What is up with these 13 yr olds and getting pregnant/asking for advice about fingering and sexual things like that. wtf is our world coming too.When I was 13 I was still playing coodies with the guys next door or riding my bike around the neighborhood. yeah, pretty gross, huh. well some kids are just really curious about what everything is when they hear someone talking about it. i don't really see that many younger girls getting pregnant but yeah now they're staring sexual stuff a lot younger... and that comes from people being more open about it and tv and also because it's the cool thing to do to look older at that age. hope that kinda gives you a different take on it... i'm still kinda searching for that answer for myself and thats what i've come up with. <3

Yeah, I agree. I feel that people whom are getting pregnant are just getting younger. Heck, I always see 12-year olds running around getting pregnant like it's some disease. And what really makes me mad is when they think it's all cool to do it. I don't know if it's some issue that came from media, or they just do it because they feel like it? I don't know. But it's getting pathetic, yes. A lot of Girls are just letting themselves go these days. And I'm a girl myself so I am not trying to be sexist in any way. I just think it's the truth.

its a newer generation now. theyre just curious. children are starting to grow faster and faster and there isnt much you can do about it. i think its the fact that they can ask anonymous people online about certain things that makes them want to know. and there is nothing wrong with that. remember, its better for them to know what it is then just being "okay, you can do that to me/we can do that" in a certain situation and not knowing what it is.

Omg i know im 16 and still haven't had my first real kiss (but thats by choice lol) and yet my sister's 7th grade peers are being given the reputations of being sluts!! And its not like the parents are doing anything about. its like they wantt their kid to be like that, idk i blame the media, the parents, and the gay 'r and b' music.

Personally, I believe that it is because of the shows they watch or maybe their older friends, or even the older people on advicenators who ask advice about the same subject.

I totally agree with you! I was nearly 18 when i first had sex, yes it was still young but I wasn't pressured and I felt like it was the right time. I definitely don't regret it!!! At all!!!!
I didn't do it because everyone else was doing it, i did it for me! Not to mention that I had been with my boyfriend for a year and we're still going strong!

Years ago, children were strictly disciplined. There was no such thing as TV, and when there was there wasn't all the stuff that we see. The soaps and dramas we see would have horrified them. There weren't teen magazines or the internet and sex was a taboo subject. However, as time went by people got access to all that stuff younger and younger until we got to where we are today.
The media plays a HUGE part in how kids mature. I know for sure that I never knew about a huge chunk of issues and problems with the world until we got the internet. And I never knew all about the wonderful world of sex until I started reading teen magazines. I'm not saying that the media is the only reason that we're maturing faster, people's general attitudes have just relaxed a lot. Parents aren't as up tight about letting their children access all that stuff, it's now seen as a positive thing to education teens about sex as young as possible so that they're not at risk from STI's, pregnancy and even sexual abuse.
Another problem is that the general phyisical development age is getting lower. When I was about 8, the average age for girls to start their periods was 13/14, but now it's as low as 11. When people go through puberty, they devlop a lot of sexual feelings and more often than not end up doing something about them. So the younger people reach puberty, the younger they become sexually active. And of course, once you start your period you can get pregnant, which explains the 13 year olds asking about pregnancy. I live in Britain where we have the largest number of teen pregnancies in Europe, there are 10 and 11 year olds getting pregnant - it's crazy. When I was 11 I was so immature, there's no way I would have been able to raise a child, I still couldn't now.

Wow GREAT comment!! As someone who works with teens everyday believe it or not I actually see some 13 yr olds who are sexually active. It breaks my heart because its not that they are ready or at times even want to have sex or experiment its more that they are afraid that if they don't they will become outcasts or lose their boyfriends/girlfriends.
What many young teens - this includes 13,14,15 and yes even 16 yr olds - fail to realize is that sex should be a treasured experience not something that needs to be gotten out of the way. Its a sad state of affairs when a 26 yr old woman become a grandmother, but its happening every day more and more.

I was way over the cooties thing when I was 13 personally lol, but I wasn't anywhere near sex either. I dont know if sex makes them feel more mature,'cool',or whatever but theyre not gunna get anything out of it except an STD+a reputation
&I know a lot of them claim to be "in love" and thas why they do it, but cmon. No ones gunna find the "love of their life" at fucking thirteen.

My opion People are matureing and growing up fatser. They are being pressured but they are only younge still so they dont know right from wrong. And to the people under me, if you are sick of the people aksing those questions dont bother with them you dont HAVE to answer them. People arent all perfect.

I know, kids each year are getting more and more worse it seems to me. I was the same way as you, staying out of the way of the older kids, playing barbies and such doing whatever and being good.
But then just today I was walking down the hall at the Jr.High ( I'm a highschooler I have a class over there, though ) and these girls were like ,"MOVE OUT OF MY WAY!" and cussing and being jerks and dressed like they were a hooker, I swear. And I see all these 8 year olds with cellphones, who do they seriously need to call?
But it's just the society we live in now is changing so much and there's all those movies out there and tv shows showing kids a whole nother world of drugs and sex and bad stuff and sometimes the parents just don't do anything about it and let them do whatever. I'm not saying it's the parents fault, sometimes they don't even know what they're kids watching. And if the kid has an older brother or sister, they'll sit there behind them while they don't know it, listening to them talk, catching words they say and learning about things like sex and all certain types of things.
I also think that it's because whenever you're young, older people don't listen to you much, do they? They do, but not REALLY what you have to say. And you can't drive, you can't date, you're basically not allowed very much stuff, so I think that kids think if they're sitting there acting older than they seem, they'll get more and get to do more and kids nowadays just want to grow up way too fast. I'm only 15 and I don't want to get any older. ( well, 16'd be nice so i can drive haha ).
That's also where the sex and drugs come in. They think it's cool and you're more older than you seem if you're already having sex and making out with guys and doing drugs and smoking because it makes you seem older and cooler and makes everyone like you and want to be like you.
Kids nowadays just need to calm down, have safe fun and enjoy their youth.
People don't realize that they've only got one life, and they need to make the most of it.

The simplest answer is the disemination of information.
When I was younger, which wasnt too terribly long ago, we knew a little about sex. We knew people had it. But it was something that almost no one did until high school or later.
These days, kids know all about sex. And parents arent keeping up with that. Most parents wait until like 14 to have the sex talk, and they either dont know or are in denial about the fact that their kids are starting with oral sex at the age of 11 in some cases.
Also, the one thing parents do convey to their kids is that sex is something that is forbidden to them. Children are curious, and rebellious. Parents say you cant, kids want to try it. And these days kids have enough actual information to carry it out.

It shows, to me, a failure in society.
And the sad thing is, it's getting worse and worse with each year and even every generation. I don't want to imagine what age kids will be becoming sexually active when I turn 30. It's pitiful what some kids will actually try to do to fit in, or even try and fulfill their own destructive tendancies.
I hold part of the blame to the parents, who don't know how the hell to discipline kids these days. When I was 10 and I did something wrong, I didn't get put into "time out", I got smacked. Nowadays if a parents does that they get carted into court for "child abuse". It's a lack of discipline and self control.
I think if I hadn't taken a personal vow never to harm myself or my personal beliefs forbad me too, I would have long killed myself at the complete mess society has made of itself.
