What is the best hair straightener? I don't mind if its really expensive.

I have heard from MANY people [as well as Folica.com reviews] that CHI is good, but overpriced for what it can do.

I have a Solia Flat Iron, and I could not be happier with it. It's pricey, but you said that didn't matter so:

It's the best straightener I've ever used and it seems to damage my hair less. Plus, the way the hinge and plates are designed, I NEVER snag my hair or anything. It's amazing. I clean the plates with rubbing alcohol periodically to remove product buildup and that's it.

For a less expensive option, consider the Reminton Wet2Style [or Wet2 Straight, but the plates aren't curved and in my opinion harder to use]. Use it on dry hair, though. Use it on wet hair and you'll cause more damage and basically have to straighten your hair twice. It's wicked good. Not as hot as the Solia, but my hair stays mostly straight, totally straight in winter.

I had this one for over two years, and my only complaint was that the protective finish on the plates wore off over time. But since you'll pay $25 at Target for it, it's a cheaper option and easier to replace too.

please note this has happened to me a couple of times

When im on my period its USUALLY ok, but sometimes the pain is UNBERABLE

i woke up about FOUR in the morning, with aching in my legs, PURE AGONY!! My stomach was just SO sore, and was thumping.I couldnt lay in a position - it was just too painful. I then threw up, tried to stand up but kept falling over because my legs were to sore and weak. I then sort of fainted and then got so hot the sweat was dripping off me and i had to wipe it away..

this happens a few times on my period and its such an unbearable pain.

My question is WHY would this happen? && How can it get better?? I don't really like doctors...

Some periods are worse than others. You can't do much about them besides manage the symptoms through ibuprofen, Tylenol, or Midol. Heating pads, eating bananas, and exercise can often control cramps.

Another alternative is going on birth control to regulate your periods, if this problem is caused by your hormones. Talk to a doctor about it next time you go.

Its my b.fs birthday very soon! hes turning 20 and i dont need to know what to get him for his birthday, but what to do on his birthday, like date wise. I like the idea of getting him a cake. It's cute, and not to stereotype, but most guys LOVE food so that will go over well.

You could get tickets to another game, like a couple days after his actual birthday, and give him the tickets on his birthday. It'll be something to look forward to =]

Use either regular moisturizer [preferably unscented to minimize irritation] or Hydrocortizone cream. Shave in the same direction the hair grows, whenever possible. Make sure the razor is relatively sharp.

Also consider using Bikini Zone products, they work well but can be a bit pricey [it's another shave gel to buy, it's about $10 for both the gel and cream]

my hair is SO dull! I mean, I like the hairstyle and stuff, it just doesn't have that extra "glow" to it, ya know? I use fructis{sp?} shampoo and conditioner currently. Any suggestions? Thanks so much!!!

Leave your conditioner in for a few minutes longer than usual. I often get asked how i get my hair so soft-looking, and my only trick is that I put a good amount of conditioner in [not a huge glob, but a sizeable amount, whatever's right for your hair], and clip my hair up in one of those clip things.. I have no ides what they're called but, it's a hairclip, haha. Anyway you can take the rest of your shower while leaving the conditioner in that way.

Also, rinsing with cold water supposedly helps. Plus in the summer it's not that difficult.

Certain products leave a buildup in your hair, so try using a clarifying shampoo once in awhile to get rid of it. Suave and Pantene are two inexpensive options, or just add a teaspoon of baking soda to regular shampoo.

Split ends make ends look, well, split and dull. So get rid of them!

I'm 16 & on the pill, and I was just on Tri-cyclen lo, but I was majorly having breakthrough bleeding, so my doctor just switched me on Alesse. I just started it 2 nights ago, and tonight I realized I've started to spot again!!
I've been dating my boyfriend for a few months, and I was having him over friday night.
Thing is, for the past few weeks we've been fooling around, but over-top clothing. Well friday, he was gonna go under them. But I can't let him go down my pants if I'm spotting!!
And my doctor told me I'll probably spot for a 2-3 months. I DON'T WANT TO WAIT THAT LONG!!!

