A few thoughts I've gathered from my teenage years (and being on this site for most of them!):
1. If you Google song lyrics, the song will come up 99% of the time.
2. Dress to fit your body type, and buy the size that fits. If you're a size 6, squeezing into a 4 won't make you look skinnier. It makes you look fat when you aren't.
3. You will never regret waiting to lose your virginity.
4. There is such a thing as a stupid question, but we're all allowed to ask them.

Well we have to do paper mache on monday so the teacher told us not to wear any valuble clothing cuz it's gonna get messy and dirty. But I have very little clothes (exactly 5 outfits for the school days). What can I do?

Borrow a shirt from your parents.
Or just be super-careful and wear something that could stand up to being washed six times (to get glue out)

Can someone tell me something about becoming a vegiterrian. Is it hard to start? Do you loose alot of weight? What are you supposed to eat? I'm just curious because I want to become one. Kthankks. :D

Is a great place to start. It's kind of extreme, but it has really good recipies and stuff. I used to be a vegetarian, and it wasn't that hard for me. Even now that I eat meat, I still eat hardly any- you find meat substitutes you like, such as Boca burgers or those mushroom meatballs. Make sure you're taking a multivitamin everyday because you might not get all the nutrients you need. Also, make sure your doctor knows you're a vegetarian, because a lot of them don't get enough iron.


As for losing weight, it's hard to say. A lot of the American Idols are vegetarians and lost a lot of weight. I think it's because as a vegetarian, you're more aware of what you're eating, and you eat healthier food and less fats.

I'd think it was cute, haha. Depending on if I knew him or was friends with him, I'd probably jokingly call him a dork or something. A lot of guys do absolutely nothing that resembles dancing, so you wouldn't stand out at all.

OK, so, it's spring break and about 5/7 of my friends are somewhere they can get a nice tan.

I live in CT, and it's been cold & rainy these last couple days. There's no way I can get a tan. I want to go tanning, but my parents won't let me because a.) we don't have any money, b.)they don't want me to get skin cancer and c.) i don't really have a ride to get there.

Spray/lotion tanners really don't work with me. I turn orange. So, please don't tell me to try this one or that one..I've already tried them. But thank you. :)

And there aren't any spray-on tanning centers near me.

So, my questions are...
1.)How can I get tan!?!?!
&
2.) [This doesn't really have to do with tanning] With only 3 days left to spring break, how can I make myself look different? I can't dye my hair, my parents won't let me. I don't have any money to get new clothes..

I live in southern MA. The sun came out late this morning, and it's supposed me be sunny for at least part of this weekend. So as soon as you see a significant amount of sun, run outside and try to tan =]. I know you've tried self-tanners, but have you tried Jergens Natural Glow? I'm pretty sure it's unable to turn ANYONE orange.


As for making yourself look different, try new things with the clothes/hair accessories/makeup you already have. It'll probably be warm enough to wear a skirt to school on Monday, so you might try that. If you normally wear your hair up, wear it down, and vice versa. Do your nails a wacky color, and try something new with eyeliner.

There is someone in my house. The phoneline is dead and I am typing very carefully so he doensnt hear me. I don't know what to do my heart is beating out of my chest. I'm on the third floor, i don't recognize the car outside and there's a huge racket downstairs. HELP

IM a close neighbor or something. Make sure you don't move around. Whoever it is may leave and not even know you're there.


I don't know if this is real, or not. But if it is, you need to call the police somehow. Cellphone, maybe? If your internet's working, the phone might actually still work, even if you don't get a dial tone. It's worth a try.

I'm getting my first blood test tomorrow.
I hate needles..

Does it hurt?
What do they do?

I heard very bad stories..
They need 2 samples from me.

Is there anyway to distract myself?

