ThursdayCasey answered Tuesday April 5 2005, 2:22 am: I am not a girl, but I can answer your questions because I have "been with" many girls if you know what I mean :) Ok so here we go. There are several different types of tampons out there. Most of the girls that I have been with all use playtex or kotex tampons. They say that tampax is the most uncomfortable. Try to find a "light and easy" tampon with a plastic applicator as opposed to a "heavy" tampon with a cardboard applicator. My recommendation is that you start trying them now. If inserted properly, you shouldn't feel anything. Don't forget to change it though. If you forget it inside yourself, you could get "toxic shock syndrome" which is a bacterial infection. Follow the directions properly instead of listening to friends tell you how to use them because you'd be surprised at how many girls don't know how to actually use tampons. One of my gf's say that if you have trouble getting it inside, then just use a waterbased lubricant to help ease the tampon inside yourself. Give it a couple of shots and don't ever feel embarassed to explore your body. Good Luck!! [ ThursdayCasey's advice column | Ask ThursdayCasey A Question ]
orphans answered Monday April 4 2005, 2:13 pm: Tampax are probably the best brand. Getting used to using a tampon may take a while depending on you and your body, it's probably best to try them out for a while before you start swimming so that you can swim easily and relax more. Totally up to yourself though. [ orphans's advice column | Ask orphans A Question ]

some_girl answered Saturday April 2 2005, 11:13 pm: tampax definately. Start with the lowest flow, and now. Then after a few periods you'll figure out which levels right for you and you'll be all set for swimming! [ some_girl's advice column | Ask some_girl A Question ]

lostinside answered Saturday April 2 2005, 4:28 pm: Well, different people prefer different tampons. I don't use them. But I've heard tampax pearl are really comfortable. Try out a few different brands until you find the one YOU like best. I would start wearing them now. They take a little while to get used to, and to insert them properly. Just remember to use the proper absorbancy to prevent risks of TSS.

Teza answered Saturday April 2 2005, 3:02 pm: To me the most comftrable is Tampex and Tampex Pearl. You should start now so you do get more comftrable and used to wearing them. x0 [ Teza's advice column | Ask Teza A Question ]
S_C answered Saturday April 2 2005, 2:59 pm: Well I don't wear them, but I know a lot of people use tampax, also like the only commercials I ever see are for tampax and tampax pearl (have you seen the commercials?)
I would start now so you're used to them. Just makes more sense to me. Periods... aren't they fun? *sarcasm* ha ha. [ S_C's advice column | Ask S_C A Question ]
Karen answered Saturday April 2 2005, 2:52 pm: I definitely suggest that you should use Tampax or Tampax Pearl, which is the same brand, just a different type of tampon. You should probably start now or when ever you are ready but it takes a few periods or less for you to get used to tampons and to be more comfortable and it doesn't really matter when you start using them.
