Hello! I am studying esthetics at an Aveda Institute after spending years in retail. I am proof that nothing turns out how you think it will, and that's a good thing. When you think you've got it figured out, you don't. Life would be boring otherwise, right?

my mom gave me the option of not entering high school. i really want to do that because i dont think high school is for me. i dont want a GED either.

what do i tell my friends? what will i do until im old enough to do anything (work)?

You can't get any job without a GED or high school diploma, it's hard enough without a college diploma. Please at least try one year...high school is not as bad as it sounds. Chances are you will be able to find people who will the same way as you do. Spend a year there, do your homework, join a sport/club, go to dances, and see if you like it. If you don't, consider online correspondence courses or indepedent study.
Do you really want to not see your friends again? Chances are you won't...they'll be busy with schoolwork and doing activities with other high schoolers.
By quitting school you basically resign yourself to being broke and homeless. Oh, and it's kind of illegal.

I found out that quite a few classmates of mine have tried marijuana or weed. This really shocked me because I didn't think highschoolers did that sort of thing, or that drugs were even available. They told me that the drugs really aren't that bad, that they're actually safer than cigarettes, and that they aren't addictive. Are they right? How many highschoolers do drugs usually? Am I naive to have believed that?

At my school, about 80% of students smoke pot.
Maybe 25% do serious drugs.
75% drink.
And 50% are virgins.
(They had an anonymous survey at my school but some people didn't answer honestly so keep that in mind.)
So it's more common than you think. I live in a medium sized, fairly wealthy community.

Pot is less addicting and has less risks than cigarettes, but really what isn't? The problem is that after they do it, people are lazy as hell, act stupid, and just want to sit around smoking all day.

So it's not good for them, but don't make a huge deal out of it. Just tell them never to smoke around you and it should be fine.

I'm 21/f married to a 23/m. We've been married for two and a half years and we have a five month old baby girl. We've known each other since I was sixteen. Lately we've really been having our ups and downs.

We're moving two hours away from where we live now, because of the job he got. He already moved to where we're going to be living, so he can start the job and not have to drive two hours there and two hours back each day, while I stay here and sell the house. He's living in an apartment until we sell the house and our baby and myself move there.

The problem is, I don't know how to deal with it anymore. See he's a policeman, and it's something he really loves doing. I've told him I don't want him to do it but I don't want to crush his dream of being what he wants to be just because I'll worry about him. Anyways we talk alot on the phone and he comes home almost every weekend if he has it off. But some days we don't get to talk because he's so busy with work and I'm working and taking care of the baby when I get home. I miss him so much at night I could cry and cry until I don't have tears left but I force myself not to sometimes for my baby girl. I feel alone alot and sometimes I question if he really loves me or not. Then I beat myself up over it all for thinking that when I know he does.

I just don't know what to do anymore. I don't know how long it'll have to be like this but I don't know how long I can take it. Any advice would be apreciated alot. Thanks

If it is at all possible, move into the apartment with him. I really can't think of any good reason for you to stay in the house until it's sold because that could take a very long time. It's normal to wonder if he really loves you, but if you're near him, all doubts will disappear.

Is there any other advice sites like advicenators, where you can get free advice? I'm just wondering, I love advicenators though.

The only other one I know of is answers.yahoo.com, but I personally hate it. People will answer you with "i don't know" because you get points for answering questions, so it turns into an total point competition. They don't filter questions, so the actual advice-needers are about 1/10 of the site and the rest are "what should i wear?" "what do you think" "do you like this song" "what are the lyrics" etc. Try googling for Give free advice.

Yes, it's bad for them, and it will leave yellow patches in the middle of your teeth where the braces were. Wait until you get them off.

I just got my braces off and i have a retainer now. My orthodontist told me to wear it all the time except when im eating or brushing my teeth but i was just wondering, if i go like 4 hours without wearing it everyday, will my teeth actually shift? how many of you (with experience with retainers of course)actually wore ur retainer ALL the time?

I've seen people who didn't wear it a lot, and their teeth went all the way back. I wear mine as much as possible. I'd recommend not wearing it at: language/drama classes, any social situation (party, date, etc), PE. But if you only wear it at night, by the middle of the day, your teeth will look crooked- my friends have noticed. Don't wear it for eating, just bring mouthwash to use after lunch then put it back in.

i start high school in 2 days! im nervous but excited. any advice about the first day, or high school in general? also, i was thinking of just carrying around a binder with a folder, paper and pens/pencils in it for the first day and seeing what i need after that. is that a good idea? also i dont really play any sports anymore although i wish i stuck with some, but what kind of clubs might there be that i could join as a freshman?

The binder sounds like a good idea because a couple of times I've bought all my supplies ahead of time and it's not what my teachers wanted. At my school there are about 30 clubs so I'm sure you'll be able to find something- FISH club (if you're Christian, I'm not but I've heard people say it's fun), Drama Club, French/Spanish Club, Book Club, etc. Just give everything a chance and have fun!

14/f well my friend just told me she is allergic to condoms(like the rubber or something) and i'm worried about her because she is in a relationship with this guy for a while and if they have sex or oral sex shes not protected. shes worried also but she doesn't know what to do. i want to help her but i dont know how.

Alright, now I get sleep and everything, but whenever I am in school and stuff, I still continue to be tired. Haha, it being boring doesn't help too much either. Anyways. I was thinking about purchasing an energy drink to drink in the morning to help me stay a little more awake, and I keep hearing of this energy drink, MONSTER. I hear it's great, it taste good, etc.

But: I am a picky person. I don't like alot of flavors and tastes.

So.

To anybody whose ever drank it, what does it taste like? I tried an energy drink once, it tasted like pineapple, and I spit it out, haha. I'm not repeating that again.

But, to anybody else, even if you haven't drank MONSTER, any other energy drink suggestions and what do they taste like?

Vault isn't actually an energy drink.

A lot of people drink Red Bull, but I like MDX- Mountain Dew Extreme. It comes in a smaller bottle and costs a little more, but it tastes good, lemon-lime, and works pretty quickly.

What are tried and true methods to help a 5 year old stop crying every morning when he gets dropped off at school?

You are going to think I'm incredibly stupid, but I've taught preschool, and this works: Just let him cry. It's not mean, it'll help him get over it. Also try giving him something to look forward to- a special treat in his lunch or a note. Give him a hug and a kiss before he leaves the car, remind him that it's a very short time and that you will be back at the end of the day, that you always have and will. Other than that, there's not a lot you can do.

Is it possible to put songs from my ipod onto my computer? Recently my computer got many viruses and Windows (XP) has to be reinstalled so I lost almost all of the music on my computer. Now on iTunes it says names of songs, with an exclamation point beside it, meaning that iTunes cannot find the songs on my computer. Do I have any other options?

Try opening up your ipod's music folder and dragging the songs into your My Music (it's in My Documents) folder, there should be a folder in there that says Itunes.

i got my eyebrows waxed today and there is red part on one of them, maybe because it was pulled too hard but its not like bleeding on the outside or anything its just red underneath and im afraid it will turn in to a scab because it happend before is there anything i can do to calm it down or make it less red to not form a scab

Put Visine or other eye-whitening drops on a q-tip and freeze it overnight. Put it on the red part and it should help.
If you don't have eye-whitening drops just put an ice cube wrapped in a paper towel on the red spot.
It should go away soon,though.
