Well this school year is my first time in highscool. I have 6 best friends.. and it seems like i'm the prudest. I've always been so over protective and i havnt even kissed a guy yet! I mean I'm not ugly... i dont wanna be snobby but im pretty. All my friends are hooking up with these new kids... and i feel like out of place. haha. I dont know how to explain it. I mean I guess it's because there are no new hot kids in my classes; because when i go to parties and talk to guys there, they always flirt with me and stuff and they ask for my number and stuff. can anybody give me tips to be more flirtaciuos and open minded.. haha. Well, basically.. i just need advice : ( thanks

Well i was the same freshman year... don't do things just to feel in place. it's stupid and they'll all regret it. I waited till the summer before sophomore year for my first kiss. it was definatly worth the wait too, no matter what anyone else says. it was special. i know a lot of people just want to do it and get it over with but really it was a lot better that way so dont find just a random person to hook up with. open minded... just be open to things. dont go calling people sluts for hooking up with people but dont go out and do it yourself basically.

I like this boy, Named Justin. I just recently started a new school & I've known him for lets say 3 weeks. I liked him since the first day of school. He's in most of my classes & we kinda talk we know who eachother is. But see today i found out by myspace that he likes another girl.
I'm crushed, really. I mean I know its only been 3 weeks, but it can still really hurt. I doubt the relationship will last that but, you never know & sometimes your mind tricks you & I may be tricking myself. whoknows.

Oh mannnn... well are you sure he likes someone else? I mean, he's not gonna be in love with you after 3 weeks so give it time.. get to be good friends so even when he does have some temporary gf, you guys can still hang and stuff. i think it's just one of those crushes that you can get over because you knew him 3 weeks anyway.. and if you liked him from the day you met.. it's probably not serious. but if you think it might be, give it time... let him get over the other girl and all that jazz and then go from there. I know it sucks when someone doesn't like you back but you'll get over it or just find someone else. if he seems like someone you'd date, you probably want to keep him as a friend so i do really encourage that. hope that helps a bit.

ok so for our school fall dance we need to dress up because it's a costume dance. The theme this year is Once Upon a Time...so it should be like fairytale and stuff like that. It's a date dance too and our date has to have a matching costume. I just need suggestions for costumes and stuff.

well since it's fall, i would go with the whole Pocahontas and John Smith type thing. You could easily make a native american type thing, watch the movie too and go from there just spice it up a little to look like a formal-ish dress.

I'm a 13 year old girl going into 8th grade, and i am getting a new backpack. I was wondering if an llbean one would be out of style or babyish? If so what other kind do you reccomend, and if not, what color should I get. I was thinking pink but is that kind of childish?

no llbean bookbags aren't babyish and there's nothing wrong with pink. just don't get a rolling one and other than that, anything is fine.

a friend of mine recently quit the smoking habit although he still is a heavy drinker,and the wierd part is that his girl left him because of he quit the smoking habit.So my question is,do girls get turned on by smokers or off?and do girls mind if their guys are drinkers? and finally,what should I say to my friend's girl?cause we all are pretty good friends and I wish I could help mend their relationship.thanks

ok i think that she maybe just wanted to be there for him while he quit to support him and didnt want him to go through a break up during that time. maybe she's a smoker and doesnt want to ruin his quitting by smoking in front of him.

Hi I was at a was at a sleepover and my friends dared me to cut my bangs,and i think they look horrible! my mom and my aunt say they look so cute, that is just because i had them when i was like 7 so can you give me any advice on how to make them look better?If you do....thanks a lot!!

well if you cut them wrong or whatever, you can go get them trimmed and maybe angled so you have sidebangs that look older than the 7year old fringe. a lot of people pin bangs back anyway, it's not a huge deal. you just gotta find a style that works for you.

what does it mean if someone says.. "are you a lightweight or can u hold your own" in alcohol reference?

its talking about how much alcohol you can handle. lightweights are drunk after just a couple drinks and people that can hold their own can drink all night and not really be drunk.

My parents decided to let me get a 70 dollar l.l. bean rolling backpack, because I have so much books that I my back hurts if I get a regular backpack. But before I buy it, I was wondering, is a rolling backpack ok for an 8th grader, or is it like out of style and babyish? Like do alot of people have rolling backpacks? Thanks!

hate to break it to you, but rolling backpacks aren't really in.. most people find then an inconvinience in halls. instead, use your locker or see what teachers don't need you to bring books for will let you keep one in the classroom. you can always carry some too. take out all the extra junk in your bookbag and wear it higher on your shoulders as opposed to lower.

Im going shopping tomorow at american eagle and Hollister. i only have around 100 dollars to spend, and both those stores i kinda expensive...so does ne body have ne tips on how to spend my money good at those 2 stores?

look online for clothes you want before you go so you can budget it. sometimes they both have the same shirt just different prices so check that. see what you really want and make a mental note to get that first and then get whatever looks cute.

So..there was this party that was happening.. my boyfriend invited me but I had to go out of state for a sports related conflict. Anyways, he told me he was going to go without me because it was one of his best friends parties.. so, reguardless, he cheated on me (not only nonstop-make out- but fingered and felt up a girl)- keep in mind he was drunk. it still questions me though- how do you get so drunk you forget about your GIRLFRIEND completely?? Should I stay with him or not? He claims it was because he was so drunk and horny, but he really does love me. TOUCH CALL. Thanks in advance.

oh man.. well i really don't think being drunk is an excuse for that.. i mean yeah you forget things but if he really wanted to he could control himself. you could give him another chance but idk i think he might have just gotten drunk to hanve an excuse.. guess do that. its really up to you..

