Hey Everyone :) I'm Kate and a level 2 mod on here. I've had this account since July 2004, so I've been on here since I was 13! Wow ... crazy for me to think how long ago that was. I will admit I don't check in as often as I once did, but being away at college, being in a sorority, and having a job when I'm not at school is very time consuming. I still try to help out as much as possible, and if you send me a question I WILL answer it. What are some new years resolutions?!

What are some things you'd like to do? A lot of people I know want to stop smoking, want to make better grades in school, want to make more friends, want to become fit and in shape. You could find a new hobbie. Is there anything you don't like about yourself? Do you smoke or drink... you could stop. Would you like to learn how to do something? If so, then practice and learn how to do it. If you spend too much time on the internet or on the computer then only allow yourself a certain amount of time per day unless you have homework or something you need the computer for. Is there a certain guy/girl that you like? Put yourself out there, make that person like you (If you are single) If you are taken and not single then make your boyfriend/girlfriend happy that they are with you. Make your resolution to become a better all around person. I'm not really sure what I want to make for my resolution, I have some tough classes coming up with teachers I don't like, I can make my new years resolution to try my hardest and don't let the fact that I dislike my teachers get in the way of my studies. Just think of things you'd like to improve, and make one or more of those things your resolution. If there's anything you dislike about yourself then change it for the better. Most likely he's jealous because you are flirting with other guys and showing no interest in him. Maybe just maybe he has a thing for you. Do you like him? Even a little? If so flirt a little with him, see how he responds to that? You didn't really give us much information just that he seems bothered and sad when you flirt with other guys, so maybe he's jealous and likes you, or maybe he's just being a good, yet overprotective, friend and he doesn't think any of the guys you're flirting with would make a good match with you. ok...i have turned into a complete and total prep..my family had ALOT of money...i get 100 every 2 weeks for allowence...and next month, i am getting a brand new SL55 AMG mercedes-benz...
but only my family knows about it...i dont want to tell anyone else, but people are starting to find out...my old friends have started calling me a "rich bitch" just because of the colthes i wear...and they completly kicked me out of the clique...so i started hanging out with the other "rich kids" and they are really nice...everyone thinks that they are evil, just because they have money...next semester, my parents are sending me to a private school..which i also havent told anyone about...and tuition alone is 18,000 per year, let alone books and uniforms...people are turning their backs on me just because i have money, and i am dreading to find out how many of my friends are going to leave me after they find out how much money i actually have..i feel really sad that my friends are leaving me just because i have alot of money...i could understand if i was bragging about it, but i havent told anyone...what do i do?

They obviously were never really your friends to begin with. I have this one friend whos father just sold a piece of the race track that he owned and ther got over 10mil for it, she gets 1000 every month and they paid off all their bills and they moved and her parents set aside money for her and her brother and sister to go to college. She's still the same person and she doesn't let it get to her head. I mean usually you would think more people would want to be your friend because oh my goodness you're rich and maybe you'll do stuff for them and/or become more popular, which is so not the truth. I mean truly they must not have liked you and are just using that as an excuse. Just ignore them, they weren't being real friends, and aren't good enough for you. And if they make any cracks about you having money then pay someone to beat the crap out of them (just kidding) Just ignore it or be like "Yeah, I do have money, and it seems like you're jealous of it, otherwise why else would you have gone from best friend and biggest support to worst enemy and biggest bitch! Just be like, just because I have money doesn't mean I'm different. You're saying that you've always had a lot of money just nobody knew about it? Tell them that! I mean be like I've always had this much, I just never actually did anything with it, so obviously I'm the same old person. Oh, and quit bragging. You might not notice it, but saying that you get $100 every 2 weeks, and that youre getting a benz has almost nothing to do with the question. You could've just said you had a big allowance and you're getting a nice car. And you could've just said private school was really expensive, you didn't have to say the price, none of that had much to do with the question. So, seriously, you probably don't think you're bragging, but you are. Besides you'll make new friends. Just let the old ones know that whether they wanna be friends with you or not, you are NOT the steryotypical rich girl, you're the same old person you've always been.

