Hey Everyone :) I'm Kate and a level 2 mod on here. I've had this account since July 2004, so I've been on here since I was 13! Wow ... crazy for me to think how long ago that was. I will admit I don't check in as often as I once did, but being away at college, being in a sorority, and having a job when I'm not at school is very time consuming. I still try to help out as much as possible, and if you send me a question I WILL answer it. lastnite i was on the fone with my boyfriend and my mom kept coming in saying she needs the phone and i wouldn't get off cause my boyfriend and i were in the middle of a conversation. So... she took my cell phone which in this case my dad bought for me (parents are split up) and i pay for monthly and she only did it to waste my minutes. so when i got off the phone i walked into the living room and there she was on the couch talking on my phone and i got pretty pissed off about it. So... i tried grabbing it from her and told her to give me my damn phone but she pushed me away and slapped my arm and then she finally got off but she wouldn't give it to me and she went and got the home phone so again i tried grabbing for my cell phone and she pushed me into the wall and started choking me and cussing at me and so i called her a fucking bitch and she pushed me onto the couch and punched me in the chest and in the face and slapped me across the face and kept saying what did you just call me and i tried kicking her off me and then i finally got her off me and she goes to my stepdad you wanted her here then you can stay with her and she left..... thats just the background... but my question is what am i supposed to do, I have a HUGE mark on my neck from where she was choking me and now i have worse breathing problems (i have asthma pretty bad) i mean like should i call the poilce or should i call child services i have no idea what to do!! HELP ME PLEASE
First you should tell someone other than us that can help you get out of the house. You can't be living in those conditions. Do you and your real dad (the one that gave you the phone) keep in contact? If so, and you wouldn't mind it, see if you can move in with him. But definitley try the police or child services. You have the proof with the bruises. If you don't tell someone that you can get seriously hurt. You can't let her continue with this. She could need anger management or something. But by the time you go to school and people see the bruises things will just get worse. You could end up with a teacher trying to talk to you or calling guidance or something because of them. You NEED to get out of the house. The living conditions aren't good, and you NEED out!!!! Try child protective services and see if you can move in with your dad (if you're willing... though it's much better than your mom) Or if you're 16+ you can see if you qualify to get emancipated.

Put yourself in my position, say you like a girl. But, you have heard they like someone else. You can do one of two things, either keep quiet and stay quiet. Or you can play the risk card and ask her out(You dont give a F if it makes you lok like a total loser) What would you do? In my opinion this girl is absolutly BEAUTIFUL. A lot of people think one of my friends like's this one guy, but reallys he likes the other guy. So the guy that she really likes is avioding her b/c he did like her, but something about the rumor that she likes someone else gets to him.

The only thing you can do is trust your boyfriend. Remember that he's with you, NOT her. That must mean something. If she's a true slut she could get any guy she wanted, and she might like your guy, but obviously he wants you.
He said he wouldn't go for her, and if you truly care you'll trust him.
For all you know he could be cheating on you with her and be really good at hiding it, heck any guy could be donig that to any girl, but the basis of any relationship whether it be family/family, you/friend, you/teacher, you/boyfriend, is T.R.U.S.T. You can't have a real relationship unless you trust each other, and so you'll just have to trust that he cares for you. Just talk to him if you're really worried, but he might get offended that you would think he'd do that kind of thing and it could end up in a huge fight. This probably isn't what you want to hear, but I'm being realistic. If you're seriously worried, talk to him about it, otherwise just trust that your guy is YOUR guy, and ONLY YOUR guy!!

I am 14 years old and me and my friend were ''playing'' around w/ this guy and after my friend gave him a blow job he fingered me. Well if you want you can take a pregnancy test whenever, but I don't know why you would want to. At 14 you should probably know by now that you can't get pregnant from his finger. There's no sperm in it. Now if you mean he fingered you using his penis (a.k.a. sex) then take a pregnancy test after you skip your period. And just because you're skinny doesn't mean you'll die from pregnancy.

