea... The next guy you find that you like... once you've gotten to know him and you think he really likes you, tell him that you have decided not to have any more sex until your wedding night. See if he's willing to wait. Then you'll know if you have one who likes you for you, and not just for what your body parts can do for him. ;-)

P.S. It wouldn't hurt to be tested for STDs... You have no real idea how many girls he was with, and how many guys those girls were with, and so on and so forth.

Q: I use the words: incredible, awesome, beautiful and amazing all the time. I was wondering if you knew any words that mean basically the same thing, but are different?

If you go to http://www.dictionary.com there is a search box at the top. Enter a word and click the circle that says "Thesaurus", then click search.

That will take you to a page that lists both synonyms and antonyms of the different definitions of a word, and also other words that have your word in their list of synonyms and antonyms. This is a very handy place.

As for words I found, here is a small list (sorry for any duplicates):

ace, astonishing, astounding, awe-inspiring, extraordinary, fab, fabulous, fantasmo, far-out, glorious, great, prodigious, superhuman, unreal, wonderful, boss, exceptional, fantastic, gnarly, heavy, marvelous, outstanding, phenomenal, primo, remarkable, singular, stupendous, terrific, wicked, wonderful, bang-up, best, breathtaking, cool, crack, dilly, doozie, extravagant, first class, greatest, groovy, immense, in spades, legendary, mind-blowing, out-of-this-world, outrageous, peachy, prodigious, rad, spectacular, striking, super, superb, top drawer, tops, unbelievable, unreal, wondrous.

That's just using the word "incredible" with the thesaurus. I'm sure there are more using the other words. ;-)

Q: omg I axcendently stepped on my ferret and now its just like laying there and its still breathing but real heavy i dont know what to do becuz i cant like take him to a vet or nething cuz they arn't open now..i dont know if its like gonna die or what! help what should i do?
I LL RATE HHIGH!
stephanie
Try not to move him too much. Get something solid that you can take him to the vet in like a carrier or a box, and put a towel or something in it so he's not laying directly on the cold surface. Transfer him to it very carefully, try not to move his position. Use a piece of cardboard or something like that if necessary. Once there, try not to touch him or move him.

Cover him with a towel or small blanket to keep him warm (but not hot), he may be in shock. Don't use direct heat like heating pad, just cover his body and feet. Don't cover his head.

If he's breathing hard, don't try to make him eat or drink. If he's wearing a collar, remove it.

Look up every vet in the phone book and call the numbers right now. Sometimes they will have an answering machine message that says something like "for emergencies, call this number" and you may be able to talk to a vet right away.

Q: I've always dreaded the first day of school just because I don't deal with change very well. I know that it's not as bad as I think it'll be, it's always fine. But I still get panic attacks and get really sick the night before and that morning. Any advice on how I can overcome this?
I used to have the same problem with panic attacks and chronic worrying. It was horrible. Sometimes I couldn't breathe, the pressure on my chest and on my heart was so great. You ask how I learned to deal with it, so I'll tell you.

I don't know your thoughts about God, but this is how I deal with it. I lay down and close my eyes, and I pray that God will take away my worries. (I also ask in the name of Christ)

Then I imagine that I can see God's hands stretched out, palms up, like they are waiting for me to put something in them.

So I imagine lifting the fear and worry out of my body and placing it into God's hands, and asking Him to please take it away from me and replace it with calm and trust. I keep doing this until I feel the pressure on my chest feel lighter and lighter, and I become filled with peace instead.

Then, of course, I Thank God for taking away the horrible feelings. :-)

I know this may sound weird, but honestly, this is really how I deal with it. (Or I guess you could say it's how God deals with it for me.)

I'm DangerNerd's wife. We met on an internet personals site back in December, 1996. He flew across country to meet me for the first time in late February of 1997, and we were married a few weeks later. We've been together 9 years now. :-)

If you want to mail me, my email is DangerWench@gmail.com

Yes, I do sometimes copy and paste my own answers to answer different people's similar questions. I still personalize/edit them when necessary... but for instance, my advice about diet and exercise it going to be pretty much the same every time, and that's a very common subject for questions here... so there's no point in typing the same thing over and over and over again. ;-)

********************************************

Yes, hubby and I were both virgins on our wedding night, at the age of 26. Yes, we are both Christians, but we greatly dislike what "Christianity" (or "Churchianity") has come to represent in many people's minds these days... Hypocrisy, greed, pride... Things which the Bible says we are NOT supposed to do. We are supposed to be a good example, not a bad one. :-(

If you have a Christian acquaintance who is hitting you over the head with "Jesus will bring you peace and joy and happiness" tell them to listen to this:

http://www.dangernerd.com/kirkcameron.mp3

(It's 9 megs, so it may take a bit to download)

If you can't download MP3's for some reason, you can download the zip file.

http://www.dangernerd.com/kirkcameron.zip

If they are an actual preacher/pastor, this one is geared more towards them:

http://www.dangernerd.com/raycomfort.zip

Send them the link, or burn it to CD and give it to them, whatever it takes.

If they really listen to that, they will see how the Bible itself says the way they are annoying you is wrong. :-)

If you are a Christian, please listen to it, even if you aren't beating people over the head with Jesus. I promise you, it will give you a new perspective. It's totally awesome.

I'm also fascinated by prophesy, and I do think we are living in an age where we are seeing many things come true that were prophesied 1,000's of years ago.

There has been a lot of hubbub lately regarding my views on the differences between Catholicism and *exclusively* Bible-Based Christianity... Mostly due to my not making myself clear. I did have a big long explanation here, but this time I will opt for the KISS method (Keep It Simple, Stupid). Yes, the following is the simplified version. ;-)

Because of this, the Catholic Church has many teachings, beliefs, and traditions that are different from a Christian who believes the Holy Bible is the exclusive authority of Christianity.

A Catholic Christian believes in the Catholic doctrines, teachings, and traditions which include, but are *not exclusive to* the Holy Bible.

Most non-Catholic Christians believe the Holy Bible is the *exclusive* authority of Christianity... No other documents.

Much argument comes from this, as quite a few non-Catholic Christians (myself included) believe many of the man-made Catholic doctrines to be un-Christian and not corresponding with Biblical scripture. And obviously, Catholics disagree.

For more information about the differences between Catholicism and *exclusively* Bible-Based Christianity, see the following link:

Roman Catholic Doctrine vs. The Holy Bible

And a final note about that link... That e-book isn't written by Jack Chick, I have a lot of problems with Mr. Chick. Some of his tracts are great, and some of them are way "out there" if you know what I mean. I do not support Jack Chick. This e-book is written by Rick Jones, who was a Catholic for many years, not Chick.

"This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth." (2Timothy 3:1 - 7)
