okay i'm about to turn 13 and i havnt had my period yet. i live with my dad so its really hard to bring up that subject, and i cant shave my legs because, again, its hard to bring up the subject. what should i do? i cant go to anyone else either.

Well you don't really have to ask your dad to shave your legs, just do it. Thats what I did lol. and about your period, when you do have it, you don't have to have some big discussion about it, just be like hey dad can we go to the store I need some tampons lol. I'm sure he won't make a big deal about it.

You have nothing to be nervous about. Sure, its a guy your talking to but this guy is your FATHER!! It might be awkward, but you'll have to talk about it sooner or later. And trust me, he is probably just as nervous as you if not more.
Shaving your legs when you are 13 years old is pretty much natural, and there isnt anything to be ashamed of.
And don't get nervous about not having your period yet either. I was 13 and 5 months old when I got mine. Some people don't get theirs until 15 or 16.
Enjoy not having it. When you get it you'll dread it. Consider yourself lucky!! :]

I didn't have my period until i was almost 15 so don't worry about it. as for your legs, it's not a huge deal. (i was 13 once, i know how it is) just go to walmart one day and ask to get a razor (i recommend venus). it's almost like second nature... my mom isn't the type to sit down and teach me these things so its something you should be able to teach yourself. just shave against the direction your hair grows & you'll be fine. your dad is all you got... he's probably as worried about you growing up as you are... probably just as 'embarrasses' too, since he's not a woman. just go with the flow and try to be ok with it. he wont make fun of you for it.. you're his little girl. ask friends & friend's moms if you are still unsure how to do things.

Dont worry about it trust me you are lucky you havent gotten your period yet. And as for shaving your legs ill tell you the same thing my mom tells me. Dont try to grow up too fast , enjoy your life while you are still a kid! (:

aww..well just shave your legs no matter what you dont have to ask its your body and plus your getting tothe age where you should be shaving your legs.and he will understand that you are a girl growing up and thast what we do..and just ask your dad for money or ahve a friend go and pick up some pads or tampons for you and then your dad will see them and be like ok looks like i have to start buying that stuff now

Hey. I know how you feel. Im 13 and I live with my dad because my mom passed when i was 9.
This may not be what your looking for but heres a good method on how to shave your legs:
1. Shave in a warm shower or bath, if possible.
2. Wait a few minutes before starting to let the leg hair soften. If you take only showers, wait until the end of the shower to shave.
3. Sit on the ledge in your shower, if possible. If your shower has no place to sit, raise one leg against the wall of the shower and balance carefully.
4. Apply a small amount of shaving cream, rubbing it into a thick lather and spreading it over your leg. Avoid using soap in place of shaving cream, as it will dry out your skin.
[I use soap and it doesnt dry out my skin. But if you do you should use some lotion/moistuizer after shaving just incase]
5. Place the razor at the base of your ankle and pull gently up over your entire leg. If you experience severe razor burn, try shaving in the same direction as the hair growth. You may not get as clean a shave, but you'll avoid raising red bumps.
6. Rinse the blade between every stroke, and be sure to keep the razor wet while you're shaving.
7. Shave the entire leg until you've removed all the shaving cream.
8. Rinse.
9. Repeat for the other leg.
10. Pat dry and moisturize.

You just have to tell him when you start it, it will be hard to sneak it if you do, he'll understand since like you can't control having your period and that every women has it.
Or you could write him a note, or email him about it or shaving your legs.
