Writing it down like that, isn't going to do it, though.
I might be able to help more if I knew what things you think about that make you want to *dis-believe* in God. It may be as simple as examining the things you have doubts about.
TheOldOne answered Sunday August 21 2005, 7:04 pm: Faith comes from within. It's an emotional thing. You can't MAKE yourself believe, no matter what you do, any more than you can *make* yourself fall in love with a particular person. You either do, or you don't. But it's not something you can control.
If this issue is really troubling you, you should talk to your spiritual counsellor - your minister, rabbi, priest, Imam, or whatever is appropriate for your particular faith.
If you find that you just can't believe, try not to torture yourself over it. Many other people have been there. I have. It's a hard thing to go through, but it IS survivable.

If you fail to read this notice, then sueing me would be useless because I would just say "you should have read the notice"!
Personally, I don't think you can make yourself believe in a God. You can have your own religion! Someone had to start Buddhism. Someone had to start Christianity. Someone had to start Judaism. So why can't you have your own personal beliefs? If you don't think you believe in the God your church is talking about, you can just believe inside yourself that God just watches over us and is our conscience, you can believe that there is a different God for every element of life, or you can even stop believing in God altogether. Whatever you want to believe, you have every right to believe. [ Dakmor's advice column | Ask Dakmor A Question ]
BWvolley answered Sunday August 21 2005, 6:33 pm: to blelieve...you should feel it in your heart. Writing something down (no matter how many times) won't make you a believer!!! Pray about it and in time, God will answer your prayer. We all have some doubts, but you should know if you are a believer. If you are not sure, then you prolly aren't a true believer. You will know once you believe. its just 3 steps. 1 admit that you are a sinner and that you have sinned and you can't make it through life wiothout God. 2. Believe that Jesus is God's only son and that nothing is more important. 3. Commit your life to God. Everything you do should be about God. (This is very hard to do) but thats what a Christian is about....no one said it was easy being a believer.....just pray about it and trust God with your life and He will take care of everything!!! Teza answered Sunday August 21 2005, 6:08 pm: You can't just MAKE yourself belive. You can say it as many times or write it down as many times as you want it wont change. It wont make you belive. Beliving in something is in your heart and you just have to figure that out. [ Teza's advice column | Ask Teza A Question ]
poa answered Sunday August 21 2005, 5:45 pm: It's not something that a person can just say in a reply. It's a fairly complex thing, and it would be easier to get into a conversation instead of a Q&A scenario.
If you would like to discuss it ~ You can talk to me on AIM/MSN/E-Mail (Although i'm going to be gone until tomorrow afternoon)
