Lit Project!
hey everyone i have a literature project and i was hoping you could give me some ideas!
this is the project -
design a short play. Make several characters trapped in one room, setting, car, anything. describe what happens. form a good plot, strong characters, and enjoyable story. this project is extra credit.
does anyone have good ideas on what i can do my play on? it can be funny, serious, dramatic, horror, mystery... anything! people just need to be trapped together somewhere!
an example is the butcher, the baker, and the candlestick maker all trapped in a tub.

If you are going to make a play about people trapped in a room, check out Jean Paul Sartre's No Exit. Sartre was an existentialist writer who claimed there was no heaven or hell, but in fact hell lived in other people. He claimed that if we have no regrets for doing an act, then it cannot be a sin, unless the person acts out of "Bad faith". Weird guy, but a good one to base this kind of play on.

I WANNA ANSWER THIS SO BAD!
This will be my masterpiece.
Have a wigger that thinks he can rap but he can't, then have a guy that was locked up in the insane asylum for 4 years, have a racist guy so that he doesn't like the wigger, have a guy that everyone thinks smokes pot, and then finally, have a parnoid guy that doesn't like the crazy guy because he's afraid he's gonna do something. Have this all take place in present time. Then have the story start out that they are going trick or treating and then when they get to one house the boogieman pops up and tackles one of the characthers and then takes the rest of them to a clown car. He says if they can get out of the clown car in one day they can live if not then they have to die, death by stones. To make things better make the "stoner" character say "I don't wanna get stone.....I'M NOT A STONER! I hate you guys" Then they all try to figure out a way out of the clown car. The climax is when the conflict is resovled so have one of the characters realize that the doors are unlocked and have them get out. I guess the conflict would be all of them holding hands and skipping off into the sunset!

well, you could have three rednecks named cooter, ishmay, and hoss trapped inside of a shipping crate on its way to timbucktwo. the whole point of their situation is: they wanted to find out if timbucktwo was real. they have chickens, a hog, three dozen batteries, a flashlight, and a map of colorado that has too many beer stains on it to be usable. cooter speaks with such speed and thick accent that nobody can understand him, yet the characters can. sorta like boomhauer and kenny put together. whenever they hit a bump, hoss pulls out his shotgun and blasts it towards the sky. in one of these outbursts, have a loud thump against the crate, followed by a hot syrupy liquid leaking down into the crate. they think it's blood and freak out, but it turns out to be hydraulic fluid from the plane the crate was loaded into. they crash, survive, and find themselves stranded in the middle of communist north korea surrounded by pinko commie korean soldiers. the end.

Umm i have an idea i'm not sure if you'll like it but here it goes:
what if several people that live in the same building for many years but never said one word to each other, got stuck in the elevator. All of them, have different life styles, religions, and cultures, (I'll leave that part up to you, its best if you pick them yourself.) They have no choice but to start talking to one another, and learn so much from each other.
