best shirt to match tie?
hi. we have a prom coming up, and im wearing a black suit (no-body is wearing a tux). ive bought my black suit, and i've found a tie:

what would be the best shirt colour to go with the tie? like ive said, black suit, with waistcoat, black shoes. what colour shirt? cheeers in advance :)

I REALLY like that tie. It's wicked awesome. =]
Anyway, just about any color will match it, as long as it's a light/pastel color. Too dark and the tie will blend in too much. White and light grey would also work and be very classic/elegant too.
If you have a date, consider coordinating your shirt with her dress color(s). It's a nice touch in photographs and is wicked adorable! [in a good way]

Well, white of course would always look good. For something a little more colorful, I'm picturing it with a light blue shirt. Red would look good too! Or even green, or maybe purple- any color really, as long as it's not too dark. It's best though that there isn't any prominent pattern, because it may clash with the paisley pattern on the tie.
