My parents decided to let me get a 70 dollar l.l. bean rolling backpack, because I have so much books that I my back hurts if I get a regular backpack. But before I buy it, I was wondering, is a rolling backpack ok for an 8th grader, or is it like out of style and babyish? Like do alot of people have rolling backpacks? Thanks!
TEENAGExHEARTS answered Tuesday September 5 2006, 7:12 pm: well nobody at my school (middle school) has a rolling backpack. i think they are very elematary school. if i were you i'd get a messanger bag which just slings over your shoulder and shouldn't bother your back as much.

MelLeDisko answered Monday September 4 2006, 9:44 pm: i've never really ever seen a person with a rolling back pack. i've seen like, one kid all my life in the 6th grade, so yeah i'd say they're out of style. they were said to be better to use then those heavy straps and such, and they are, but they usually don't fit in your locker, trip people, get in people's way, and if it's really heavy you might have some trouble rolling it. so hopefully, the book bag also comes with straps so you can just put down the handle and use the straps instead. i hope i helped. Igotamonopoly answered Monday September 4 2006, 8:59 pm: Oh, my. If someone at my school had a rolling backpack, I would shun them. Not only are they out of style, but they make people trip in the hallways. Carrying books is a better bet. Have a good year. [ Igotamonopoly's advice column | Ask Igotamonopoly A Question ]
LoveNJstyle answered Monday September 4 2006, 6:32 pm: hate to break it to you, but rolling backpacks aren't really in.. most people find then an inconvinience in halls. instead, use your locker or see what teachers don't need you to bring books for will let you keep one in the classroom. you can always carry some too. take out all the extra junk in your bookbag and wear it higher on your shoulders as opposed to lower. <3 [ LoveNJstyle's advice column | Ask LoveNJstyle A Question ]

uisforukelele answered Monday September 4 2006, 5:48 pm: this is just my personal opinion, and things might be different at your school. but people hate people with rolling backpacks. our halls are crowded, and people with rolling backpacks always run over everybody else and then get pissed when we step on their backpacks. so i'd just get one of those nice jansport backpacks that has the shoulder supports, or a shoulder bag, or a messenger bag. because if you get a rolling backpack, people are going to hate you. x0xqtpiex0 answered Monday September 4 2006, 4:28 pm: i no a couple of kids in my school with rolling backpacks. and truely, it isnt babyish. you just dont see it anymore because kids like their backpacks to fit in their lockers. all you have to do is leave it in your homeroom class. just make sure that your homeroom class is close to your locker, or you might have a problem at the end of the day. hope i helped [ x0xqtpiex0's advice column | Ask x0xqtpiex0 A Question ]
xomegaroni answered Monday September 4 2006, 3:48 pm: in my school, you can't have rolling backpacks, because they don't fit in your locker. soo i'm not sure if it's babyish or not. who cares if it's babyish as long as it helps your back. i'm sure that a lot of people are in the same situation as you. don't even care about what they think of it. it's juss a backpack. you should check if you do have a locker though. they definately don't fit.
