A few thoughts I've gathered from my teenage years (and being on this site for most of them!):
1. If you Google song lyrics, the song will come up 99% of the time.
2. Dress to fit your body type, and buy the size that fits. If you're a size 6, squeezing into a 4 won't make you look skinnier. It makes you look fat when you aren't.
3. You will never regret waiting to lose your virginity.
4. There is such a thing as a stupid question, but we're all allowed to ask them.

advice

what's a good brand to dye your hair for the first time with? i was thinking garnier frutise, but idk. don't sayyy go to a salon because i'm not gonna pay a ton of money while my friend can do it who's dyed her hair many times and is god at it. my hair is like a medium brown with faded half grown out dark blonde/light brownish highlights. which is why i want to dye my hair in the first place. i want it to either be darker, have a tinyy bit of a red tone, or a little lighter. nothing too drastic.

I've used Garnier Nutriesse and Garnier 100% Color [brand loyalty]. The 100% color was a more intense color, which was what I needed because I have almost-black hair naturally. Garnier Nutriesse worked well, too, but has more "normal" colors [they didn't have the greatest reddish tones which is what I like]. If you have longer hair, I'd go with 100% color since it seems to have more dye.

As long as your friend knows what she's doing, you're fine. Make sure she gets all along your hairline; a lot of people miss that and don't go all the way to their scalp & it looks weird.

Well, I'm 14/f and I have these purple...bags, i guess you could call them, under my eyes. They're not like PURPLE PURPLE. they're like...not even purple. They're really annoying, and whenever i take a picture, that area under my eyes comes out dark & unattractive. Does anyone know what these are, and how i can fix them? thanks in advcancee =)

Dark circles. They're usually caused by lack of sleep or weird sleeping schedules, things like that. Some people get them more than others, something with genetics. Also, some medications cause them because it interferes with bloodflow. They're probably not as bad as you think they are. Invest in a good concealer [if you're bad with matching shades buy it at CVS so you can get a refund] and get plently of rest. Also check out this article:

im about to start high school soon. any tips on boys, school, friends, anything about school??

Be yourself, don't change yourself to make a guy like you. Spend time with friends every chance you get, and don't be afraid of making new ones. Don't be pressured to do anything you don't want to do- drugs, drinking, sex, etc. The pressure is there, but it's easier to say no than you might think.

School is different than middle school. You're not chased for every missing assignment. You don't pass something in, you get the zero. Homework, at least for me, wasn't as bad as some kids make it out to be. Some days, yeah you'll get swamped. Just DO it and you're done. Big assignments don't have to be tackled they day they're assigned, but don't start the day before it's due either. If the school doesn't give you an agenda, get one. It's easier to remember all your assignments if they're in the same place every day.

Lastly, the upperclassmen don't bite.. much. No, really, most of them will leave you alone and not even acknowledge your existence. Crowd their hallways or steal their boyfriends, they'll psuh you around and get even. Don't do anything to them, and they won't do anything to you. I'm a sophomore now, and freshmen year was a blast. Just enjoy yourself; it's over before you know it & it's a great learning experience.

My guy friend has a girlfriend. We had a little thing going on in the past (we're both 18) and now we're just friends. So okay... He asked me for my photobucket account password. I gave it to him, since we're like best friends. I log in...and next thing I notice...is his girlfriend's pictures RIGHT THERE. I questioned him. You know..What the hell? That's not me...why are you putting pictures of her in MY photobucket? I just got SO annoyed....I told him to not upload her pictures...okay. He didn't anymore. Then today, he goes to me...'Can I upload pictures of her in your photobucket? :D' and I go "WHY?" and he tells me "Because they're cute". I'm just thinking in my head...Why on EARTH would I want pictures of your girlfriend in my album??

Please tell me...is my reaction completely wrong?

When you gave him your password, he probably interprted it as being allowed to use your account for pictures he wants to save. I don't think your reaction was completely wrong, but he probably doesn't see it as making you jealous or whatever- he probably just wants those pictures and thinks they're cute (it IS his girlfriend, after all) Suggest that he get his OWN photobucket account. They don't cost anything to sign up, after all, and he's free to upload whatever he desires without you complaining.

if you leave a safty pin in a bellybutton piercing will it get infected or like rust inside you? i heard that it can mess it all up.

Yeah it could get infected, especially if said safety pin was used to pierce your skin to begin with, and wasn't sterilized and/or disinfected on a regular basis.

It's probably not the greatest idea since it could get caught on things more easily than a regular ring, but I'd ask a person at a piercing place to be sure. It might be okay if the hole was pierced correctly & it's healed over already, but I don't know for sure.

does anyone believe that there will not be another book after book 7? absolutely? j.k. rowling says shes not interested right now but its not impossible either. tv show anyone?

I don't think there will be. She's even said so on her official website that if she DID write another, it would be a encyclopedia of sorts and the proceeds would go to charity. She's also mentioned the possibility of writing in a completely different genre after Harry Potter is done.