I really dislike needles/shots.. and veins. So poking me with something sharp near my veins.. makes me lightheaded.. [thinking about it]

I'll be totally honest here. It's scary, it's annoying, and it's not fun at all. Look at your arm right now, fully extended. Can you see veins? If you can't, ask the nurse straight up to use the smallest needle she has (even if you CAN see them, it'll hurt less); it'll be less uncomfortable.


She'll put a tourniquet on your arm to make your veins bulge out a little, its not that bad and actually hurts more when they take it off.


Look away as they're putting the needle in and thin of something, ANYTHING, else. Orange flying squirrels, dancing hippos in hula skirts, etc. It'll be over before you know it. Plus, all the information is so valuable to your doctors, whether they're just checking your cholesterol or checking for a sickness. It's worth a little pinch.


Relax, and you'll be just fine =]

You could choke.

Seriously, I think you're fine. In theory, it could get stuck to your esophagus or stomach lining, but that's highly unlikely. Stomach acid would likely dissolve it before it had a chance to stick itself to anything, especailly if you're like most of us, and eat food and drink things. For me, it gives me a stomachache if I make a habit of it. If you're worried about swallowing gum all the time, just keep the wrapper the gum comes in and throw it away.

what should you buy and start out with?

I think you should start out with:
- a good foundation (Maybelline has some great ones and they're relatively inexpensive)
- pressed or loose powder
-concealer
-an eyeshadow trio or quad that compliments your eye color
- eyeliner (black to start with)
-mascara
- & a lipgloss or two.


You may also want a moisturizer made spcifically for your face, since it makes your skin more even (and makes foundation look more natural)


Order doesn't really matter much. Everyone has their own little routine. I do my foundation first, since it takes me the longest. Then I do my mascara, since it makes your eyes pop. Plus, you'll use less eyeshadow. And if you mess up mascara and have to take it off, you won't take off any eyeshadow and you'll waste less time. Know what I mean?


Lastly, clean the brushes that come with eyeshadow about twice a month. YOu may even want to buy a separate brush. Target makes really nice makeup brushes that are really inexpensive, too. Sephora has professional ones, but you'll pay a lot more for them. Mascara should be replaced every 4 months or so, or as it gets clumpy or dry.

so for 4/20 im hanging out with some friends
basically im not popular but i guess i sorta am i dunno how to explain it.
anyways for 420 me and 3 of my friends are hanging out with a few reaaaaaaaally popular guys which is pretty nice.
i dont want to do drugs becasue thats gross, but maybe drink a little. but i dont wanna get drunk. so i need advice for how to act drunk
and since ive never been drunk before, what if my mom calls i probabaly wouldnt pick up but like if you were drunk you wouldnt be able to answer normlally right?

Acting drunk is fun, haha. Just slur your words. Stumble around. Me, stuff like that comes naturally. Answer your phone as you normally would. Call your mom yourself and tell her everything's fine, reassure her that you're doing fine (and by NOT slyurring your speech and basically not acting like a drunken fool, she'll be reassured too). Don't drink just to impress other people. If you're just drinking water and not making a big deal of not drinking, chances are nobody will even notice.

It depends entirely on where you part your hair. Part in the center, your bangs follow that. Part off to the side, and your bangs will fall similar to that picture.


For best results, part your hair when it's wet from the shower. Blowdrying helps hold your hair in place, along with lots of hairspray. It does take a fair amount of practice, though. But it's fun, too! =]


If you truly can't get the style to work for you, ask your hair stylist to do it for you once, then part your hair in the same place everyday and mock what she did at the salon.

i hate shopping for swim suits. unfortunatley im not super skinny so i cant wear a bikini =[ really i need a tankini or somethin like that but i cant really find any, because all the places i look they have like 1 tankini and its ugly so any places would be great!

Try Kohls. They have a LOT of tankinis. Even in juniors. The womens' swimsuits aren't all "old-lady" styles either. If you look, you can find some really cute ones. Plus, the juniors' section has a lot of different cuts for both tops and bottoms. Last time I went, they had a LOT of boy-cut and skirted bottoms. So you'll definitely find a style that works for you.


