My friend has manic depression and I was wondering if any one like knew anything about it or like has it and can talk to me about it because i would like to learn more .
Shelby's answer was a really good one, but I just wanted to add to it. Bi-polar disorder or manic-depression is hereditary, this means that there's a good possibility that someone in his/her family has it also. As long as the individual is educated about the disorder and maintains their regiment prescribed by their doctor they can lead a normal life.

Well, the KC metro area...
I go to the movies often enough,
Not much of a drinker or Dancer - don't really like smokey rooms so Clubbing and bars aren't usually my thing.
Anyone have any good suggestions as to how to kill time with friends or with a date here in the Kansas City / Overland Park area?
I'm not familiar with the area, but since it's a metro area I'm sure there's bound to be something that grabs your interest. Coffee shops/houses are a good way to getogether with friends, I know in the St. Louis area they have many of them that have bands in and/or offer open mike nights. If that's too smokey for you, you might want to try a Barnes and Noble in your area, lots of them are big enough that they have a coffee shop inside and there's no smoking. They sometimes offer open mike for stories and poetry as well.
There also learning about the culture of your city: Museums, Art Galleries, etc. Or if that isn't your thing, catch a car show, or any other kind of conventions that catch your fancy.
Or instead of going to a movie you could try going out with friends to a nice sit down place and eat and chat the night away.
Hope this helps and Good Luck!

Well I have this friend and everytime I talk she just says shut up or no one cares or something mean but sometimes she says she is joking after she says it but most of the time she doesn't.I don't really have the courage to go and tell her how I feel because she is not the kind of person that would actually care.Or she would just tell me something mean..What should I do?Sorry if it is long!
I personally think you should go out and find yourself a new friend. That's down right mean, rude, crude and ignorant to do to someone you consider a friend. And if you are too frightened to tell her how you feel, which you shouldn't have to do, just don't. Go looking for new friends. I'm sure she'll figure it out and approach you as to why you aren't talking to her anymore.

if someone reports another person, will the person being reported know the username of the person reporting them? sorry if confusing!
Only the person reporting the abuse and the lvl 2 and lvl 3 moderators can see the report. No one has access to reports that you file.

You are correct in assuming that it's because you've been unactive for a week. Update your column and then visit the moderator FAQ to make yourself a moderator again.

Will a yeast infection go away on its own or what can you do to get rid of it?
No, it won't go away on it's own.
Things not to do when you have a yeast infection: take antibiotics, eat lots of sugary things, wear thongs, use anti-bacterial soap, have penetrative sex.
Things you can do to help get rid of a yeast infection: over-the-counter treatments like monistat, eating sugarless plain yogurt, when washing your delicates use a little bleach in the wash, clean with a mild soap.
Your best bet would be to visit your health care professional. Most often, women incorrectly think they have a yeast infection when, in fact, it is bacterial vaginosis. Your doctor can prescribe medication that will help you.
Good Luck

Hi, right off the bat if you know nothing about the looks of classic cars from the early 70's and back dont even respond, if your going to respond just to say a color and dont know what a valiant looks like, go to google and type in 1968 valaint and look for one you lazy bum, but onto the question. Does anyone know of any good colors to paint a 1968 Valiant100 4 door sedan. i do ont want two tone, nor do i want metallica, also i do not want strips just one straight color that you think looks good on a valiant, you can also look at my profile picture and you will see my car.
I used to own a 71 Duster, and even though it was covered in primer, I never got the chance to paint it the midnight metallic that I wanted. But since you have a boxier version of the valiant series I think it's a good idea to keep it simple. My color suggestions would be white or a nonmetallic gold since both look good with lots of chrome. ***Edit: I am partial to midnight though!
Good Luck.

So, awhile back I was doing a project for health class where I needed to find the price of baby strollers and I went to google to look them up. One of the first links I clicked on was ebay, but I immediately clicked out of it because we weren't allowed to buy used items. Since then, words on Spacefem and Livejournal have been underlined, and upon clicking them I get sent to an ebay site for that particular item. (Ex: my friend got "New Shoes" and they were underlined in her livejournal, when I clicked on it, there was a section for shoes.) I'm also experiencing random popups that have to do wtih the site I'm browsing, but I have a popup-blocker, so this shouldn't happen, and they're on sites I've never had popups on before said popup-blocker was installed. Most of these sites lead back to ebay. So..has anyone experienced this before, and if so, how did you get rid of it? I think it's making my connection slower as well, so though I can live with it, I'd like to get it fixed.
Sounds like you have adware. I would suggest downloading Ad-aware or Spybot Search & Destroy. Both are free to use and are safe to download. Once you download one of them, run the program. It will scan your system like a virus scanner and tells you what malware, spyware, adware yolu have on your machine and then gives you the chance to delete the bad stuff.
Good luck.

I got cut from the chat room cuz I don't like being 14 and so I said I was 12 and a guy named Draak cut me from the server what do I do about this crap?
First off, I'm female. Not male.
Secondly, you lied about your age, you were rude, and you were using this site's channel for you personal conversations. All of the above is frowned upon by the moderators of the chat.
And there's nothing that you can do until a channel operator/moderator unbans you.

