I was put on a Antibiotic and the doctor never told me that it could affect my birthcontrol and i never new that... and me and my boyfriend have been having unprotected sex for like 6 months now.. but ive always always gotten my period on time... and the usual everything... now i'm scared because i'm not sure.... Could I be pregnant???? ;/

The light bleeding could be a sign of pregnancy because many women who are pregnant get some very light bleeding around the time when they would normally have had their period. This is commonly known as "spotting". Although you could have just started your period really lightly this month. If it doesn't become heavier within a couple of days, you should take a home pregnancy test to see if you're pregnant or not. [ devilspawn_666's advice column | Ask devilspawn_666 A Question ]

DangerWench answered Tuesday August 16 2005, 5:11 pm: When having sex, there is *always* the chance you could get pregnant, unless one or both of you have had surgery that makes you sterile. Even without the antibiotic, the pill is not 100% effective. (different sources say it's somewhere between 92% and 99% effective if taken perfectly with no missed pills) So there is always a *chance* of getting pregnant. The antibiotic you took just raised that chance for you.
It is absolutely possible to be pregnant and still have some bleeding during your period. I would wait a couple of weeks and then get a pregnancy test just to be sure. [ DangerWench's advice column | Ask DangerWench A Question ]