One thing about Kohl's though - the lighting in the dressing rooms is HORRENDOUS. So completely disregard how bad your skin looks; the lights bring out every imperfection. Focus more on how the suit fits.

ok so basically i'm sick.....ugh..
well i have 2 questions
1. i've been blowing my nose like crazy and now the bottom of my nostrils are really sore and raw, what can i put on it to make feel not as sore?
2. today and tomorrow are TAKS days, i keep so i have 2 go 2 school, today i was coughing and coughing and coughing. i couldn't stop. well the teacher said i was disturbing the class with all my coughing. =,(!!! well what can i do to stop my coughing without taking cough syrup?

1. Vaseline. Seriously, there's nothing better.
2. Cough drops. If you don't like the taste, try Halls Fruit Breezers or even suck on some Jolly Ranchers or LifeSavers. Anything to keep your throat from getting too dry. Keep water with you too at all times. If your school doesn't like you carrying water, have the teacher sniff it first so she won't think it's vodka ;)


Also, take something like DayQuil before you go to school, and take a hot, steamy shower. Both will help with congestion a LOT.

ok i meet this guy through my friend and i'm really starting to like him but my friend told me that she doesn't want me to talk to him anymore b/c she's afraid he'll hurt me like he hurt her. i guess she really liked him and he just lead her on. but who's to say that he'll do the same thing to me? and i feel like i can't talk to her about it b/c when i ask her about it she just tells me noe to talk to him. i kinda think that she's jealous b/c he likes me alot and i like him alot. should i keep talking to him or respect my friend's wishes and not talk to him? plz help me! thx.

i'm looking for a (big-ish) picture or painting to hang in my room. my walls are yellow and orange and theres pink in my room so i'm thinking that something black and white, or maybe a beach, because i want my room kind of tropical themed. or something to do with dance. so where can i get some good pictures? name stores not websites please

AC Moore and Michaels. Or whatever craft/hobby stores are in your area. You can get framed or unframed art at a low price.


Also, for something a little more unique and less manufactured/modern/cheap-looking, browse through consignment shops, yard sales, and estate sales. You'll have to be patient, but you'll soon find a piece that really speaks to you. Plus, it'll be unique and have a history - AND it will likely come with a nice frame (less work and money for you!)

okay well in one of my classes, this cute boy sits behind me and i am really outgoing to him cause that's just naturally how i am. i always talk more and i become the OPPOSITE of shy when i'm around a guy i like, for the most part.

well, in that class, i always tend to converse with him, and my teacher always snaps dirty looks at me to get to work. well i try really really hard to concentrate, but i dont want to ignore him! how do i stay on task and not talk to him without seeming like a hoebag?

Talk to him at the beginning of class. Then, when the teacher says it's time to work or whatever, just smile and - get this!- do your work! By talking constantly, you'll be causing BOTH of you to get dirty looks/poor grades. Plus, you can always partner up when you need to work with someone!


Try talking to him outside of class too. If he gets mad at you for not talking through algebra every day, he's probably not worth your time though. Just letting you know =]

I'm moving next year and i was talking to my friend that i was worried that me and my friends wont talk that much anymore cause i'm moving to a different state. so my friend Terrie said "dont worrie we will keep in touch, we are best friends. and i make sure we will still be friends forever" that made me feel all warm inside.
Till yesterday i said the same thing to my friend Sally, i told her i feel bad and worried that we wont keep in touch, sally didnt say anything. She was quite and i was hoping for her to say something like terrie did to keep me not worring.
now i feel like sally will not keep in touched. we were friend for 7 years. why wouldnt she say anything?
is she mad that i will leave?

She's probably really upset about you moving. She could possibly be in denial too. Try talking to her again, and give her your new address/phone number when you know it. I'm sure she vaules your friendship just the same as Terrie does, they both probably handle difficult situations like this differently.
