Ok. I just had minor surgery on my left big toe. To be more specific, the surgeon ripped off half of my toenail and now it is wrapped up in a big toe turban. But the problem is, because the toe turban is so huge, it won't fit comfortably in a shoe! And I'll be having that toe turban on for a long time until my toenail grows back! And I'm going to school next week! What can I do? I really hate (and don't have any) sandals!

They cover up your toe and r comfortable and go with ne thing. Yuo can buy them from ne where..walmart to sams to target or on the internet. Hope it helps!
DangerWench answered Wednesday August 17 2005, 10:42 pm: Buy a pair of super-cheap tennis shoes or canvas shoes. Then cut the tip end off of the one you'll be putting the hurt toe in. I wouldn't cut the sole/rubber part, just a cut-out in the top/canvas part. Just enough to keep your toe from being pressed on.

sbloemeke answered Wednesday August 17 2005, 10:00 pm: I think I had the same surgery on my finger. I may be wrong. Anyways,
What I did was I wore the turban for a few days. Then, I took a big bandage (One of the extra-large sizes), put padding in it, and wrapped that on. It did the same thing. Once the bleeding stopped, I removed the padding and just used the bandage.
I suggest that to you, as it is the same thing, just smaller. If not, I'd suggest that you get shoes that are 2 sizes too big for you. Enough room, and they aren't ginormous. [ sbloemeke's advice column | Ask sbloemeke A Question ]