14/f. i'm going into 9th grade, which at my school is still in middle school. now i have two questions:

1)is it easier to buy 1 large 3" binder for all five of my academic classes, or two colored 1.5" binders (one for my three morning classes and one for my two afternoon classes). i just need a first hand experience here. will two binders get too confusing?

2) i want to decorate the front of my binder(s). i'm going to get the type of binders that have that clear pocket on the front of the binder that you can slide a piece of paper into. i want to cut out things from magazines but i don't know what to cut out things that i won't like half way through the year. i thought of cutting out store names and things but i need more!

any input will help me A LOT!

I use a different one for each subject. i got the kind of binders that are flexible.. theyfit well in bookbags, that's for sure. i think you can get some with a clear pocket but i'm not sure. i just do different colors because pictures distract me a lot. i cut things out and put them on my walls instead, but that's just me.
i only have 4 classes a day for 90 minutes every other day so i'm not completely sure it it's the best option for you. if you have the standard 8 classes, you could try 2 subjects per binder but don't go over 2 inches.. they get annoying. i have a huge binder for exams... around halfway through the semester i clean out clutter and put it away for exams. to some people it sounds ridiculous but i find it helps A LOT.

my pregnant sister is trying to find a unique [maybe exotic] MIDDLE name for her baby girl, so far its between Cache[accent over the e] and chenelle....

the babys name will be Alexis [middle name] Smigelski

this year money is tight {i think} my dad put off school supplies till the last second and he only gave me 20$ i need a new backpack cuz he made me get rid of my old ones but i also need like paper pens nd everything to i dont no waht to do i cant ask for more he will get mad but i cant get my stuff with only 20$ he didnt give me any money for clothes or shoes so now i get to go to school with shoes that are falling apart and jeans to small for me and we jusy moved too so i need to make friends but i will look like a loser with no backpack or new shoes and lod clothes that are praticaly to small i need money but i have no way of etting it there is no one to babysit and i am only 13 and get cant a job and i need a haircut as well like bad so how can i get my neccesities it is too late to get stuff from the salavotion army

this year i got my school stuff for like $15 actually. you dont need most of the stuff on there. like get one pack of paper then later in the year get more (see what i mean?) and use anything that still works from last year. eventually school stuff will go on sale so you can get good prices. you could to go platos closet... bring in some of your old clothes, get some cash, and get some new ones there cheap. if you need anything else, lemme know, i'm used to being on a budget since i pay for everything.

My two best friends just recently started drinking over the summer. I have been away and just found out about this recently. I however, dont want to start drinking they are, I think it is pretty pointless and I dont need alcohol to have a good time. I KNOW that I am able to say no if I am put into a pressuring situation by them, but I am afraid our friendship isnt the same anymore. It seems like they want to move on to bigger and better things, but they truly are my best friends in the world. What do I do? 15/f

I don't think that they're moving on to bigger and better things... they might mess around with it, yeah, but they won't leave you behind if you don't want to, trust me. as long as you don't do it, you'll be fine & as long as you don't say "eww drinking grooss" and tell your mom, they'll still be your friends. I have A LOT of experience with this and i won't just give you the usual "oh now they're gonna die" so feel free to send one to my inbox.

Why are guys so embarassed to admit their virgins in like, highschool?

they see not being a virgin as a "cool" thing and they want to be "cool" so they have trouble admitting it. some guys will admit it better than others tho.

I was really late to catch up on the trend, which is probably like a year old, that's why I begged my mom to let me buy a miniskirt. B4 the whole legings thing my mom would never let me look at a minskirt when were shopping. I ended up buying a mini + leggings and was planning to wear it on the 1st day of school. Is this a good idea or would i end up looking like the fashion disaster i can always be when i try to go for a look diffrnt than the usual [jeans + tee]? What i fear the most is what evry 1 else is gonna say. School starts in 2 wks and i cant make up my mind. The 1st day is one of the only days i get to look especially nice. The outfit i was planning to wear looks nice w/ or w/o, IMO. I have to wear the mini and leggings to school or my mom would deem me as wasting her money. This isnt the 1st time i would look at something and say "Oh,that's cute" and buy it and wear it to school, to then realize its not that cute of a shirt or whatever and never wear it again. Like last year when i bought a bright pink cropped hoodie/sweatshirt... Lets just say that color pink was definetly not my color.
Anyways, what should i do?

so basically a jean skirt & leggins? as long as the colors kinda go together [which i'm pretty sure they do...you can't really go wrong with jeans] i say go for it. i think it's really cute and actually i wore that just the other day when i went out with my friends. if you really can't make up your mind, keep the tags on. if your mom gets a refund, she won't mind, know what i mean? i don't think you can go wrong with that outfit. pick a cute top with it and you are good to go.

What is the big deal with High Musical? I mean when it first came out(it's died out a lot)it was all the girls in my could talk about, it was on the radio all the time, they got singles, albums,and merchendise. I just don't see eye to eye with them...I hated it. I think the songs are repetitive and annoying, they acting is stupid, and above all, the lip sycning is HORRIBLE!!! Does anyone but me see this?
