I'm a 13 year old girl going into 8th grade, and i am getting a new backpack. I was wondering if an llbean one would be out of style or babyish? If so what other kind do you reccomend, and if not, what color should I get. I was thinking pink but is that kind of childish?
crack_is_wack answered Tuesday September 5 2006, 9:41 pm: L.L. Bean is fine for an 8th grader. And pink isn't childish, as long as it isn't gaudy and floral. But I wouldn't recommend getting it monogrammed :)
If you decide not to get L.L. Bean, here are some good brands:
Northface
Under Armor (I had no idea they made backpacks until recently, but they're really nice)
Columbia
Jansport
You can find these online or at most sporting goods stores.

1. LL Bean is really cool. So is Jansport. They are usually one color, but then they never go out of style!!!! Plus, the double pocket ones are roomy and durable.
2. Pink is ah-dorable!
3. If you get a backpack, try to get a color not too bright, not a rolling, and MAKE SURE to get a good brand, if you're planning on keeping it for a while.

LM answered Tuesday September 5 2006, 5:42 pm: LL Bean backpacks NEVER go out of style, are you kidding? =]
I had one for a coupel years in middle school and i LOVED it. Jsut don't get a super-trendy pattern that you know you'll be sick of later on, because these backpacks last for YEARS and never wear out (you'll want to use it)
I got a bright blue Hawaiian print and regretted it. I now have a Mudd messenger bag, which a lot of people have this year (the messenger bag style). I guess that wouldn make it "trendy".
Whenever you get a backpack, though, make sure it's one that YOU like, and will be comfortable for you to carry. Remember, YOU'RE the one lugging that around all year!
LoveNJstyle answered Tuesday September 5 2006, 4:18 pm: no llbean bookbags aren't babyish and there's nothing wrong with pink. just don't get a rolling one and other than that, anything is fine. <3 [ LoveNJstyle's advice column | Ask LoveNJstyle A Question ]
babiigirl answered Tuesday September 5 2006, 4:14 pm: Having a backpack is nto childish and no one should tell you that. If they do they are stupid. I have a llbean backpack and they can get a bit pricey but so is the jansport one.I think pink would be fine im a senior and i have a pink llbean backpack..
thelaura answered Tuesday September 5 2006, 3:22 pm: It's all about personal preference. I don't think pink is babyish at all. If you like that style, go for it. I'd think it would look nice!! :) [ thelaura's advice column | Ask thelaura A Question ]
Nobodys_Girl answered Tuesday September 5 2006, 2:44 pm: 8th grade? Not many people nowadays care for what your backpack looks like. I kept the same Jansport backpack from when I was in the 5thgrade to highschool. Most schools have to keep there backpacks in there locker anyways, So you see at the bus stop, on the bus, & until you get to your locker.
people spend way to much for a backpack nowadays.
Anyways Pink itsn't childish? If you a got a dora backpack than that be childish.
I do reccomend Jansport because they last a long time, thats why there so popular. As i said my lasted me awhile.
