twynelyne answered Sunday December 26 2004, 2:23 am:
absolutely! when you stop eating, your body goes into "starve mode," thus preserving your stored fat! eat a little at a time throughout the day, and you will have all the energy you need without gaining weight (if u wanted to know).

No, you`ll lose a bunch of weight in the beginning..but then you`ll gain it back. The body will live off of the fat in your body at first..and msucle..which will cause weigt loss. However the body cant do that forever..so if you go anorexic lets say...the little bit you eat will be stored and you will stop losing weight. Then as you get back to your normal food consumption..you`ll gain some weight

No...

When you do cariovascular things, (like sports) you burn calories..If you were to stop eating, you wouldnt get enough calories, so your body will feed off other things, like the fat on your body, so you would actually loose weight..

AsKmE135 answered Saturday December 25 2004, 6:46 pm:
Yes and no.. if you stop eating for a while, what your body does is it starts trying really really hard to store all of its fat and your metabolism slows down. So not eating just makes it even harder to lose weight.

False. If you stop eating you will die. Your body will decompose causing you to lose weight.

AdInA answered Saturday December 25 2004, 5:48 pm:
it actually is true.. because food speeds up your metabilism, and if you don't put any food into your system your metabilism slows down. if your metabilism slows down.. you gain weight.

XxRockon answered Saturday December 25 2004, 5:25 pm:
yes becaause your body needs to eat something to survive so it gets water and then you have water retention which makes you gain weight..but its water weight..i think.

MaxwellsSilverHammer answered Saturday December 25 2004, 5:10 pm:
When you don't eat for a period of time you slow down your metabolism, so when you actually do eat, you're body will digest the food slower and more inefficiently, and you can gain weight.

Yeah. If you start dieting like crazy and stop eating, then you get thin to start with but once you start eating again your body really needs all the nutrients and stuff so you put on alot of weight.

Moop answered Saturday December 25 2004, 4:59 pm:
when you don't eat your body retains water, meaning that you don't lose any excess weight because your body replaces it with water. And since water weighs more than fat, you gain weight. This does not mean that you should stop drinking water, because then you'll have other medical problems.

S_C answered Saturday December 25 2004, 4:07 pm:
Yup. I was anorexic, I did lose a lot, but if you skip meals then something about the water in fat in your sysetem do something crazy and you gain. It's really odd, but my aunt and uncle are both doctors and they know about this stuff. So sort of yes and sort of no. I mean when I was anorexic I went from 90lbs to 70lbs in over a year of course, but I also was gaining more because I only ate breakfast but then eventually I got sick whenever I thought of food, and when I stopped eating (I only ate breakfast in the 1st place beacause of how important it is.) and I gained a few lbs. It's something with your body, but it's only partially true. Sorry, it was kind of hard to explain. Happy Holidays!
