A few thoughts I've gathered from my teenage years (and being on this site for most of them!):
1. If you Google song lyrics, the song will come up 99% of the time.
2. Dress to fit your body type, and buy the size that fits. If you're a size 6, squeezing into a 4 won't make you look skinnier. It makes you look fat when you aren't.
3. You will never regret waiting to lose your virginity.
4. There is such a thing as a stupid question, but we're all allowed to ask them.

You can always try saving the setting again.

can cutting urself cause ecsema?

I'm pretty sure it doesn't, since excema is someting you're born with. But I know it can flare up, then disappear for (literally) years before showing up again. Or, you can have it and never even know it until it flares up for the first time. I'm no doctor, but maybe cutting causes it to flare up. Or the excema-like rash is your body's defense to germs you're exposing yourself to by cutting.

Regardless, you're cutting yourself and that's not good (even if it's NOT causing your apparent excema). You should really see a doctor, for the rash AND a referral to someone who can help you. If you're cutting yourself, it can be a sign of depression or some other psychiatric condition. You need help with this, and someone who really knows what they're talking about can give you the assistance you need.

My best friend needs help with her times tabels. We're going into 9th grade and she barely knows them!

Her mom said that she could get her hair done if she learns them, so she's basiclly bribing her. Before she wouldn't let her go anywhere if she didn't learn.

I've always helped her and it worked for a while but now I need a new way for her to remember and for me to teach her.

I learned mine when I was in 2nd grade and that was because for everyone I got wrong, my brother slaped my hands with a belt. Ouch. But I can't do that with her so can anyone give me any advice?

It sounds childish, but that's how I learned mine. And lots, and I mean LOTS, of repitition. If she reads them over and over and practices enough, they'll stick. It's like riding a bike without training wheels- it's hard at first, but once you learn, you never forget.

well to start things off.. im 15/f

theres this guy that i absolutley adore!(16/m) hes funny, interesting, and down to earth.. well were pretty good friends and i talk to him alot online. the problem is that he just got out of a relationship and still misses that other girl (like ALOT) and i tell him things are gunna turn around and everything. but i really dont think that he thinks of me as anything more than a friend. how can i get him to notice me like that without straight out telling him i like him?

Guys are pretty stupid. At least when it comes to girls. If oyu want him to know, pretty much the only way to let him know is to straight out tell him. It may be difficult, but jsut take a deep breath and go for it. You have nothing to lose! If he doesn't feel the same way, wait about three days, and everything will be back to normal, like it never even happened.

If you don't say anything and never do anything about it, you'll only kick yourself later for not taking that chance. So go for it. Life shouldn't be filled with regrets.

I got some cute, brightly-colored Pushpins at Walmart and Target to hang all my necklaces and bracelets. It's really cute and doesn't take up that much space either!

You could also invest in an earring holder. They're similar to a picture frame, only they have a mesh screen in the center. There's plenty of deifferent styles and colors to match your decorating style and size of your collection.

my digital camera works, itself.
I can take pictures and all that good stuff
but when i go to upload them onto my computer, it just doesn't work.
it goes the camera screen where i can take pictures and just doesn't uplaod them.
I've tried restarting my computer.

It just started doing this.

someone told me blowing into the retreiving and receiving end of the USBcord would help, but I'm not sure & I don't want to mess up anything.

Try a different port first.

If that still doesnt work, try turning the camera on.

If it's STILL not working, I'd take it to Best Buy or something and have it looked at.

I just got a speeding ticket a little while ago but the cop was just the biggest jerk ever. He pulled me over after I entered the highway, telling me that I was speeding on the ramp. Wtf is that? I was accelerating so I could catch up with the drivers on the highway, WHAT YOURE SUPPOSED TO DO!


The speed limit on the highway was 70mph but everyone was going like 85 (crazy Houston drivers)so going up the ramp I was going 77 (what he told me) and he pulled me over! I didn't argue with him too much because I didn't want to get in trouble but should I try to fight it? I mean, yeah I was over 70 but only to keep up with the traffic. So fight it or just pay up?

Honestly, fight it.

You'd have gotten pulled over for going too SLOW if you had stayed at the speed limit. That could've caused an accident too. (You JUST CANT WIN!)

If you show up at the appeals court on time
(or wherever you go, I don't drive so I'm not 100% sure where you go to fight these things) and dress nicely, don't yell/argue et cetera, you'll probably win.

I have two weeks left until school starts and I want a real tan (NOT an instant tan or spray tan!). But I don't tan easy. It usually takes me a while to tan. Is there anything I can use to make me tan faster? I've tried all kinds of lotions and oils to enhance the tan and make me tan faster but it never works. Is there a certain brand that works better than others? Or is there something different I can use? Like, my friend uses baby oil and says it works really good and someone told me that lemon juice works (I dont believe that but just so you know what I mean).

The best way to get a tan is to stay in the sun for a couple hours at a time, WEARING SUNSCREEN. You'll eventually tan- it's a gradual process for many people.

Trust me on the sunscreen thing- you may be tempted not to wear it (like I was) because it takes you so long to get color. But be warned- the one day you don't wear it, you'll get a horrible burn. This exact thing happened to me. And I was red as a lobster for three days.

And even though killer sunburns can become killer tans, I do NOT recommend this method because of the skin cancer thing. Plus, it will hurt like heck and you'll wonder why you ever sat in the sun for so long.

