advice

I have three goals to loose my weight by.

1. January. I want as much that will come off.

2. Easter. To go in a Tankini (if you know what this is) when swimming, and not look gross.

3. Summer. I want a flat tummy to wear a bikini.

I'm 5'1 and 154 ilbs.
You're the last person i'm asking.
Somebody recommended you to me =]
I'm going to take YOUR advice,
so I need a healthy plan.

Also, I'm in school, so I need for lunch, something I can bring to school for lunch everday, that does'nt need to be refigerated[sorry for the spelling] and heated. We eat at 12:45.

Well its good to see that you have goals and that they are nicely spaced and realistic.

First and foremost, nutrition is the most important factor in any fitness plan...stick to lean meats, chicken, eggs, fish, cheese, milk, yogurt, whole grain breads, pasta and plenty of fruits and veggies. Water Water Water, don't be afraid of having some milk too. For your lunch, I'll recommend what I do...I stir fry up some veggies you can get in a stir fry frozen foods bag, cook up some pasta and grill some chicken and mix all of the ingredients in a Tupperware container with some nice stir fry sauce. This is a very good nutritionally balanced meal and doesn't need to be refrigerated/heated to enjoy...you can also make enough of it in one night to last for your whole school week. Pack some fruit, nuts or yogurt and you're set. Don't neglect breakfast either.

For your exercise...just do your favorite workout routine for an hour to an hour and 15 mins a minimum of 3 days a week and you'll be set there. Results may take time, but they happen slowly but surely. Don't become obsessive with calories and little details, enjoy the ride and the discipline it creates. Stick to your goals and you'll do just fine :-)

im a guy and im 17, im not really into sports, but half the guys i know are..why can't i get interested?

Because you're an Un-American bastard! :-)

Iam just playin with u, it's just that you don't like sports and are into different things. I can relate, none of the friends I had growing up were ever sports fans, I was the only one lol.

If you're not into it by 17, chances are you probably aren't ever going to be into it....different strokes for different folks.

Does anyone know of a website that can calculate how many calories you burn while doing an exercise. All I can find are sites that only tell how many calories you burn when you are like..skiing, and biking. Is there any simple ones just like...pushups, sit-ups, chin-ups, hogging in place, weight lifting, etc.?

I would really appreiciate it if someone could answer this for me.

Calisthenics and Weightlifting will general burn around 400-600 calories an hour with a normal pace and around a minute to a minute and a half rest in between sets. Running will burn about 700 an hour if you do it non-stop.

Just think that we burn 70 calories an hour while sleeping, truly is amazing how the body utilizes calories.

Ok here's how it roles, i need to know some good workouts for Pecs, back, and abs. any help greatly aprreciated

Here's how I "Roll"-

Pecs- Incline Dumbbell Presses

Lats (Back)- Barbell Rows, Deadlifts

Rectus Abdominis- Rope tucks, Roman Chairs, Vacuums

Mind you these movements do require more effort than the conventional movements like crunches, pushups or even bicep curls...but they're the best movements for the areas you described and will yield the most results. Yes, they're hard- Yes they take practice.

My dance teacher said that we aren't supposed to flex because it builds thigh muscle that aren't supposed to be built and I was just wondering if that's true. If you flex while working out, does that build muscle?

Good question, this is both true and untrue. Your dance teacher is right in the fact that she said that it builds muscle, if you do it A LOT (Iam talking about hours of hard flexing a day). This was the basis behind Charles Atlas' programs he would sell in the back of comic books in the 40's, 50's and 60's. This style of training is called Dynamic Tension. It is very good to flex whether you are working out or just sitting around, it helps to really polish off the muscle and helps push out a lot of water and other toxins beneath the skin. I doubt you are flexing enough for this to be an issue, especially in such a big muscle group like the quads.

I wouldn't say I'm geeky with glasses but I'm wondering if maybe the guy I like might be embaressed of me wearing them since he knows I like them but everyone says I look good with them. What do you think?

I say screw what he says and do what you want.

For what its worth, I like glasses on girls.

My friends have told me that you don't need to study for driver's ed..that it's all common sense and just plain easy.

Should I take their advice and not study? I've asked friends from other states and schools and they've all said that studying is pointless, but no one I know has had my driver's ed teacher before.

There's Driver's Ed driving and there's real life driving. Driver's ed is very focused and they show u how to do everything to a T. After a while of driving on your own, you develop your own style of driving and driver's ed becomes a blur. Driving is not mostly common sense..it is ALL common sense, if you don't have the ability to make split second decisions then you shouldn't be driving. Try driving in Manhattan with 8 million people :-)

Study a little and you'll be fine.

does any1 believe in telekenisis or having premitions or anything like that?...(sorry i probably spelt them both wrong)

Telekinesis is when you move things with your mind. Telepathy is having visions. Stop watching Final Destination.

And for the record...no I personally do not believe in that.

Well i weigh alot and im signed up to a gym but i don't go that often because i have aot of homework. Also i'm having some acne problems. And theres this girl i've been trying to impress latly so plz help me.

You don't want a girl to like you for your muscles dude. Besides most of them think muscle guys are jerk offs anyway and they're right a lot of the time lol.

You didn't ask a question, so I'll just say to make the time to get it done bro if you want it that bad. I have homework and a lot of shit too, but I find the time. It all depends on just how bad you want to get it all done.

Ok, so i know there was a ban on ephedra, but i also hear the ban was lifted. Was it really lifted? What stores can products with epedra in it be purchased? Thanks.

The ban hasn't been lifted yet, but it is in fact in the process of being lifted. Ephedrine was the less potent substitute in recent years since Ephedra was banned. You will need to be 18 to buy it in a health food store such as the Vitamin Shoppe or GNC when it comes back to the market, but I'll recommend now that you save your money.

I have two questions about the urine test that are given during physicals:

1)At what age (if any) do they stop giving them?

2)Do they check for drugs if a request isn't given to do so?

1. They don't stop giving them

2. No; but they'll find it anyway.

For baseball, if there's a runner on first base and the batter strikes out on a wild pitch that hits the ground, can he run for first if the runner is stealing second?

Thanks.

Catcher either has to tag the batter or throw to first in that situation. If the throw isn't on time, the batter is safe. It isn't ruled a hit.

ok, so, this has been a big problem for me lately. i'm 5'2. i'm pretty chubby and i'm about to get the ab lounger or whatever soon... but i want to get taller. i go to the weightroom at school to lift some weights but my friends tell me to stop because i'm already short and so i did stop and i just run on the treadmill instead.

if i do get the ab lounger, would i still be able to get taller? and how can i get taller?

1. Yes

2. I'll bet you're still about 15 so you aren't done growing. You'll stop when you're about 17 or 18, after that...there's nothing you can do. Sorry.

does stretching burn fat?

No.

reduced fat peanut butter is a huge part of my diet.
I eat it every morning on whole wheat bread with a bannana.
Is that an okay breakfast?

No it isn't really a good breakfast, however if you add some eggs in than it can be considered a decent breakfast. Add milk for extra points and you're set. Can't eat like a bird..you need to feed your body.

Some people say that diet soda is worse for you then regular soda. is this true?????

Absolutely...the Aspartamate sugar substitute is worse than just straight up sugar, plain and simple.

If you're going to have soda, just have a regular soda..it's the lesser of the 2 evils ironically.
