I have a friend that I feel expects lots out of me yet I get nothing in return. I had invited her over for new years eve to my appartment. She doesnt have hardly any friends and I sort of feel sorry for her.
Well I had invited her to spend the night over before I found out that not only do I have to work on New Years Eve until 6 pm, but I also have to work on New Years Day and my shift starts at 1pm.
Originally I was going to have her sleep over but after I found out I had to work the next day I changed my mind.
The other thing that sort of annoyed me was that after I told her I had to work on New Years Eve until 6, I was hoping she would say she could find her own way over, but she didnt. She doesnt have a car so I have to pick her up right after work. I'm going to be exchausted and had hoped she could get a ride with her mom or a cab.
I told her that she couldnt sleep over and she sounded mad. I then explained to her that I had to work the next day. She doesnt even have a job and would probably sleep in until noon if she wasnt forced out.
I feel bad for telling her she couldnt sleep over but she needs to be more understanding. She also said she couldnt pay for anything. I was thinking of ordering pizza and she said "I can't afford it". She never offers me money for rides or even brings anything like snacks over. I'm putting on the whole show.
I really think I'm going out of my way for her. I'm hosting this get together, after working my tail off have to pick her up AND drive her home, plus pay for everything? I'm sort of feeling used.
Do I have a right to be annoyed? SHould I say something?

You invited her knowing her situation. So why are you feeling so resentful? If you feel like you are being 'used' just don't invite her in the future.

But for now you are the host, stop whining and just be kind. The host should supply food anyway, if your friends pitch in great. But if you friend has no money, why give her a hard time over 5 or 10 dollars?

I think you are making a bigger deal out of things than it has to be. So what if you work until 6. Most New Years parties start in the evening anyway. And why can't she sleep over? You are not working until 1pm, that's late. Have her go home in the morning. What's the big deal?

It sounds to me as you are trying to come up with reasons for her not to come. Like you are going to be "too exhausted" after work to pick her up? Seriously if work is that exhausting, why are you even having a party? Driving an extra 15 minutes to pick up a friend will not make any difference.

So stop whining, and just enjoy your party. Don't let a friend who can't
pitch in $5 for pizza ruin your evening.

Like I said, if you feel like you are being 'used' just don't invite her in the future.

my bf is wonderful. I care for him alot...i don't know about love..but i care for him alot. The thing is, whenever I am with him, like at the movies, or at zoo lights, i love it when we just cuddle. I feel so safe when he has his arms around me and i just sleep on him, or just relax on him. I am not really that much into kissing. His best friend is my guy friend and when i talk to him on the phone, he says that my bf tells him that he likes me alot alot but he wants to kiss me more. So i went to the movies with him yesterday and we saw King Kong. It was like 3 hours. For the first two hours we just cuddled. I couldn't bring myself to kiss him for some reason. I kept on getting texts from my guy friend saying kiss him now, do it now..so i made out with him for like 10 seconds, then i went back to cuddling. is it so wrong to just want to cuddle? i don't understand what is wrong with me, why can't i bring myself to make out with him for a long time?

You are still young and probably are just not ready for that kind of intimacy yet. If it doesn't feel comfortable, then don't do it. It should come to you naturaly if the moment is right. There is no need to make out for the sake of making out. Besides I think it is rude to be making out and text messaging at the theater anyways.

Is it possible for a 14 year old girl to get a job on a cruise line over the summer as a waitress or table busser or clean up or anything like that?

I highly doubt it. Since you are a minor, I doubt they can leagaly take you over seas as an employee. It's not an exchange program where there is someone to watch over you. And because they serve alcohol on most cruise ships, I am guessing you'd have to be at least 21 to be a waitress.

hey i am 17 and my boyfriend is confusing me. last night on msn we were talking and then he was not drunk but tipsy, and he tells me how he fels when he is drinking. well i told him that my friend patrice called me and was wanting me to hang out and he goes well you dont want to do nothing with me on new years? and i said i want to see you so bad and i havent seen patrice in over two years. he thinks i am going to hang with guys. i told him no i wasnt. well he must have been talking to a few other people and wrote me and said srry wrong person. well he writes me again saing i am going to drink with anna away. i might not do it yet. and he was talking to this girl anna on the phone. well i dont care it is just he says you dont need a guy like me and i said why and he goes huh? i said well r u wanting me to break up with you he goes no maybe it is the other way around. i said so you want to break up with me? he goes no i dont and he just kept on well he says you go with patrice and i will go with anna. he was invited to a party but he said if he goes bad habits will happen. so i dont know whats going on i am so confused. i am helpless at the point and i told him to call me when he is sober and i still havent heard from him. i dont know why new years is a bad time fir me. can anyone help me please?

You are the one ditching him on New Years. If I were him I'd be pissed and want to go find a party somewhere else too. I am sure this "Anna" girl is just a tool to make you jelous because he is mad.

Why can't you all just hang out together? That would be the simple solution.