No, who you like is pretty much involuntary. Since you barely know him, you know nothing about his faults or anything like that. You just know the first impression you had of him, and how he looks. Nothing wrong with it at all; just don't destroy their relationship over lust. :)

I have this Oil of Olay face lotion and this loose powder bronzer. I put a little bit on my hand and mix some of the bronzer in so that it matches my skin tone, and put it on like lotion. Is this okay .. is it better to use than foundation? I like it better because it's mousturizing my face without it looking really cakey.

If it works for you, keep doing it. Foundation doesn't work for everyone. You've found an alternative that looks great on your own face- good for you!

It actually sounds like it's better than foundation, since moisturizer and bronzer don't clog pores. So definitely keep this up! :)

what does s4s and w4w mean

s4s means "sign for sign" Like you make a person a sign and they make one for you.

w4w is "whore for whore" You post a bulletin asking all your friends to add a person, and they do the same thing for you. "Whoring" is getting as many adds as humanely possible by advertising your profile, basically.

theymos is correct. Here's the Occupational Outlook Handbook pages for an astronomer; I can't find cosmologist, though I imagine the salaries are similar.

ok, so my mp3 player doesn't hold as many sogns as i want it to.
it has one gig, so i know it's supposed to hold AT LEAST 100, but it only does about 45! how can i fix that??

Import your songs at a lower quality. Standard MP3s are at 128kbps. Also, song length and the formatted capacity of your MP3 player will affect how many songs it can hold. :)

EDIT: If you use a program like iTunes or WMP, and put a CD in and rip tracks to your computer, you're importing. Under preferences there's a way to change the quality, usually under Advanced. If you're using Limewire or something comparable to that, it's the formatted capacity of your MP3 player, most likely.

why does it freak a guy out when a girl that they've had a secret crush on finally starts to show an interest back and flirts with them, especially if he has no problem flirting with the other ladies?

A lot of guys flirt with every girl they come in contact with. If they REALLY like a particular girl, they're worried about messing up around her. When she starts to show an interest, they can get overwhelmed.

Plus, for a "secret crush" it doesn't seem like much of secret to me. If everyone knows about it, that's another reason for him to freak out.

I'm good friends with a girl and she told me she'll go out with me eventually but not now. What I want to know is, what do I have to do to get her to go out with me sooner. She calls me like almost every day and we talk, but I don't know if she's hinting about anything.

She could be hinting that she's intersted in you. Girls are confusing [I'll admit that] and sometimes we act flirty around people we're only interested in as friends. See how she acts around you when you're in a group. If she seems to be giving YOU more attention, it's a good sign.

Things you could do would be showing an interest [describe your ideal girlfriend and use a lot of HER traits], doing things she likes [you probably already do, since you're good friends] but go the extra mile- see a movie she's interested in, but its not something you'd choose. Stuff like that. Compliments are nice, just don't overdo it.

Tell her how you feel, though. Tell her that you're still interested in her as being more than a friend. She may be confused about YOU- all the things you do together could either be flirting, or just being friends. Straight-up honesty is key no matter what :)

what are some good cakes i can try to make?

Coffee Cake! Here's the recipe my family uses [and yes, I just dug through the recipe box for it, so it IS worth it]

Combine in a large bowl until creamy:
- 1 stick of butter
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla

Mix in another bowl, then add to the first bowl:
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking SODA
- 1 teaspoon baking POWDER
- 1 teaspoon salt

Pur the batter into a 13x9 pan [preferably glass] that's been greased and floured. Top the batter with chopped walnuts and a mix of cinnamon and sugar. The more, the better :D

Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes or until it passes the toothpick test.

i know everyone doesnt have to take the SAT. but, what is it for? i live in MS and i wanna go to CSU(california state university), do i have to take it?

I'd say yes, you need it. Take it anyways. A lot of colleges DO require it, and one or more of your safety schools may require it, or another college you decide you want to go to, and you'll be glad you took it then. Plus, if you get a really good score, it could be the deciding factor if there's one spot left and the other person didn't take the SAT... you know?

If you're the right age, take the pre-SATs too. It'll help you do better on the SAT by showing your strengths and weaknesses.

Okay, I want a guitar really really bad but I don't want to ask my parents or brothers because they'll laugh at me. I just want a basic not electic guitar.. Where would I go to get one because i have like 125 dolars in the bank but i haveto keep 5 in it so really i have 75 but i just started saving if i empty it now.. it would show im irresponcible and cant handle money.
What Do I do??

I got a brand-new acoustic starter kit at a local guitar place for around $100, and electric was about $20 more. It came with everything I needed. I bet you could get a used one even cheaper, check Guitar Center or something like that. Or even someone you know, you could buy one off them if they're done with it.

If you're teaching yourself [lessons are $15 each and UP] get one of those books with a CD to play along with. They really do help.

Order it at whatever Borders is closest to your house- you can just pick it up when you get back [make sure the store knows to hold it for you until then] Or, you could preorder it at the Borders in Florida, but you'd have to remember to pick it up, haha. Whatever works better for you, do it. You'd get the book sooner if you ordered it there :)