Also, fake tans look a LOT more natural than they used to. If all else fails, you can use a litle of a light-toned, gradual color product if you're not the desired shade of tan by the first day.

okay..so i have a bit of tummy fat..and i went to a party wtih allgirls and my 2 friends kept looking at my stomach and didnt say anything..idk if they are really my friends or what..i thought they were.but i mean i dont know. having this lower stomach fat i have been self conscious about my whole life. any advice is helpful!! thanks!

You know, anyone who thinks less of you because you have a little tummy fat isn't really your friend.

If this REALLY bothers you (and not just because these so-called "friends" don't like you because of it) , you can do some crunches to flatten and tone. The exercise itself will make you feel better and more confident (because of endorphins) and will make you look as you want to look.

Ok .. i dont know if this is the rightr catagory but..

I used to have acne really bad on my chest (I still do but not even near as bad as i did before). And now, even though it's better, i Have acne scars on my breasts and it makes me so self conscious. I also have what looks like stretch marks (but they might be scars too.. i dont really know why i would have stretch marks because my boobs aren't that big).

But is there any way to get rid of these things? I dont even like letting my fiance see me... is there some kind of lotion or laser surgery or SOMETHING? Please help me.

Have you considered seeing a dermatologist? If it's still severe, they can prescribe an antibiotic such as doxycycline, which will get rid of the bacteria under you skin causing the acne. They can also help you treat the scars the acne leaves behind, but they WILL fade with time, so don't worry. Same thing with the stretch marks- they'll eventually fade. If you don't want to wait that long, there are laser treatments that can significantly reduce their appearance. But they can be expensive. Also, I've heard that cocoa butter can help fade them, but I'm not certain. (Heck, its worth a try, isnt it?)

As for not liking your fiance see you: Unless he's a horrible person (which I'm doubting, since you're engaged) he loves you for who you are, and not for a few blemishes on your skin. Plus, you notice them more than he ever will.

I need a good foundation. Which do you all reccomend that wont be cakey and dry out skin? I have combo skin if that helps.

I use Maybelline Pure Makeup and Dream Matte Mousse. I have combination skin and they've worked really well for me. Even my parents think I'm not wearing makeup when I have it on, and it covers up virtually every imperfection on my face).

No matter how expensive/ high quality your foundation is, it'll look terrible (or not as natural as it could look) if your face has lots of dead skin cells on it or is excessively oily (I know, it sounds disgusting). For this reason, I'd recommend washing your face with a gentle cleanser beforehand (or at least rinsing with water). The best method (at least in my experience) is using a scrub. I like St. Ives Apricot Scrub, but any kind that you like the smell of (and is good for your skin type) will work. Scrubs will exfoliate away all the icky stuff that can buildup in your pores, and will make your face look fresh and glowing (making you need less foundation, and therefore it'll be less cakey and fake-looking).

Also, if you need touch-ups during the day: pressed and/or loose face powder is *usually* better than layering on more foundation. Plus, powder controls shine better than foundation and is easier to reapply away from home too.

Wow, I totally went overboard on that one. =]

I usually wax my face because I have really thick facial hair. Is there any way to avoid getting whiteheads/pimples after I do it?

I've read that putting Neosporin on right after you wax helps to prevent whiteheads, since whiteheads that show up after waxing are caused by bacteria and such.

Peak and off Peak will deduct from you minutes. Everything else should be included (weekends,, In Calling, and In Text).

If you're still not sure, you can call the Verizon company and ask them.

and i have music from cd's on window's media player and music that i downloaded on limewire, and i was wondering if i would be able to put all of that music on to my iPod if i were to have it. (paying for iTunes is not an option for me)

yes, iTunes is free. And WMA files can easily be transferred. In fact, when you first open iTunes, it offers to search your entire computer for music files, ad it will convert them into the iTunes format. For your LimeWire songs (I'm assuming they're MP3s) you can add the files to your library and they will also be converted.

Ok I'm a 14/f. I'm getting ready to go to high school with my boyfriend. I'm a cheerleader and hes a football player. Well, at my school cheerleaders and football players aren't allowed to date! What should I do?

The school shouldn't really have that much power over who dates who... that's just WEIRD. I'd just not tell anyone that you're dating, and you can always deny it if you're asked. You and your boyfriend know the truth, and that all the matters.

Or, you can tell any teacher who gets in your way,
"we only date after [time when school gets out] so we're not doing anything wrong, you see!"

I lost my cell phone and I've tried calling my number but the phone was turned off. I have verizon. Is there a way to locate where my phone is somehow?

The best way to locate something is to look for it! Retrace your steps EXACTLY- right down to the direction you were facing in a room, what you did in said room, who you talked to (they may remember a strange place you tucked your phone or something), where you EVER remember putting your phone down the day you lost it, and under furniture/in couch cushions/the crisper drawer (I'm totally serious; I found the TV remote there once)

If you still haven't located it, it's entirely possible somebody stole your phone, in which case you should call Verizon and ask them to suspend your account. It almost never fails- as soon as your number is temporarily deativated, your phone will miraculously show up. When you get your phone back (and you probably will, these things almost always turn up) your account can be re-activated.

*Just make sure that they enable you on the network too, otherwise you wont be able to text or make calls (which is EXACTLY what they did to me)*