I was at a friends party. We started playing 7 Minutes In Heaven. Well, my best friends BF, who we'll call Phil, was there. F/13 me and my sister was talking today and I told her I started my period to day. She told me she never started. (she is 16) Is that normal?

If she is into sports or if she runs a lot or goes to the gym, or is a gymnast or cheerleader then it's completely normal to not even start until your 20s, but so far give it another year or year and a half then she NEEDS to see the doctor. I was just talking about this with a friend of the family who is 21, she didn't start hers until 16 almost 17 and she wasn't really into sports, she was just really petite and really healthy. The healthier you are, or the more active you are then the longer it'll take to get it. I'm 14 and haven't had it... I was anorexic for like 3 years and that had something to do with it.

Hello. Um, I have a problem with this guy who lives in my neighborhood. Everyday he harasses me sexually. I've tried telling the police, but they said without hard evidence they couldn't do anything. I'm sort of a feminist, so something like this shouldn't be a problem for me. But, I'm too afraid to tell my friends or family. I'm 16 and he's like, 25. So, I know it's illegal.
What should I do?

Well, I saw this on t.v, so it might not work in real life, but I'll tell you anyway. Okay have a friend hide in something like a closet with a small video camera, or a digital camera that works as a video camera, and get to to touch you in those ways and catch it on tape. Or if you have a camera and he wants to fool around, tell him you think it's sexy to tape it. I know since you're a feminist (or I think) that it's probably against what you stand for and you probably think it's a stupid idea. Another idea could be have a tape player on in your purse... don't turn it on until you get near him. Does he talk sexually and stuff to you or just touch. Because if he also talks that way then you can get it on tape. Or when you're walking past where ever he lives and he's outside or something have a friend somewhere within camera shot and have her take pictures or catch on tape whatever he does to you.
I know, if someone game me this advice I'd probably say thanks but never do it because it seems to complicated which it is. I say only use my advice as a last resort because like something could happen while trying it. Try talking to a really close friend, like have her sleepover one day, then walk around the neighborhood and as you walk, pass his house. Then be like oh my gosh that guy is such a freak, he like sexually harasses me and some other girls. Hopefully your friend will like notice you said and that be like oh my gosh and stuff like that. If not, then when school starts back up in January go to guidance and see what your councilor can do for you. Good luck, I'm really sorry that this pervert won't leave you alone. My friend lives right next door to a guy who was convicted of rape, and for her party we camped out in her back yard... guess who decided to visit us at like 3 in the morning? okay well im in a tough situation. my friend or well i thought she was my friend. well we have been friends for like three years and i thought we were really good friends. and this year has had its ups and downs and now we are in a fight for like a few weeks now. and im like just so upset bc i thought we were good friends and now it seems like she hates me. i mean all the other arguments we've had i always was the one to take the first step and resolve it but im just tired of that. and i mean now that shes not talkiing to me it's like our friendship meant nothing to her and it hurts and i don't know what to do. i know it was part my fault but i just want out friendship back but ddon't think it will happen

Well, do you two still havea teh same friends? If so then do this whole group thing where all of your friends and you go to the movies... and then you would assume that one of the other friends would invite her. You would end up having lots of fun, making new inside jokes, and one of you would be like, "I'm sorry". Truly, maybe she is embarassed to say something, maybe she knows since you've made the 1st move before you would do it again. Was it a huge fight? Are there any possibilities of the friendship coming back? If not then don't be mean to her, if she says something mean to you just ignore it, don't sink down to her level. Just stick with whatever other friends you have. Otherwise you can tell her that you're sorry, if she forgives you...good, if she doesn't, then she isn't worth your time. Make a scrapbook of pictures of fun times the two of you (and more people?) have had together. Nope. Admin does a lot of things with this site, but you have to realize some of the html codes are really hard to work out and stuff. If we ever get one then I'd be happy to inform you, but right now I'm pretty sure that unless admin hasn't told us moderators about it then she hasn't done it. Sorry if I sound mean or something, I'm just kind of aggrivated at the moment, it has nothing to do with you.