Hey, I'll be wearing a backless, strapless dress for a wedding and I was wondering if anyone knew any bras or "boob holders" to wear underneath the dress? The back goes pretty low so a strapless bra won't work well, and I'm not liking those adhesive boob tape they sell in stores. Where can I find a product that offers support but doesn't show? I've looked into a Victoria's Secret one, but the straps are a bit thick. Here's the link:

Well when I went to my semi-formal dance a lot of the girls there (including me) we're using that natural bra. It's like skin color, and it kinda adds a cup size. They stick on pretty well, like unless you sweat a lot or something (some girl told me she had to retape hers because she got to hot)But the tape stuff they give you sticks really well, and as long as you do it right it works. There's no strap or back, I got mine on sale for like $20 at Goodies, but the original price is anywhere from $30-$40. If you don't have a goodies near you, then do you have the "As seen on TV store"? That store is sweeeet... but yeah, that's about all I can think of.
I can't seem to focus enough to get my school work done, does anyone have any tips on how to focus better?
Well if it's class work, and the teacher is done explaining how to do it, ask if you can sit in the hall or in a corner alone or something. When I'm near people, or when there's lots of stuff around me my mind will wander, but if I'm sitting by myself, out in a hallway, or just in a corner I can focus much better. My math teacher usually lets me do the homework out in the hall as long as I don't talk to anyone walking up or down the hall (because it'll get her, not me, in trouble...)
But that's what helps me. Seeing I'm not a doctor, and I don't know you, and I've never seen how you behave or anything, I could be SO totaly wrong it's not even funny (though why would it be?) But being unable to focus is a symptom of ADD... I mean heck, a lot of people can't focus on what they're doing, and if it was serious then a teacher probably would've said something to you or your parents, so I HIGHLY DOUBT it, but I'm just saying it's a symptom... if you have a bunch of these, then you could even have ADD, I again say I'm not a doctor, I don't know you, and I don't know anything about your behaviours, I'm just saying it's a symtom... even though many teens and adults face the fact that it's hard to concentrate, but here's a list of other symptoms http://www.addtesting.com/ADDSymptoms.htm
Don't want to scare you, and I'm probably wrong about this, but I figure I'd just share what the first thought that came to my mind was. So yeah, you can look at the site, but you don't have to take me seriously unless you TRULY think you have a lot of the symptoms.

I was in Disney like 5 years ago, and I was wondering- what do you think is the best place of interest in that area? Like Epcot, Universal, Disney, or should I make it a point to maybe visit all three?
We've always gone to all of them. Though it depends on your age. Like Epcot is great if you don't want to hit all the rides and if you just want to learn stuff, it's pertty interesting, but for a younger kid, not so much fun. MGM had a lot of cool attractions. I've never been to the Animal Kingdom, Universal was always fun for me, and Disney... well I LOVED Disney, and the Magig Kindom. I think you should definitley go to them all!!!!! Have fun... I'm sooo jealous now. Ha ha.

to any of you who arent very close to your moms, how did you tell her when you started your period and how did she react?
I really don't know how close me and my mom are, but her and my sister always made fun of me because I was a 'late bloomer' so when I started my period, she was watching tv and I just said hey mom... she said WHAT? I said... I'm a woman now, and I walked upstairs. She ended up telling me if I needed 'supplies' then to let her know.
But yeah, that's my story.

But I think you'd be better off with just his tongue in your mouth, or the other way around.
Either of your tongues can be in either spot. You'll know when it happens. It comes naturally, it did for me at least.

Teen christianity is becoming an enormous problem. In hordes normal children are being brainwashed into believing their elders that the world will end within their lifetimes.
As a result kids aren't just kids anymore. Everything that used to be "fun" is suddenly a "sin." We're busy thinking about heaven and our church before we hardly even had a chance to see the world, and we're waiting for the "world to end."
What a crock of sh**. I personally don't even want to go with Jesus if there is an apocolypse. I never was attracted to Christianity. Your parents shove it down your throats before you even have a chance to thin for yourselves. It's a religion created by old men, for old men, and against personal gain or women in general. Well, being an AMBITIOUS woman and a FEMINIST I want nothing to do with this faith. I know I'll be getting some violent attacks from all of you brainwashed little turds about how right you are and wrong I am, and I'll sit here and sigh and understand because you're in a box that you didn't necessarily put yourself in.

