Hey Everyone :) I'm Kate and a level 2 mod on here. I've had this account since July 2004, so I've been on here since I was 13! Wow ... crazy for me to think how long ago that was. I will admit I don't check in as often as I once did, but being away at college, being in a sorority, and having a job when I'm not at school is very time consuming. I still try to help out as much as possible, and if you send me a question I WILL answer it. hi i am fourteen years of age and i have never had a partner, which means ive never been to any of the bases!! is the first kiss always the worse? i dont know what i am supposed to do when i am going to kiss somebody, like what your supposed to do with the lips, teeth, and tounge, and i am scared! i dont want to feel akward when i really suck at kissing..and im not really talented!! someone please tell me what i should do!

Well she should break up with him. OR he should break up with her. You're question is sooo confusing since you said... "he also said that shes been cheating on him but that is also true. " I will state that in that sentence you said she cheated on him. Why are they dating each other if they don't like each other. Oh, and if you want more people to help you, make the question a bit easier to read with grammer, spelling, and punctuation. They are all wonderful things to have. And I figured when you said the cheating thing your meant that is not true also, so watch what you do/don't write. But umm yeah, you're friend and her boyfriend should just break up. It doesn't take rocket science to figure that one out.

Every time someone says I wanna go to Mardi Gras, I'm always like "ME TOO!" but the truth is, I don't know exactly what its for and what you do there. I've only seen clips of people partying on the street... I think it would be fun, but what is it your doing and is it some type of celebration of some sort? It looks fun, but what is it?

Well since you can google search this and you have all those other wonderful search engines I'm just going to give you a little info, because I don't know tons about it either. I know that it's a celebration, I'm not positive on what they're celebrating, I'm not sure if it's right, so I won't share it here. But it's in New Orleans (or at least where the REAL parties happen) And the guys will give girls beads if the girls will flash the guys. I've never been to a mardi gras celebration, but I went to a mardi gras b-day party and we wore masks just for our eyes, you wear lots of crazy looking things. I don't really know how to explain mardi gras. Just try a google search or a yahoo search or something. You'll definitley get more information then I'm giving.

can you get a disease or STD from fingering well from being fingered

It's possible, but it isn't probable. If he had an std, and he has a cut on his finger, and he fingers you then you are able to get that same STD.

Ummm, I don't really remember. But down towards the bottom of my column, above my buddy profile, it says music from_____ if you can't click on it, then just go to the website. That's what I had done to get music. And remember, even though I'm a mod, we don't like people having music on their columns because not everyone likes that stuff I guess, but that's why I tell ya'll how to stop the music. Well if you like him back, then tell him. Or just flirt a lot and make it obvious. If you don't like him, then let him down gentley. Be like... I heard you like me, and I'm not sure if it's true or not, but I don't like you as more than a friend, sorry. Hope this helps. I've heard that if you go on a diet that restricts food intake or doesn't have the right nutrition, that when you go back to normal eating, you will gain back all the weight PLUS more. The gaining back all the weight makes sense, but what is it that makes you gain more? Just curious.

Your metabolism slows down. Trust me, I know, I used to be anorexic, and I sure did gain back all the weight plus more :-( Lately I've been trying to lose it, good luck to me ;). But that's pretty much it, your metabolism gets used to you eating less, so it stays at that pace, and once it slows, I don't think your metabolism gets fastser, so it's just your stupid metabolism...

Well I assume since you don't seem really worried that you already were tested for STD's and you already took a pregnancy test. If not, then DO THAT!!!!! Then it's both your decision and his if you want to tell his girlfriend. I'm not saying you both have to agree on it, but both of you had and still have the oppertunity to tell her. The longer you wait, the angrier she will be. But think about this, if someone cheated on you, would you want to know. If you answer yes, then get up the nerve to tell her. Or at least inform him that you want to tell her so if he says wait let me, because it'd be much better for the cheater to tell then someone else. If you decide that you wouldn't want to know, then I would still tell. Good luck.

abercrombie and fitch was the most popular store pretty much to shop at. now hollister is..its just like abercrombie practically but i guess u could say thier pants are cheaper..anyone who doesnt know..abercrombie pants are 70.00 and up while hollister is 40.00 .. anyways everyone is now wearing hollister and i havent gotten around to going yet. when i go to hollister i dont want to buy all this stuff and have people coming up to me saying i have that u copied me..and so on. should i care ..or should i just be up to date?