Usually it takes about a month for your body to adjust to the new hormones. Almost the same thing happened to me and by the second pack everything was normal.

Explain the situation to your boyfriend. If he's reasonable he'll understand and be willing to wait a couple weeks before he does anything. Besides, if the new hormones work for you, you won't have breakthrough bleeding anymore, which must get in the way of things a lot more than spotting, right? Think of it that way =]

How do you make a shirt, like how do you stick a design on a shirt? And what type of fabric is needed. Please just give me everything that's needed to make a shirt and how to do it.

For a single shirt (or just a few) you could use iron-on transfers and plain cotton t-shirts. You can get both of those at craft stores I believe. Make sure your printer reverses the image, or else it'll be backwards on the shirt!

For massive quantities, I'd recommend ordering them from a company. My school did that a lot and it was only $5 a shirt. [It pays off because of shirt, ink, and paper costs] If you need that, I can email an administrator and get the name of the company for you, just let me know in feedback =]

They'll fade with time, and blend in with your skin a lot more. Like if they're pink or red now, they'll end up being almost white eventually.

Some people swear by moisturizers with cocoa butter like Palmer's. You can buy it very inexpensively [less than $10] so it's worth a try =]

Exactly how dangerous is it to skip a period while on birth control? I go to the beach in two weeks and I will also be on my period then. Is it okay to just go on to the next pack and skip my period? If so, do I have to make up my period and have two in one month? Will it definitely work? If it doesn't work, should I go back to the period pills? Or is all this skipping around too much? Sorry for so many questions, but thanks for the help!

It's not dangerous. There's birth control now that prevents you from EVER having a period, so going directly to a new pack of active pills is perfectly okay. You don't have to "make it up" or anything, just start taking pills out of the new pack & throw away the sugar pills from the pack you're on now.

I REALLY like that tie. It's wicked awesome. =]

Anyway, just about any color will match it, as long as it's a light/pastel color. Too dark and the tie will blend in too much. White and light grey would also work and be very classic/elegant too.

If you have a date, consider coordinating your shirt with her dress color(s). It's a nice touch in photographs and is wicked adorable! [in a good way]

Put extra sunscreen on the areas that would tan faster. I always apply more than usual on my nose and cheeks, because they get the most sun.

As for being really light under your eyes, try not to wear sunglasses constantly, but wear them during peak UV rays (10 AM to 2 PM) as much as possible to avoid eye damage. Plus that skin is more delicate, and I'm guessing will tan differently. Most people don't put sunscreen right next to their eyes anyways, since it could melt and run into your eyes- ouch!

Besides what the person below me said, sometimes you can direct the conversation towards people he likes. But it's hard to be subtle about basically asking "So, Ryan, any new crushes lately? I know a couple girls who have their eye on you" or something similar. Sometimes you've got to be specific.

ok so imn going out with a really great guy but...... last night i found out that he has gotten drunk like 5 times and hes gotten high like 2 times. and im not sure if i need to freak or not, he said he woudnt get high again because he said he likes me alot. and my friend asked him the farthest hes gone with a girl and he wouldnt answer... so should i be worryed. and my friend told him to kiss me( This is my best friend. I wouldn't worry about it. He's even said that he won't get high again, it's just a matter of trusting him. If he's a good person whether or not they've been drunk before wouldn't bother me all that much. You can set certain boundaries [i.e. no drinking when you're together, you won't hang out with him if he's drunk] if it'd make you more comfortable. A relationship between the two of you will work only if you're willing to put up with his past behaviors. He may have been experimenting, doing what a lot of teenagers do, and has also said he wouldn't do it again so make a decision for yourself, it's your life right?