What makes me believe? Probably the fact that I was brought up to believe it. Also it's the only answer I can get to the question "how did everything get here" Yes, science could be an answer, but how did the first human get here on this planet if it weren't for God? How did earth and the universe form if it wasn't for God? I mean I've always wondered where god was, did he just appear one day and create all this stuff, and if that is what happened then how did he just magically appear? Or more so, WHERE? I figure the world must have been just white, like a canvas before a painting (that almost sounds deep... weird) and God made a beautiful masterpiece. Then he made Adam, his roughdraft, then he made Eve, his final masterpiece, and then he made the snake, and the apple she ate which made her like smart and stuff. And then Pandoras box which when she opened let loose all the evils and stuff like that.
The main reaason I believe is it's a good way to answer questions I have. And I was brought up believing. I've gone to church since I was like 1, and everyone around me, family, neighbors, and some friends believe in something, so it's just natural to believe. I'm not going to 'attack' you because I have friends that are athiest and stuff, and I see where they're coming from, because it's a hard concept to grasp, and I understand when they say they don't believe. Besides, everyone has their own opinions, and you shouldn't be attacked for having a different one.

Do you know what chatspeak is. If you say lyk, omg, lol, jk, jw, bc, @, u, ur, 2, wit, nuttin, r, wut, and stuff like that repeatedly then it'll say that, and it's telling you to type like you would if you were writing a school report. It doesn't have to be perfect grammer, but for those of us who would rather be able to easily read something, then it should be somewhat nice typing. But if you're just typing like...

summer is coming up and i am going to be swimming ALOT. i got my period at the very end of last summer so i didnt have to worry about swimming. but now that this summer is getting closer i am considering tampons so i can swim whenever i want. my questions are what brand of tampons are best and should i start now so i will be more confortable or will it matter?

Well I don't wear them, but I know a lot of people use tampax, also like the only commercials I ever see are for tampax and tampax pearl (have you seen the commercials?)

ok my friend called me up and told me theres this party like right up the road from me!! it starts at like 8..but im not going to ask my mom if i can go..cuz how would i word it? if you have a good idea on how to word it ..thats an automatic 5 for you guys. The money it'll cost for being fined when the police find out, the money it'll cost you for repairs to the house, the money of the fine you'll get in court, the trouble you'll be in with your parents. I'm sure you have a brain, so use it.
Now if you meant something else by breaking it, please explain, but otherwise it's a stupid idea. Most likely someone around that house is going to call the cops saying a loud party is going on and the cops will break it up anyway. At least if that's what happens make sure the party you're having is legal. No drugs, no alcohol, and make sure you haven't broken into the house.
Every teen has done something their parents don't approve. I know a kid who was caught with pot, grounded 6months, and his parents give him like a blood test, or a urine test or something to see if he's smoked. I know a party that ended with 4 cops 2 paramedics, it was a party at a friend of a friends house, not a cool way to end the party. If you're sneaking out to go to a party, at least follow the law. Use your head, don't you have some kind of conscience¿¿¿???

This is a VERY long story so bear with me.
My father got re-married about three years ago. The woman he married, Karen, was perfectly nice until their wedding day, when she did a total Jekyll and Hyde (sp?) and went totally psycho. She started taking my stuff, hiding it or ripping it up, but never admitting that it was her. For a couple of years now my father's side of the family accused me of making it all up. However, about a year ago now, Karen sent a completely bitchy email, the details of which I won't bother going in to, which meant I stopped seeing her and my father's side of the family. Since then she has sent many more nasty texts and emails accusing me of all sorts and threatening to take the child benefit away from my mother, etc etc etc (I am aware that she couldn't legally do this).
Recently, her 'psycho stuff' has become a lot worse. She started sending odd letters - the address on the envelope disguised as a child's writing and saying on the back of the envelope, 'from Ryan' (Ryan is my younger cousin). Inside would be photographs of me, often cut up so I am the only one in the picture, and stuck onto a background of coloured card or paper. We knew she must be sending these because she is the only one, other than my father, with the access to these particular photographs (me on holiday with my father and Karen).
So, my (paternal) Nan confronted her and Karen has admitted that she sent the letters. She says it is because my father goes to work away a lot and she gets 'bored'. I personally feel that that doens't even qualify as an excuse to do what she has done - for weeks we had been terrified of who these letters were from, and I'm still scared to go out of the house (even into my backgarden) on my own incase she is lurking around.
Karen has since written a letter of apology to my mother's parents. WHY she sent it to them, I have no idea. My grandad doesn't want to take any further action, but there is no way that I am just sitting here and taking 'I was bored' as an excuse for putting my family through all the crap she has over the years (I have only mentioned a small amount of what she has done here). But what can I do?
She begged my grandad to NOT tell me and my mother that it was her who had sent the letters, but of course we know because WE figured it out in the first place. So, I think that if I do do anything, she will think my grandad has told me she did it, or my mother has put me up to doing whatever I would do. That means she might well hurt my grandad or my mother (I wouldn't put it past her - please no-one reply saying 'she wouldn't do that' because you don't know this woman. I do).
My mother thinks that I deserve an apology, not only from Karen but from all of my father's family for not believing me in the first place, but to me, 'sorry' just wouldn't cut it. 'Sorry' isn't a big enough word to make everything she has done go away. But what can I do? I know I could go to the police but my grandad doesn't think I should take any further action and I don't want to hurt or disappoint him. But on the other hand, there is NO WAY I am taking 'I am bored' as her reason.
There is also the problem that she doesn't know that me and my mother know she is the one who sent the letters. My father also doesn't know a THING about the letters yet, and although I don't get on with him, I want him to know - I'd want to know if my wife was doing something like that.
So, in summary, my question is: What can I do? Because there is no way I will do nothing. And how do I let Karen know that I know what she did? What else could I 'get out' of her other than an apology, something I don't want as I know it would mean nothing (she's already apologised to my grandparents, as I said, but that was only to stop them telling my father).
Sorry this was so long, and thanks in advance for any help. I'm fifteen, female, and don't see any of my father's family other than my Nan, if that helps.

