Question Posted Thursday July 27 2006, 7:50 pm

My best friend needs help with her times tabels. We're going into 9th grade and she barely knows them!

Her mom said that she could get her hair done if she learns them, so she's basiclly bribing her. Before she wouldn't let her go anywhere if she didn't learn.

I've always helped her and it worked for a while but now I need a new way for her to remember and for me to teach her.

I learned mine when I was in 2nd grade and that was because for everyone I got wrong, my brother slaped my hands with a belt. Ouch. But I can't do that with her so can anyone give me any advice?

Definetly flashcards

and heres a couple that are more easier...just remember.... 4x4=16 [you have to be 16 to drive a 4x4]...7x7=49[upside down 7 and 7 look like a football goal and that means the 49ers]...8x8=64...[in the first 8 you can see a 6...and in the second it has 4 corners]6x6=36[just pretend the 6's are lizards and their thirsty 6's...which is 36.

Ah, i learned that in 3rd grade, and that is how my teacher did it...i think its a good idea.

But anyways...hope i helped and good luck

Flashcards.
It sounds childish, but that's how I learned mine. And lots, and I mean LOTS, of repitition. If she reads them over and over and practices enough, they'll stick. It's like riding a bike without training wheels- it's hard at first, but once you learn, you never forget.