My IPOD is constantly freezing on me. it also makes this noise when i plug it into the charger. and it won't work, as soon as i press play, it automatically freezes, or the apple sign just shows up. or a folder with and !. what should i do?

hello my question is that ive been having my period for well over a month now the first two weeks i rarely bled and now its alot of bleeding especially in the morning or when i go to the bathroom before this my period would come on a basis of every 4 or 5 months and at one point it didnt come for 9 months im 21 years of age and im way to scared to go see a doctor please find out whats wrong with me thank you for your cooperation

This sounds like something you SHOULD see the doctor for. You may be scared, but ignoring the problem will only make the situation worse. At your age your irregularity could be a sign of something more serious. Please go see a doctor, the advice you receive here will not be aany kind of acurate diagnosis.

My Hand is always swollen at night. Like I will wake up in the middle of the night and its numb and heavy. I never hurt it or anything. So Whats up with that?

It could be a sign that you are dehydrated. Suprisingly most people are. My hands swell in the summer if I am doing to much in the heat. Driking plenty of water should help pevent your hands from going numb.

If this is happening everyday and the water doesn't help, you should see your doctor. It could be a symptom of something more serious.

my bf had to move to another province for a job two months ago. I was really mad at him because he hadnt emailed me since he moved. I was even angrier on xmas day because I finally decided to make the first move to email him and he never wrote back!! So I phoned him on his cell (it's very hard to get hold of him normally cause he works in the oil camp) and luckily caught him on his break. He sounded really happy to hear from me and that he wished he could be with me. He also said that his internet wasnt hooked up yet and thats why he hadnt sent me any emails.
Although I'm not angry with him anymore, don't you think he should have phoned me weeks ago to tell me about his internet not being hooked up so I wouldn't worry? And why should I always be the one having to do the phoning.? Is this normal behavior, or is he playing some sort of game with me? Oh ya, I also remember HIM saying "I was wondering why I hadnt heard from YOU."

If it has been months and your boyfriend hasn't called, I wouldn't consider him your boyfriend anymore. I think he's brushing you off. If he actually cared, he would have called weeks ago.

And why did you wait so long to call yourself?
If my boyfriend moved, I'd call to make sure he got to his destination ok. I'd be worried if I hadn't heard from him in a few days!

If you both wanted to make this relationship work, you'd be talking everyday. There is no point holding onto the relationship if you only speak once every few months. It doesn't seem as either of you care deeply for eachother. You can find a better relationship than this.

I don't understand what I DON'T have that guys (in middleschool) would want! They are always going out with girls that are completely outgoing! I'm not COMPLETELY outgoing, but I am a little crazy sometimes. I wouldn't say I'm ugly or anything. I mean even my friends who are ugly get really cute and nice guys. I have a few guy friends, but I don't really know them even THAT well. They only open up to the outgoing crazy girls! WHAT IS WRONG WITH IMMATURE GUYS IN MIDDLE SCHOOL?!?!

You just answered your own question. The guys in middle school ARE immature. They are still BOYS, and by no means capable of having a real and meaningful relationship with a girl. Don't be so hard on yourself, or them. You all have some growing up to do before you can really start dating.

My brother is in middle school, you know what him and his friends want: To play video games and sports. The only intrest they have in girls is to see them naked. They have no interest in having a girlfriend.

hey everyone i have a literature project and i was hoping you could give me some ideas!
this is the project -
design a short play. Make several characters trapped in one room, setting, car, anything. describe what happens. form a good plot, strong characters, and enjoyable story. this project is extra credit.
does anyone have good ideas on what i can do my play on? it can be funny, serious, dramatic, horror, mystery... anything! people just need to be trapped together somewhere!
an example is the butcher, the baker, and the candlestick maker all trapped in a tub.

Could you date someone who had very different or totally contrary views to your own. For example, if you were a dedicated Democrat and they were a Republican, or if you were quite religious and they were an atheist. Would those sort of things be a dealbreaker for you or would you still want to see them?

Do you think relationships like that are doomed or are disagreements like that healthy?

Well I am a Christian, and my husband is and atheist and we get along just fine. We just respect what the other believes and don't try to force each others beliefs on each other. When we have children we have a deal we can both share are beliefs or non-beliefs and the children can decide for themselves, just like anyone should.

Okay this may seem strange but my friend is going out with my ex boyfriend and i'm really mad. Jordan (( my ex )) and I broke up in August and I really don't think that i still like him, that is untill my best friend decided to date him. I could've told her that it bothered me but I didn't! You had your chance with him, and you gave it up. It's been 4 months since your break up, and I think that has been long enough to make him fair game for other girls, including your friends.

My guess is that you are jelous and you feel you no longer have control.

If you really did "like" him in that way, you'd still be toghter. You know you can do better, so why do you care who he dates?

Get over it. It may be hard, but you have to let him go, let others be happy, he's not yours anymore.

In paint shop pro, there's a way to see what size your crop is (so that you can crop the height and length of an image evenly) .. is there a place on photoshop that you can see that?