Umm, I saw a question about teeth clenching, and some people answered saying something about TMJ, well what is that? I feel dumb, but I've never heard of it.
From www.drshankland.com:
"The term TMJ is an abbreviation for Temporo-Mandibular Joint, or the jaw joint. In fact, there are really two TMJs, one in front of each ear. The TMJ is the joint formed by the temporal bone of the skull (Temporo) with the lower jaw or mandible (hence, mandibular). These joints move each time we chew, talk or even swallow. The TMJ is actually a sliding joint and not a ball-and-socket like the shoulder. This sliding allows for pressures placed on the joint to be distributed throughout the joint and not just in one area. The TMJ is the most complex joint in the human body. Placed between these two bones is a disc, just like the one between your back bones. This disc is primarily made of cartilage and in the TMJ acts like a third bone. The disc, being attached to a muscle, actually moves with certain movements of the TMJ.
The nerve to the TMJ is a branch of the trigeminal nerve and therefore, an injury to the TMJ may be confused with neuralgia of the trigeminal nerve. The two bones of the TMJ are held together by a series of ligaments, any of which can be damaged, just like any other joint. A damaged TMJ ligament usually results in a dislocation of the disc, the lower jaw, or both. Also, the bones are connected by two main muscles: the temporalis, the masseter, and a muscle just discovered by Dr. Shankland, the zygomandibular. Any or all of these muscles may be painful and produce pain in the TMJ or at the very least, abnormal movement of the lower jaw."

Okay I have a question about deleting cookies on your computer. I was wondering what exactly does it do when you delete cookies. I delete my history all the time, but what does it mean to delete your cookies? I saw a question where the answer was to delelte cookies, so it just made me curious. I know how to delete cookies, I never have because I never knew what it did. So what exactly is 'deleting cookies'?
From www.netplusmarketing.com:
"A cookie is a text file placed on your hard drive by some Web pages that you visit. The cookie allows the Webmaster to track your visits to their Website as well as correlate that information with other information such as the previous page you visited, your operating system, your browser plus any information that you volunteer via a form. When you return to that Website the site will retrieve your cookie file from your hard drive and use whatever information is stored to target content and advertising to both your stated preferences (where asked) and the behavior that you exhibited. It is this technology that allows you to store items in an electronic shopping basket and "remember" other useful pieces of information such as passwords."
When you delete those cookies/bits of information it frees up disk space and lessens the chance of hackers stealing vital information. Just like your history it should be deleted at least once a week.

im 14/f...and the hair that i have above my upper lip has gotten really dark and noticeable...its embarassing...my mom says not to shave it, im scared to get it waxed, it hurts when you pluck it, and well is there anything else?!
Depilatories are a hair removal cream that you apply and wipe off after five to ten minutes. It's lasts for two to three weeks and the hairs does not grow back darker as would happen with shaving or plucking. It's painless, easy, and error free.

Ok, i just got a motorola IM free and it has a base unit that plugs into a USB port on the computer. Problem is that my computer doesnt recognize that i have USB ports. I think my dad may have gotten it to notice the ports but it says they need to be configured. What does this mean and how do i do it?
You need to check and see if the drivers for your USB controllers are correct. You need to do this by going to your System Configuration which is located in the Control Panel. Once you're there, click the Hardware Tab, and then click device manager. Scroll down to Universal Serial Bus Controllers and make aure all of them are enabled and have the correct drivers.

im so sick of all these people giving immature reatarded advice to people....do these people not have a life?isnt there a way they can be banned from the site because they are real annoying
If you feel that an abusive user needs a moderator to look at their account, fill out an abuse report. You can find out how to do that by reading the FAQ: http://www.advicenators.com/faq.php?f=51
It's not usually in the site poilcy to ban users for bad advice, unless the offending user is being offensive and/or vulgar.
And please, the next time you have site related issues, please try not to add personal comments to your questions. It's a banning offense.

okay idk how i did it..but i managed to take the volume icon away from my taskbar icons. how do i put it back?
Right click on your taskbar, click properties in the menu, click "Customize..." in the lower right-hand corner. I should show you current items in the task bar and past items that were in the taskbar. Just select the volume icon and choose "always show" from the drop-down menu. Unfortunately, I have no clue as to what to do if that volume icon isn't listed. Hopefully someone will have more help for you and/or my suggestion works.
Good Luck!

My boyfriend and I have been going out for 3 years... and in this 3 years I have always bought the birth control pills and condoms (i know about prescription plans but i couldnt get one until like now) I have always tried to get him to buy or help pay for it but he never does, or always forgets just recently i told him he was going to pay for the next batch of birth control pills i was buying and he got all mad, and said i should pay for it? Is that fair? I think since it is for both of us we both should pay and seeing how i have paid PLENTY of money that he should put in some money? What should I do to help him understand?
No it isn't fair. But you have to keep paying for it if you are intimate and not planning on children anytime soon. It's either that, talk to him about it and explain to him if he doesn't want a child he needs to help keep it the way things are by forking out a few bucks or abstain from being intimate (not to punish him but to make him realize you're not willing to risk getting pregnant and cannot afford pills or condoms). You also might want to bring up that helping you pay for it relieves the cost of having a child. Afterall, contreceptives are a lot cheaper than having and raising a child.
I know it's been three years for you, but if this is a trend with him (not sharing the cost of things) then you might want to consider ending the relationship. If he's like this now, he might never change. And lord knows you don't want to be the only one bringing in the money in the future,
Good luck and all the best.

how do u delete your history of ur computer? like the websites uve gone to ? pleasetell me
I'm going to assume you are using Internet Explorer since you didn't let us know what browser you are using.
Open up Internet Explorer, click Internet Options, click the General tab if it isn't already selected. There you can delete your cookies, temporary internet files and history by clicking the apporpriate buttons. When finished click "OK" to go back to normal browsing.
Please make sure this is what you want to do before you do it, there's no getting that information back or restoring the history once it's deleted.