Where what you like to wear. I know what you mean saying that hollister is the in thing, but wear what you like, can afford, and is comfortable for you. I still shop and aripostle, pac sun, hot topic, and heck, I even shop at goodies. I don't have anything hollister, but I don't care. You don't have to be 'up to date' wear whatever the hell you want to wear. And if that means wearing hollister, then wear hollister. Hollister has nice clothes, or at least nice clothes that look good on guys ;-). But if you prefer hollister, and somone says something because that's what you're wearing, tell them to f%c# off.

I have lime green walls, but my matress is like reversable, it's different on both sides, one side is mostly green(different shade then my wall) with like other colors in it, then the other side is like a pinkish reddish orangish (I'm not looking at it now so I'm not too sure of the color) with some light blue, a little bit of yellow and stuff. But what I'm trying to say is both would look good, I prefer green just because my favorite colors are lime green and baby blue. Colors like pink and light blues would also look good with the color of your walls. Just an idea.

I know we really aren't supposed to ask homework questions but I really need help. I have Algebra finals next week and I do NOT understand how to do these types of problems: Factor- 2x - x + 4, x - 81, and 4x - 13x - 30 = 0. Whenever I ask my algebra teacher all he says is: "HOW CAN YOU NOT GET IT????" and then he just explains it the same way all over again and I still don't get it. I'm already at a C- in his class and I'm normally an A - B and nothing lower student so this is bad. I really need help. If I don't pass this exam I could fail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

On the sidebar under where it says Welcome, (your username) the 5th link down (or something like that) should say Favorite Columnists, click on that, then it should say beside each username delete, just click that, and they have been removed.

i am in seventh grade and i am am taking algebra. im not doing so well. its a hight shcool credit class and i have like a 77. thats not good. i get to add seven points because im taking it before high school and when i add seven points thats my grade for my gpa but i would like to be making a 90 or above atleast with the seven. i try so hard. like i feel confident and i check over my work and it all seems right but i alway get stuff wrong like i always get 70s on thye tests. and i hate it. today we had 20 minutes to do a really hard 6 question quiz. it so wasnt enough time. i didnt even get to answer two questions. but i know for a fact i got the bonus right so the highest i can make is a 72. i am stressing out so much. i try i really do i need to bring up my grade. right now were learing about systems of eqautions and stuff. ill have a test sometime next week and ill need to geta 95 or above to satisfy myself. i need to bring up my grade. can some help me learn to ace theese thests and quizs??? i really hate algebra!! please can you help??

Well, you can always get one of those Slyvan learning center teachers (I saw one of those commercials not to long ago) Or you can ask your teacher for extra help, or extra time on the tests. I'm in algebra right now, but I'm in 9th grade, high school. Next year I'm taking honors geometry and algebra2 (I would take honors alg2 but I heard it was WAY too hard) I'm making a 100 average in my class (1b) and last semester when I took alg1a I made a 96 in the class. I just recently got a 121 on our test (the highest w/o extra credit obviously is a 100) But with extra credit the highest I could've gotten was a 125, I screwed up on 2 graphs otherwise I would've gotten it. I'm sorry if it sounds like I'm bragging, but if you want any help on something math related, just drop one in my inbox. The only other thing I can say is that ther's this one website (you have to pay) and you type in the problem, they show you how to work it out, and they give you the answer. If you want the site, I can try and find it for you. Or you can just askjeeves. But you'll probably either have to ask for extra time, or extra practice (even if it's more work) or for extra help after school, or before school. Sorry I kind of bragged more than helped. But if you want to know how to solve any problems, just give me a problem I'll work it out for you to see, then I'll give you the answer. If you ask for more than one, then I'll work out whichever you think is the hardest and work it out all the way down to the end where I'd give you the answer, then for the rest of them I'll work them halfway or something and you can look at the 1st one to figure out how to do the rest.
Right now we're working on mononumials, we finished scientific notation (which I learned in 6th grade anyways) and we finished multiplying exponents (which I learned before my class) and we're about to learn how to divide exponents (I've already learned, so I'll fly through it) But anyways you can ask for extra time, extra help, or extra practice, or drop one in my inbox with no more than 5 of the problems. Hi.. I dont really know where to start but first off i cut myself... and i do it beacasue my life is so hard.. Many of my family members have died and in January 5th my friend Joe died and he was really specail to me .. and so i took out the blade.. and i started cutting.. and i have lied about me cutting myslef but if i told my mom she would kill me ... most of the time her and i get along but some times we have issues and she yells at me sometimes and it gets me all fired up jus wanting to cry .. and then i have an older brother ((15)) and he hits me sometimes.. and he annoys the crap out of me and that fires me up 2 .. and then i have a little brother ((6)) and he does everyhting in his power to annoy me .. lik for instance hell make faces at me and make nasty commments about me lik how much he hates me and i cant take it anymore.. and so i bring out the siccors and i cut myself.. Now i go to this Christain Youth Center and we talk about god and isssues and just things that come to mind.. and the lady incharge i talk to her about me life and how i feel and i tell her that i cut myself and last week we all got into a discussion about anything we wnated to talk about and then someone starts to talk about Depression and then it gets deeper into cuttin yourself.. and im just sitting there thinkin .. y is she talkin about this ... and it hurts me bad to hear this women say that its stupid to do it and its not right to take it out on myslef.. and so im wondering if i can really talk to her about my life anymore.. but im askin if i should continue doin this if it makes me feel better (( maybe not inside)) but i cant talk to my mom 4 certain reasons so imaskin you people....