Wow, that was really long, but I'm glad I read it. This is a super difficult position you're in, and I would want more than just an apology too. You NEED to somehow notify your father whether it be in person, through e-mail, over the phone, anyway you can and let him know about her. Just be like "Dad, I love you, but I can't help but feel the total opposite about Karen. I think she needs psychiatric help. She's been doing all sorts of things to our family which do not qualify under the categeory of legal. I don't want to have to go to the police, but if you can't get her the help she needs then I have no other options. She's been scaring me a lot lately, and I'm paranoid to even go into my backyard in fear that she will be there up to some other crazy thing. She doesn't know that I know it's her, so I'd rather you not say that I spoke with you (or wrote to you. And please, if you do say something and she feels the need to apologize, make sure she doesn't waste her breath. I can not accept an apology from someone who has scared me to this point. I wish I could keep things civil with her, but seeing the way that she, as a grown woman, is acting I think civil behavior just isn't possible. I'm sorry, but if she doesn't back off and get the help she needs then I WILL take further action, as in calling the POLICE." Then explain to him what she has been doing. And if she doesn't back off then you DEFINITLEY should go to the police. Have you saved any of these letters/pictures? If so bring them with you as evidence. This lady has some type of mental problem and needs help. If she's willing to get that help, work at it, become better, and then apologize to you, then you will know she is truly sorry. I'm sure (though not positive) you'd rather that than seeing her in prison for some type of mental problem, but I think somehow the police should still be involved. Like you can tell them and get a restraining order against her but tell them you don't want to press charges as long as she gets help.
I'm sorry about your situation and I hope everything works out.
*I'm just telling you what I would do. I know I say she has something mentally wrong with her, but I'm no doctor so I can't be 100% sure on that. This is the best advice I can give, so do what you want to do, this is just my opinion.*

That doesn't sound like such a good idea, where I am you could get suspended or after school or saturday school for that. But here's an idea that hasn't failed once.
Are you in school? I'm asking because I'm on my spring break right now.
If so, get some cooked oatmeal, some OJ, and maybe some cinnamon, mix it together and heat it for about 30 seconds in the microwave (make sure it doesn't get to hot because you don't want to burn yourself) Put about a spoonful in your mouth, and a little into a bucket or bag (make sure it's mixed together REALLY well) and then have a little on your chin. Go to your parent/gaurdian and tell them you're sick, then make a noise as if you're throwing up and let the stuff you put in your mouth go into the bucket/bag with the rest of the fake barf... and you my friend will get to stay home from school.
Other things you can do are go to school with your leg in a cast or with crutches and see how many people ask whats wrong, and make up some story and when they're like OH MY GOSH say April Fools ha ha ha.
You can do the whoopicushion gag.
You can set everyone's alarm clock for 6a.m, but change all the clocks and watches in the house so really everyone wakes up at 5 am or something like that.

I am going to a school dance on thursday (tomorrow). I don't know what to wear, however. It's a pretty casual thing. I also have no clue how to dance...some one please help! i rate high.
Jeans or like tan pants, and a hollister type or american eagle type shirt.
Wear cologne if you have it, but don't use too much.
And nobody knows how to dance, just move to the beat of the music. Seeing that your dance is today I can't really help you. Sorry that I'm a little late. Have fun at your dance :-)