Also, paint shop pro had 'brushes' that were like stamps and you could get custom brushes from other people to use on paint shop pro but I can't find anything like that on photoshop. Can you use brushes on photoshop? What do you click on to get to them? How do you put them onto photoshop?

One more thing - is there a place you can go to 'sharpen' and 'soften' instead of using the tool manually?

Photoshop is far superior to Paint Shop Pro because you can do far more things. Unfortunetly Photoshop is made more for a professional setting, as Paint Shop is more user friendly to be used by everyday people at home.

You can do all sorts of fancy things in Photoshop, but it takes time to learn it all. I took multiple classed to learn Photoshop, it's not something you can explaine how to use in a few sentences online.

Here is one easy way to crop evenly:
Select all
Go to SELECT menu and MODIFY
Select CONTRACT- Choose how many pixles to contract - you can do this multiple times. You can also expand.
When to desired crop point - go to IMAGE menu, and CROP.

okayyyyy this question is basically for people who have heart problems er know someone that does, er juss somethingggg. yes i know that no ones a doctor er w/e but i need opinions. okay i'm practically out for my season because i had an episode where i went to the ER because my heart was fluttering so bad, i felt like i was going to pass out, i was dizzy, my skin color was off & i looked off. soo i went & they gave me an EKG & tests & xrays & they don't want me playing until jan. because thats when my appt. is. i don't know, i want to play & i'm afraid it'll be something totally small & i do have asthma. has anyone had this & played a sport?? it could be completely dangerous but i juss wanna know the outcomes out've it since i'm not allowed to play at all.

If your doctor told you not to play, then don't play. Why take the risk? When I was in highschool a kid had a heart attack on the basketball court and died and another died of a heart attack while shoveling snow. These were kids! If you know you have heart problems, then you take it seriously and do what the docotor tells you.

I'm married, and my husband and I rent a house from my parents. I'm 20, and my husband is 21. They've been pretty generous by offering us the house over other renters, and giving us a lower rent. They insist of holding a copy of the house key for emergencies, which is fine with me.

Here's the problem. Lately, they've been letting themselves in without knocking. After my husband and I come home from work and put the baby in bed, we tend to sit around...not completely clothed. More than once now, they've caught us like this; once just walking around naked and twice being intimate.

But maybe worse, they let themselves in when we're not home. I don't think they mean any harm, but they come in, look around, borrow our stuff, and clean.

I'm afraid that they'll find something they don't like and kick us out. I feel that we're adults, and we pay rent, so we deserve some privacy. Am I right that we should have privacy? If so, how should I go about talking to my parents? I don't want to make them feel bad, since I think they're just trying to help.

Tell your parents that you are paying rent for a personal home, and expect to be treated just like any other tenant. Remind them that if a stranger was renting the house, they wouldn't just let themselves in. Since it is their home, they are welcome to let themselves in for repairs an maintenance, but with some warning.

But there is no reason they should be letting themselves in unannounced for no specific reason. Remind them you are adults, and don't need mom and dad to come clean for you. If they want to visit, they should call, or at least ring the doorbell.

They may not even know they are crossing your line. Talk to them about your expectations. Tell them it is their house, but it is YOUR home, and expect it to be treated as such. Hopefully they can respect your privacy. If not, it may be time to move out of mom & dad's house.

This is a totall random question that I just thought of...Is cracking your knuckles bad for you...or is it just a rumor??? Will it make your fingers fat or whatever...just wondering because i just started getting in the habit of cracking my knuckles...let me know! thanx

Cracking your knuckles has no effect on you physically. It's just the air between your knuckles making a popping noise. The only bad thing about it - it's rude.

I'm 16, female, I have my learners permit. I'm getting my license in May. I have about 1500 dollars saved in the bank. Can that get me a decent car? If not how much should I spend on a used car? I would like a car by May, and I only get paid about 200 dollars a month at the MOST. please give me some advice.

Yes, you can buy a used car for that price, but most of the time it may need work, or very shortly will need work. Cars are expensive, even if you get one for free. It needs gas, regular oil changes and manitence, and insurance. Besides paying for the car, you need to have some savings for maintence. You never know when a car will suddenly need $500 in repairs. So yes, you can buy a car, but don't blow your whole budget on the car alone.

I just sold my 94 Tarus for $800, but it also needed $800 in repairs.

You can get pregnat anytime you sleep with somebody. Use protection everytime. It's not worth taking the chance.

Hello, Last night me and 3 of my friends went out and did some stuff (nothing sexual). And well one of these friends I've liked for a little while now. And the whole time she was looking for boys. Her boyfriend left her for another girl about 2 or 3 weeks ago. And I guess I feel like giving up. I don't know if I should or not. Oh well, I just want some feedback. Please.

How can you give up before you even do anything? Tell her how you feel. She may have no clue since you are "just friends". She may like you too. But even if she doens't feel the same, she will feel complimented that you like her; and then you will know her answer.