Cutting yourself solves nothing. I know because I used to cut, and I've been cut free for like almost 2 weeks, it probably would've been over a month, but something happened, and now it's 2 weeks. Cutting is a really addictive habit, just like alomst any other habit, so it's hard to quit. The first thing I did was go to a teacher. She used to talk about stuff like that in class, and I was like what the crap, I remember one time I almost started crying right in the middle of class. But after a while I found my reason to live, and I found out that the grass really is greener on the other side, and I found the light at the end of my tunnel. Then the light got darker, the grass lightened up, and life sucked. But I just thought about the stuff the teacher and my friends had said to me and I thought well maybe I can get through this on my own. My friends don't know that every once in a while I slip up and I cut. My teacher thinks I haven't cut in over 2 months, boy is that wrong. But you need to try your hardest to find someone to talk to. If you talk to a guidance councilor (I DON'T reccomend) they WILL call home. They say everything is confidential, but if someone is harming you, you're harming yourself, or you're harming someone else then they HAVE to break confidentiality and tell someone. Some teachers will tell guidance or call home, and some teacher and other people will keep your secret and try to help. My friend told me she cut herself, I told the teacher that helped me, but I never actually said the girls name. Talk to one of your youth pastors about it. Ummm, if you want anything feel free to e-mail someone with experience. My life still has a lot of down parts to it, but you have to keep optomistic, and SMILE! okay for you older high school students...i`m a freshman in H.S. and i was wondering do you think when you do your eyeshadow you should just find one really good color like a certain shade of bronze that looks really good, or should you wear eyeshadow that matches your clothes?

Well, if I'm wearing a shirt with some pink in it, then I'll wear pink eyeshadow, mainly because it looks good on me, but umm yeah. It's somewhat tacky to wear eyeshadow just that matches what you're wearing, because if blue eyeshadow doesn't look that good on you, and you're wearing a blue shirt, then don't wear blue eyeshadow. Mainly it depends on your skin tone/color, and whatever looks good on you. It doesn't really matter, just wear what you think looks cute. If pink looks good on you, then where pink, and if you're wearing pink in your clothing to, well then who cares :-). I'm only a freshman in high school, and I just started really wearing makeup not too long ago, so this is just my opinion. Do whatever you want. I've seen much crazier things with makeup rather than just matching you clothes or anything like that.

I need help QUICK!! Im getting my braces tightened for the first time tomorrow and I know to expect pain but how much? And do they hurt WHILE he's tightening them or AFTER hes done? Should I take advil first? Will i be able to eat/chew food afterwards? How long does it take for him to tighten them? Thanks ill rate high!!

I don't think it hurts while they're tightening them, but your mouth does get a little sore afterwords. And about eating, lets just say after I got mine tightened, we went out for breakfast and I got a bacon egg and cheese buscuit that I was fine eating. The only reason you fell any so called pain is because your teeth are moving so of course it will be sore, but not until about an hour or so later (that's how it was for me) When you first got your braces on, quite a few hours you felt some pain? Well you'll feel less pain than that unless you aren't pain tolerent, then maybe it'll be a little more painful. My pain lasted for a few hours, but that's because I wouldn't shut up (I'm extremely talkative) and so it just wasn't helping. Don't get clear! Get like pink, or blue, those are pretty colors for braces!! Hope my answer isn't too late!!

It's legal in some states. Where I live (NC) there can be no more than a 5 year difference if one person is under 18 and the other is 18+. But it is illegal if you do anything sexual because it's considered rape. So make suer your friend knows this.