I'll put it this way. I know plenty of people who don't drink who are complete jerks. I also know people who are sincere and kind individuals who have gotten completely drunk a couple times. It's not always a clear indicator of personality.

As for kissing him, just have fun with it and don't worry about it at all. You'll enjoy it a lot more =]

Hi! Well I hate that I am so shy the first time I meet someone. Whenever I meet someone for the first time I am ridiculously shy especially when its a cute guy, and I don't really know why because once I know the person I am COMPLETE opposite! Its hard for me to approach a guy that I think is cute the first time I see him, like everyone i guess i get nervous, but i'm just tired of that. Many of my friends can just go up to a guy and say 'hi, i'm so and so blah blahh' but i just cant. I guess my problem is like a lot of other girls i'm afraid of rejection and I am self conscious. with the whole self conscious thing the problem is when i want to approach a cute guy, i get intimidated by other girls in the room who i think are better than me and i start to think, why would this guy want to talk/dance with me when he could talk to all these other better girls. and really im not normally this self conscious its just when im around guys im first meeting, thats why i cant figure out why im so shy. please help me find a way to become confident! You just have to ignore that little voice in your head. Seriously, if a guy didn't want to talk to you, he'd probably make an excuse to leave, or you'd be able to tell. Also, talk to guys even if you aren't interested in them romantically. For example, I'm friends with mostly guys now. A few years ago I was afraid to go near them. Despite most of my friends being male, I'll never understand how they think, but oh well. Those friendships made me more comfortable talking to them, and made me realize that they're just people who happen to have a Y-chromosome.

Try talking to guys in a group of mutual friends, or like I've said, ignore your shyness. If you have to, act like you already know them [at least enough to talk to them normally].

But everyone's shy when they first meet new people, so don't worry too much about letting your true personality show after that first encounter.

Unless you go from sweet cute girl, to crazy psycho bitch stalker girl, it's not a bad thing to reveal your true self and won't likely scare anyone off =P Surprisingly, guys sometimes get nervous around girls they think are cute, too!

It's actually not that bad of a book.
I would have liked it more if it wasn't required summer reading and was the cause of half of my grade's complaining.

It's worth reading and the ending is really good, if not a bit unfair to the reader. But it's written very well, and deals with a depressing topic without making the book bland and depressing too.

To put things in perspective, though, whoever said it posted it ONLINE. They didn't even have the guts to make their identity known, never mind say it to your face. I put an ad up online for an old textbook I have. Someone wants to buy it. They said they would send me a money order in the mail, and $4 to ship it through media mail at the post office.

To be honest, I've never shipped anything like a textbook to someone. I don't know what kind of packaging to get, if I use stamps and how many, and if I just put it in the mailbox...

I also don't know how money orders work.

I know I sound stupid. So please, tell me how to do this.

If you bring the book to the post office, they'll weigh it and put it in a proper box/envelope for you and put the adequate amount of postage. You'll probably just need a regular box/mailer.

The other day I was surfing the net for diet patches, when I came across these hoodia diet patches. I'm so desperate to loose weight that I bought myself a month's supply, which brings 30 patches, on impulse. I didn't even bother to check if they actually worked, or the health risks, or even how old you're supposed to be to use them. I'm 15\f, and I just need to know that they won't kill me or make me fatter, or anything of the sort. Thnx for any imputs.

Lots of weight-loss products aren't meant for people younger than 18. If you insist on using them I'd be VERY careful. Make sure someone else knows that you're using them in case of side effects. If you truly need to lose weight, consider enlisting the help of a doctor or nutritionist if you can.

More likely than anything else, they won't do much of anything, but if sticking a patch on your hip is all the motivation you need to kick-start a healthy eating & exercise routine, why not buy a package of stickers next month and write "Motivation in Sticker Form" on it? =]

I'd still do adequate research for side effects, though. I'm guessing that you might get jittery from it since a lot of those things are designed to boost energy levels and whatnot.
