Exactly how dangerous is it to skip a period while on birth control? I go to the beach in two weeks and I will also be on my period then. Is it okay to just go on to the next pack and skip my period? If so, do I have to make up my period and have two in one month? Will it definitely work? If it doesn't work, should I go back to the period pills? Or is all this skipping around too much? Sorry for so many questions, but thanks for the help!

LM answered Monday June 30 2008, 5:19 pm: It's not dangerous. There's birth control now that prevents you from EVER having a period, so going directly to a new pack of active pills is perfectly okay. You don't have to "make it up" or anything, just start taking pills out of the new pack & throw away the sugar pills from the pack you're on now.

Some people, like me, don't bleed at all. It is common to experience a heavier period afterwards, though. And no, you will not have to 'make up' for your period. Just continue taking pills until you are scheduled to have another period. [ Hustle_Rose's advice column | Ask Hustle_Rose A Question ]
LiLMAMAx answered Monday June 30 2008, 3:21 pm: I've skipped my period ONE time using birth control. You will still get your period for about a day but it's not bad. But the next time your period is due, you'll bleed a lot more than you usually do; only because you have a lot of blood waiting to be released. ♥ [ LiLMAMAx's advice column | Ask LiLMAMAx A Question ]
