okay so i live in a apartment and i only live with my dad. well i want to start baby-sitting i made fliers and printed them out and i was going to put them in the mail room, but my dad is really i mean really overprotected and he said i couldnt do it. i really need the money too. so wat should i do?

yeah it's not safe to post fliers... i took a class for babysitting & it's not safe. if you attend church, you can post one there or tell people there with little kids that if they ever need a sitter to call you. you could do things around the house and see if he'll give you money for that. try babysitting for relatives too.

okay i'm about to turn 13 and i havnt had my period yet. i live with my dad so its really hard to bring up that subject, and i cant shave my legs because, again, its hard to bring up the subject. what should i do? i cant go to anyone else either.

I didn't have my period until i was almost 15 so don't worry about it. as for your legs, it's not a huge deal. (i was 13 once, i know how it is) just go to walmart one day and ask to get a razor (i recommend venus). it's almost like second nature... my mom isn't the type to sit down and teach me these things so its something you should be able to teach yourself. just shave against the direction your hair grows & you'll be fine. your dad is all you got... he's probably as worried about you growing up as you are... probably just as 'embarrasses' too, since he's not a woman. just go with the flow and try to be ok with it. he wont make fun of you for it.. you're his little girl. ask friends & friend's moms if you are still unsure how to do things.

I'm 13/f and I live in Texas. My mom is starting to make me use my own money to buy clothes and cosmetics. The problem is, I have no way to make enough money. My mom says I could do work around the house, but she pays me SO little! Say, $1 to do the dishes and 50 cents to water the plants outside. I used to get an allowence but ever since my parents divorce, money is tight (my dad actually makes a lot of money but he's kind of selfish and will no longer give my mom the money to give me an allowence) so I don't get it anymore. I have tried babysitting by passing oout flyers, but no one even called me; my mom says I'm too young. What should I do??? I REALLY need to find a way to earn some money...the only way I get it now is when my grandparents give me an extra $5 bill sometimes when I visit(AFTER my mom tries to persuade them not to!)HELP!!!

Personally, I would start using her makeup. that's right, she'll get sick of it and eventually get you your own. do you have money saved up tho? maybe that's why she's making you pay for it. as for clothes, next time you spend time with your dad, tell him your situation. a lot of girls i know with divorced parents go to the other. if you nothing else works, wear clothes that you already have that still fit. do the dishes 2 times a day everyday for the next month and make $60. that can get you 2 outfits if you shop around real good. after school starts, prices will drop. you don't need tons of money to dress well. i know it seems like it but i know girls who buy $15 outfits and look great. you dont need to get all your clothes in one trip either. its just about mangaing your money. as for makeup.. you don't need much. you are 13. get $3 eyeshadow compact with a few colors and maybe a 3-7$ lipgloss, $5 mascara and a $1 eyeliner pencil and you're done. so learn to save up, shop sales and use what you have. it's a hard lesson learned but you'll need the experience later on in life.

i think your mom has a few insecurities of her own that she's kinda taking out on you. don't take them seriously... i know a lot of moms that do that. i'm not saying that it's right but you can't change her. that, or she's pissed you are texting a lot? tdont text in front of her constantly... it's just cell phone ettiqet. for the "you're getting fatter" maybe she thinks that instead of buying size 1 skin tight jeans for the year, get a 3 instead so you have some room to grow. most moms say that because they dont want skin tight OR because they want to save some money on clothes and that's normal. like i said, just dont take it seriously.

I'm 5'3 & older than you.... there are TONS of people shorter than me. no one cares. they'll call you shorty and think it's so cute but other than that, 5'1 isn't like you're a 3'0 midget. you can't make yourself taller. no food or excersize will do that. just get comfortable with it. you can wear shoes that make you taller if it really bugs you that much.

does anybody have an excersize plan that could take at LEAST 2 hours a day?

like im looking for 10 excersizes maybe? and time possibly.
(ex. crunches for 5 minutes, lunges for 15, crunches for 10 minutes, lol i dunno)

if you do a 2 hour workout everyday, you'll just get sick of it and give up. may i suggest joining a sport? that's fun and you'll get a workout with motivation. try rec sports if you're not really athletic/competitive. otherwise, i'm sure everyone else can give you a better plan that i can.

i've had my glasses for a while now and some of the black paint has been chipped off so my glasses look kind of beat up. i was wondering if there are any types of paint i can use to 'paint' the parts where the black got chipped off? is there a special kind of paint or can i like just use a black sharpie to color it in or what?

i would try the black sharpie but i'm not sure. it kinda depends on how think the frames are and how hard it would be to paint. another good option is black nail polish.

So there's this guy i like and he is my neighbor. i am 13/f and he is 14/m. i am best friends with his little sister and she says he really likes me and want to ask me out. he TOLD me he liked me after he broke up with my best friend Sarah* and i told him that i liked him too but we could go out bc it might hurt sarahs feelings. its not about the likeing part i KNOW he does, he always flirts and comes over and stuff so thats not a problem. I need an OVERHEAD PROJECTOR to trace something large onto my wall. Is there any place in this world where i can "rent" or "borrow" an overhead besides a school or friend ?cuz my friends nor my parents friends have them. PLEASE i am soooo desperate THANKS to anyone who answers!!!!

you could have your parents buy one and return it when you are done, just be really careful! some big companies (maybe at a parent's job) have them for presentations... you could ask around and i'm sure you could use one.

Is it a bad idea to string Christmas lights under insulation? I want to have a party in my garage and string up lights- only it doesn't have a finished ceiling. Could it be a fire hazard?

if you have like a wood foundation then hang them from there, not directly under the insulation.

here is the thing. me and my friend where really close for an year and we got into these fights and decided to ignore me for 5 months. last week he goes and IM's me and says he was sorry for what he did. and that he'd like to talk again but not turning back to close friends we were.

and the thing is im not sure if i should give him a chance..or forget it. because it feels a tad awkward.

well if you were close friend (not like lovers) then i think you should take him back. he's not asking to be your best friend... he want's to be able to talk again. the akwardness will wear off with time but i think you should at least give it a try.

i know it's hard but if he doesn't want to be with you, you can't make him. it's a hard lesson learned, i was there once. find a better guy... one that wants to be with you and doesnt need you to give them everything so he can think about getting back together with you or not. it's not fair to you. you did dump him you know...if he loves you and it was meant to be, he'll come back. otherwise, you have the rest of your life to find the one.

it's up to you, obviously. i would suggest leaving a landing strip at least. don't get rid of all of it because that's not healthy.

it really depends. i was smaller than that at 13 but by 14 i was that. just don't stick your chest out tons or wear super tight/low cut shirts and you'll be fine. a lot of girls don't even have a chest at that age so if it seems like guys are staring, it's because they've never really seen them, know what i mean. but if it makes you uncomfortable, tell them, smack them, walk away.

i have this guy i been with for 8 months and he broke up with me and i gave him a letter begging him to take me back telling him i love him and i need him and i cant live without him.. and he just read it and ripped it up...and i left crying and he cursed and yelled at me..when i came back i sat by myself and cried for like 2 hours and he was all over my friends hugging them and stuff like that and i got so uppset and he didnt even care..this happend like 20 minutes ago and he isnt calling ...he never calls when we break up...i always call and beg for him back what should i do to make him want me back?

move on. he doesn't want you back. guys don't like getting dumped and it does stuff to their egos when then come crawling back. no guy i know would go back to someone that broke up with them. so really, start moving on. there are better guys out there, i promise.