Yeah, she did that to someone else in a recent question and I reported abuse. It should be taken care of, hopefully.

Only level 2 and 3 moderators have that power. But if someone sent a harassing question to your inbox, or if they stated something in a question that's against the site rules you can always file an abuse report. Just post the link to the question and as much info as you have.

When typing are you supose to use your pinky? i barely do only when i hit enter.. barely then to... am i typing wrong?

Well in the correct form of typing it's supposed to be asdf jkl; and you use thumbs for space, and you then use other fingers that are closest. But really I have never picked up how to type that way. I type pretty fast, but I don't type that way. You don't have to use it, unless maybe you're in some computer class where it's neccessary. I don't know many people that do it. I know that my mom does it, and I think maybe my dad does, but I only use it every once in a while like sometimes when I do an Aa or an Ss or capslock or something. There really isn't a correct way to type. I mean there is, but tell me really, how many people use that way. As long as you don't type like using just two fingers while typing, as long as you can type at a certain speed then it's usually okay. I hope I didn't confuse you, I think I might've confused myself, but I hope I helped. There's a 'certain' way to type, but not many people use it, as long as you can type 'fast enough'.

Hey well i have a problem, this guy that i really liked my freshman year(know a senior). He lives with his girlfriend but his girlfriend, but she doesnt give him any sex and he comes to me. I think I'm anorexic. But I might not be because everyone says that the first quality of an anorexic is denial. I don't know. My friends say that I am, because I don't eat much for lunch and most of the time don't eat lunch at all. I never considered myself underweight, but I guess I would be in like, the 10th percentile. Most of these people are wrong. I was anorexic, I saw a psychologist about it. There are 2 types of anorexia. One is when you are really really underweight even when you eat because of how fast your metabolism is or just because you eat super healthy foods and gain like nothing from it. I had the anorexia where you don't eat, I went almost 3 years with the biggest thing I ate every other day would be either a SMALL bowl of soup, or one slice of toast. If you are really underweight then you are anorexic, and I mean like 10-20lbs underwieght. Go to www.am-i-fat.com and search for where to enter your weight and height, it'll tell you whether your severly under, malnurished, perfect, watch out, obese. Oh, it might not be anorexia, it could just be some other thing. Look at what haliebop (or whatever it was) said, that's also true.

Yup. I was anorexic, I did lose a lot, but if you skip meals then something about the water in fat in your sysetem do something crazy and you gain. It's really odd, but my aunt and uncle are both doctors and they know about this stuff. So sort of yes and sort of no. I mean when I was anorexic I went from 90lbs to 70lbs in over a year of course, but I also was gaining more because I only ate breakfast but then eventually I got sick whenever I thought of food, and when I stopped eating (I only ate breakfast in the 1st place beacause of how important it is.) and I gained a few lbs. It's something with your body, but it's only partially true. Sorry, it was kind of hard to explain. Happy Holidays!

My parents keep the house so so so so so cold...I'm always freezing and it's the middle of the winter...it's always like 60 in here, and I've told my parents so many times that I'm SO cold when its that cold, but they don't care. They say that they are comfortable that way, and that if they turn it up they will be too warm. I'm not the only one who thinks its too cold...friends or relatives who come over say its so cold! But, they don't have to live here!!! I DO!! What do I do???

You think that's cold, I live in NC, we're from NY, so my parents think that the friggin 30 degree whether outside is nice. I used to think that way too because it was so much colder. Well my room is right above the garage, and we turned part of my closet into an attic, whatever tempature it is outside my room is either 5 below or 5 above it. I always sleep with a sleeping bag under me, a flannel blanket and a comforter on me. It's freezing, and I know how you feel. Do you have a fan in your room? My dad told me that if the fan is blowing and turning one way then it makes cold air, but if you do something and get the fan to turn the other way it produced warm air, and that really does work. If not then I'm sorry, but I tried. Try wearing long sleeve PJ's and pj pants instead of shorts and short sleeves (if that's what you wear) Hope I was of some help, Happy holidays!
