My house is so cold..it's inhumane:(

Question Posted Saturday December 25 2004, 10:39 am

My parents keep the house so so so so so cold...I'm always freezing and it's the middle of the winter...it's always like 60 in here, and I've told my parents so many times that I'm SO cold when its that cold, but they don't care. They say that they are comfortable that way, and that if they turn it up they will be too warm. I'm not the only one who thinks its too cold...friends or relatives who come over say its so cold! But, they don't have to live here!!! I DO!! What do I do???

Look into some ways you can make other rooms in your house warm. THis is the situation with my. My fam has the house freezing. I had to buy a portable heater. Take a look at [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
they have a bunch of ways you can heat up your house for cheap. Or new ways you can stay warm.

Well i guess the best i can tell you is to bundle up! get a comforter for your bed, extra blankets, or whatever. if you have to wear your sweaters to bed. i hate the cold to i must be warm at all times.

You deal with it.

Your a kid, you have no idea how much it cost to keep a house warm. You don't pay the bills, you don't pay for heat. So put a sweater on and stop complaining.

Get a lil heater for you room. I sometimes turn my straightner and computer on and shut my bedroom door and its get nice and warm and comfy in here :) you could try that!! Or.. you could just turn the heat up when they arent home. And turn it down around the time they get home but that could get you in trouble because they might see a slight change in the bill. I've been alive for 15 yrs and 3 months.. and i've only ONCED touched the heater thing. But thats just me! So you could try it if you wanted to.. but its your risk! Hope everything works out for you!! MERRY CHRISTMAHANUKWANSIKAH!!! / Merry christmas!! ((please rate)) Trix!

Pretend like you're getting really sick lol.. or that you're getting a cold. Walk around sneezing and sniffing and coughing all the time. And complain that you're cold a lot. Then maybe if your parents care then they will turn up the heat b/c they don't want you to get even more sick.

You think that's cold, I live in NC, we're from NY, so my parents think that the friggin 30 degree whether outside is nice. I used to think that way too because it was so much colder. Well my room is right above the garage, and we turned part of my closet into an attic, whatever tempature it is outside my room is either 5 below or 5 above it. I always sleep with a sleeping bag under me, a flannel blanket and a comforter on me. It's freezing, and I know how you feel. Do you have a fan in your room? My dad told me that if the fan is blowing and turning one way then it makes cold air, but if you do something and get the fan to turn the other way it produced warm air, and that really does work. If not then I'm sorry, but I tried. Try wearing long sleeve PJ's and pj pants instead of shorts and short sleeves (if that's what you wear) Hope I was of some help, Happy holidays!

wear like heavy hoodies and like 3 pairs of socks and sweat pants and bring a blanket with you wherever you go. or you could always just turn it up yourself and maybe your parents won't even notice. keep moving so you'll stay warm. happy holidays!

Well if they wont let you turn the heat up then turn it up without them looking. If that doesnt go to well wear some swetshirts around the house and get some fleece bed sheets so that your not cold. Stay with a relative if it gets serioussly cold.

Hey, definately wear sweatshirts and long sleeves..stay bundled up in blankets. Also, keep your curtains closed when your cold. It will prevent the coldness from your window to circulate! If you feel your window i bet its pretty damn cold lol.
Hope it works

pinayprincess74 answered Saturday December 25 2004, 11:26 am:
Wear sweaters all the time! Okey, so maybe thats not the best answer. But, you know the air vents on the ceiling in your room? Close the airvent. That will prevent any cold air from coming into your room. Close your door and air vent, and most of the heat will stay in your room. Hope I helped.
